Today I got a Classic Transformer Optimus Prime vs. Megaton: Ultimate Battle two-pack. It's really cool, actually. Comes with 5-inch (looks to be the same size as the Deluxe assortment) versions of Prime and Megatron plus a DVD that I truthfully have neglected to watch, so I can't evaluate.
Prime looks to be in his straight-up classic appearance, and has "Power Punch Action" or something like that. Hit a button on his back and his whole upper torso spins wildly. But it also hangs very loose, so you might want to secure it in the back with one of the clear rubber bands used to hold the gun in his hand while packaged.
Megatron is a big green tank. Now maybe my memory is off, but I don't remember Megatron being green nor being a tank. I always thought he was a handgun. Either way, it looks cool. Hit a button on his right arm and his propeller blade things spin. These don't hang loose like Prime's upper torso though.
The whole pack was only 19.99 at Toys R Us, which is a killer deal considering that's the same price for the Voyager editions of these guys, and only seven bucks more than a Deluxe edition.

Megatron was a green tank in Marvel's G2 comic series.

Yeah, I recently got Starscream and Prime as well. Starscream's not as good as the others. It's because he lacks the paint on the face, makes the details not so visible.

Just got the 20th Anniversary DVD Edition Optimus Prime and I'm a little dissapointed. First off, there is no trailer but you know that going in. Many of the joints were loose upon removal from the box. The movie phrases that it repeats are not recorded by Peter Cullen. It does have some good points and it looks pretty good if you can get it into a decent pose. I doubt I ever even transform him into truck mode since he looks somewhat incomplete without a trailer.

I just bought classic line Grimlock for my 4 year old son. I'm 32, and had one hell of a time trying to transform him to robot mode! Anyhow, i love the classic line, they need to release more. My only complaint is the colors they chose for Megatron. Yeah, i glad he's a hand/laser gun again but green, purple and white just isn't 'Megatron' to me.

Just added Astrotrain and Starscream to my growing classics collection. these things are great, especially Astrotrain, he looks great in all three modes. i'm thinking about getting Rodimus or Optimus Prime next. What I really can't wait for is a classics Soundwave, my favorite character after Starscream. Hopefully he'll come out in the next wave of figures. A classics Prowl would be great too.

I've warmed up to my 20th anniversary prime. Now that I've worked with him a little more I've found some pretty good poses. I noticed that there is a piece on the front of his leg that you must flip up while transforming into truck mode that would serve as a place to attach a trailer. Are there any plans for them to release a 20th anniversary trailer? I know it's not likely, but I found it odd that they included a moving piece on Primes leg that does nothing other than serve as a place to attach his trailer. Maybe they had originally planned on selling him with trailer. I passed up on the classics Prime because there was again no trailer. I would gladly pay more for a version with trailer.

Since just posting in this thread now, I've bought a few classics over two months. Got Prime, Megatron, Hot Rod...err Rodimus (since they can't use 'hot rod' anymore lol), Starscream, Bumblebee, Grimlock, and Astrotrain.
Bumblebees gotta be the best version of him yet, he may not be a bug but he has a great head sculpt. I like the Grimlock too, but his legs are just slightly off to me as his lower legs take up too much of his entire leg length. Astrotrain doesn't quite feel like the old one, but I think I like him better as it's actual transformations and not just flipping mini panels over. Starscream is prob the best of the lot, Prime's great but that see thru blue they put in to make his eyes glow with light is too dark and his eyes seem to always stay a really dark blue.
As for Megatron I went ahead and removed the pin connecting the 'wings' to the rest of the body lol. I did it with no visible damage to the figure, and he can still transform as the wings clip together and hold on fine. You can't tell the difference when he's transformed, and when he's in robot mode he doesn't have the annoying green glowing wings. Only thing I suggest tho is take your time if you try to remove the pin, hairdryer+hammer and nail, and just do it slowly or it could ruin it.
I'm liking the look of that Ultra Magnus vs. Skywarp two pack, but closest Target is 30 miles away and not sure when it's coming out. Personally I wish they'd finish up the Dinobots, and make a triple changer Springer, and a Kup.

Just ordered an Alternators Prowl off of Ebay for $20 and I am wondering if this was a good buy? It came with the box but seems to have already been removed from its packagin, however all the instructions and accessories are there. So was it good?
Also I've gotten Classics Hot Rod (I will never call him by Rodimus), Starscream, and the Optimus Vs. Megs set from TRU. The Vs. Set is pretty cool although I wash Megs had been a gun rather than a tank. Optimus also has this wierd thing where punches when you press a button but mine broke so he kinda swivels on his chest. Scotch Tape = Autobot repair.

