How the hell do you get Celebi... I don't think they had an event for that one yet. I know Jirachi was only avalable in Pokebox fpr Sapp. and Ruby. But only the 1,000 limited edition ones.

But whenever they have the events at Toys r'us in my area I go and they say what are you talking about...An event! Then it takes three people to find out soemone is supposed to be doing the event and they tell a long story and don't so it.

I agree that pokemon should be in the games like this

Well, I like the events. I mean, I've only ever been to one, because there's only ever been one anywhere near me, and that's because it was a whole nationwide Toys R Us anniversary schtick rather than a Nintendo-only thing. If Nintendo just put out those guys at events at Toys R Us nationwide like twice per year, it'd be great. Give a sense of community, which is pretty much what Pokemon is about.

Here is the directions to doing the Manaphi mission on Pokemon Ranger NJ, and there is no event involved. I'm not sure where or who you got your info from, but they were wrong.

All you have to have is Ranger, you do the egg mission and transfer it to D or P.

From what I understand, the US version will be the only version that does not require an event. I'm hoping that is correct.

Especially since Serebii is still saying that the mission is available in the US version.

Serebii.net said you can get Manafi, Mew, Deoxys, and Celebi without special events. The next day (Only like two days ago), they said they made a mistake and a special event is required for Manafi, but not for Celebi, Mew, and Deoxys.

Blue,Yellow,Silver,Sapphire and Leaf Green

they rule

my favourite team was on blue - Butterfree,Jolteon,Articuno,Blastoise,Venosaur and Charizard....

Well, he is. Pretty much everyone puts it between Zapdos and Jolteon and Jolteon is far more versitile. Personally my favorite electric type is Raichu, but that's because I always get him in the Veridean forest as Pikachu and then level him up.

Flareon's stats don't complement its moves, like many fire types. It has high attack but learns crap for attack moves. What can it learn? Return? Flareon is the worst Eeveelution

It's sad because of how long I have played the Pokemon games, I have yet to ever have an electric pokemon on my team. Either they are too underpowered or just plain lame-o looking.

Thats not true at all. If you can teach him the moves later it really doesn't matter if he can learn it on his own or not. Or else you're saying crappy electric types like Raichu are better than it just because they learn the moves on its own. No, what makes a pokemon good is stats and what moves it can learn overall(not just ones it can learn by itself). which in this case Jolteon is very good.

Pokemon.com will be revealing the code to input into Pokemon Ranger that will allow you to play the manafi mission and get the manafi egg.

When you do that, you can then transfer the egg to Diamond/Pearl and hatch it for the Pokemon Manafi.

Vaporeon is the best all rounder, sure, but do you actually pick him to use?
i mean, the game is completely over ruled with water pokemon, there are far, FAR, better water pokes than him. the best moveset i can actually think of for him has surf, ice beam, toxic and acid armor, but acid armor is the only one which is a rare move to come across on a poke.

if i had to pick a good poke from the eevee line, then i would go with jolteon, he has amazing speed, so unless your oppenent uses agility, then chances are your getting the first move in.
and dont use thunder, thunderbolt is the best electric attack move out there.

oh, and you forget espeon, if trained right he can be great, i walked through pokemon XD with him.

Somehow, I feel it's wrong for you guys, intelligent and mature, to play Pokemon without having an understanding of the deeper elements of the game. Yes, the single-player is fun, charming even, but the multi-player is truly epic, especially if you have knowledge of the game's mechanics. I feel I should at least present the information to you and let you decide whether or not competitive battling is for you. And let me tell you, it isn't for everyone; competitive battling, if done legally (no Action Replay/GameShark), can take several weeks to raise a battle-ready Pokemon. This is why I promised myself long ago that I would never play Pokemon again without the aid of a cheat-device (only to cut tedious parts). But the end result is a tremendous feeling of accomplishment. So, do you guys want a basic tutorial of competive battling?

...I have tremendous FAQ that I can make a thread about, but would you guys want it? The information in the FAQ can be a bit challenging for beginners, but it isn't THAT difficult. So, what do you guys say?

Yes, we all know Boltbeam is a good little combo, and that Skarmbliss is devestating, and spikes and roar teamed up together is the worst.

There should be a Galactic Grunt located outside of the Great Marsh/Safari Zone place. Talk to him, and he runs to the east. Your rival will challenge you after, but after you beat him, go after the Galactic Grunt. You'll run into him a couple of times as you follow him, and eventually he'll fight you. Head north after you beat him.

Just wondering if I'm the only one who finds it weird that the heaviest Pokemon weights only 1 ton(Groudon). Yet based off there size and the materials that they are made of shouldn't they weight much much more?!
Your average African Bush Elephant weighs between 7-11 tons by itself. I'd say they are about as big as a tyranitar which don't even weight 1/3 as much even though they're made of rock. And Steelix weighing in at less than half a ton doesn't even measure up to the 3 ton Hippopotomus even though they are made of steel. What are these pokemon filled with? Hot air?

I do sometimes, but only cetian pokemon.

I'm wrapping up my new team for this Gen.
I like to use pokes I've never used before, and try out different things.
This Gen, I'm using the following;

Aerodactly
Gallade
Crobat
Snorlax
Kingdra

and I'm not sure who the last spots going to. I'm also a little undecided on wether to use Kingdra, lanturn or Starmie.
I've used Starmie before, and I have to say it's one of the best pokes I've ever used, I was sometimes unstoppable with that thing.
Lanturns a Poke I've always neglected, but Volt Absorb is a nice ability I can use to switch out with, and it's HP is supprisingly big.
But, I love the Water/Dragon typing Kingdra has, it's the one of the two dragons that can take ice beam.

I'm guessing I'll end up using either Dusknoir, Forretress (another I've used before) or Skarmory (again, another I've used before)

EV trained skarmory in SP.defence (to stop the whole Fire Blast attacks which are about the only thing that can stand up to this bastard) with with Roost, Spikes, and whirlwind/roar actually sounds VERY good, thanks to roost coming into play.

Does anyone here EV train?
I just did my first EV training a few days ago. It was an Adamant Totodile with Dragon Dance and Ice Punch. He got Pokerus and I had a Power Bracer and a Power Anklet, so it didn't take that much time to max out the stats.

I'm starting on my next one today. An Adamant Gible. I'm thinking of something like this:

109 HP / 252 Att / 149 Spd

After defeating the Elite Four and completing the Sinnoh Pokedex, Pal Park will be unlocked. You put the GBA game in the DS and transfer six Pokemon onto Diamond or Pearl.

Nah, you don't have to complete them to transfer them over, tried it and tested it. I use my leaf green to hack TM's amd things like leftovers or evolution held items and transfer them over.

You just need 7 Pokemon to trade (Six go on the DS game, 1 stays on GBA game).