Yeah, that is not a bad deal. did you get the one in the red box or the large bubble on a cardboard tray like the current releases? Here is a picture of my prowl, but I modified him so the top half of the car is the front of his legs. It does not affect transformation at all, in fact it saves a step, instead of flipping the legs out and rotating the lower body at the waist 180 degrees, you just flip out the legs. you simply remove the screws on the inner sides of the lower legs, do one leg at a time trust me. remove the side panels, remove the legs and swap em arround, and reattach side panels, and screw them back on.

I bought the series 2 Engergon Devastator, I had to buy Long Hall, Quickmix, Bonecrusher, Scavenger, Buckethead and HighTower separately then join the together, I have them in the boxes itching to open...but I want to keep them in a box like my Cybertron Prime which I want to open too....

Classics devastator IS a repainted repackaged Energon Devastor but all packaged together. there was a engergon bruticus and energon superion that will probably get repainted and repackaged as well. just like the repainted and repackaged RID's build team all yellow for the Universe line and in purple and green as a different Devastator for I think a Target exclusive set.

That is a pretty cool little set. Kind of G2 like
Oh on some of the early releases in that two pack Megatron's feet are on backwards. If you have one of those sets it only really affects the alt mode the feet won't fold as flat as they should, but it's an easy fix remove the screws on the legs ans swap the feet from one side to the other and flip them around. I had to do it with mine.

I like the OP from that set, the Megs not so much. Also a warning on the OP figure. His "Super Punch" action will go wonky sometimes and snap on the inside making him spin completely around on the hinge. If you wish to fix this and lose the "Super Punching" action then just use Scotch tape to keep him in place. If not then you will have to take him apart and fix the gear inside.

I said I wouldn't let this happen and yet here I am with Transformers Classics containers torn open in a pile beside me. I just got Optimus, Bumble Bee, Starscream, and Astrotrain. I had been eyeing these at the store for a while, but decided not to get them because I knew if I ever got one I would want them all. I had been doing good in holding out until my wife made the mistake of getting me the Classics Optimus for my birthday. I immediately went out and got the rest that were available localy. I'm sure I'll be out this weekend searching for the rest. I'm really impressed by the quality, they actually look good in both modes.

Yeah I want him too. Although I'm am kind of dissappointed that he is apparently an exact replica of the G1 toy seeing as how they've done such a good job updating the others in the line. The new jets are vastly superior to their G1 models. I still have some of the original jets and their robot modes are really pretty weak by comparison.

Is the Ultra Magnus in that set the same size as the voyager class prime? If so that's a great price for the set. It's like getting Shywarp for free.

Yes in fact he's a repaint. Same with Skywarp. He's a repaint of Starscream. It's bascially you buy Ultra magnus and get Skywarp for free. I think it's a very good set.

yeah, the jets are great, i have all of them. soundwave isn't an exact replica in that he fits tow tapes in his chest instead of just one. he comes with both laserbeak and ravage, who both fit in the chest compartment at the same time.

Bought the commemorative edition Soundwave today. He's great and Ravage and Laserbeak rock! He looks surprisingly good with the rest of the classics line. I was afraid that since he is essentially identical to his G1 toy he would look out of place with updated classics. He's on scale with voyager class in bot form and fits right in with the rest. My only complaint, the knees are only hinged to go backwards, so only poses with straight legs are possible. Still he looks good with Laserbeak perched on his arm. He even comes with the original sticker sheet.
Also picked up a Windcharger from the Heros of Cybertron line, that I didn't know existed. I just happened to find them while I was walking down the Matchbox/Hotwheels isle at Wal-mart, they weren't with the rest of the TF stuff. They're pretty cool, they're replicas of the G1 mini car toys. Bumblebee, Cliffjumper, Windcharger, and Brawn are in the set, I think they are intended to be keychains. Anyway I got WC because he was the first TF I ever owed as a kid and they were only 2.97.

Right, I've been expecting to see it any time now. A poster on Seibertron.com reported spotting it on the shelves last month in GA.
On a side note, I have been trying to find some pictures of the Devastator from the Universe line. Not the mini version with six figures, but the larger version that is comprised on four figures. The individual figures look good, but I can't find any pic of them combined. According to a review they can be combined in multiple ways to form various forms of Devastator. If anyone has this version of knows where I can find pic let me know. Thanks.
