if your undecided than read this. im gonna compile a list of launch games and ps3 exclusives. also system specs just so you know what your going to buy also the sytem comes out in the us on november 17th


the system comes in 2 configurations and it comes in only one color opaque black. opaue means its semi transparent if light shines threw you can see threw the casing of the system. now onto the configurations


20gb - this model sells for 499. it has 1 hdmi port a comonent.composite cable port. has no built in wifi, no flash care readers or memory slots.

60gb - this model sells for 599, it has 1 hdmi prty a component/composite cable port. has built in wifi flash card readers and memory slots

You should never buy merchandise fresh off the assembly line. Wait a month or so to see what happens with its software, if **** breaks down, if something is recalled, etc.

For me there's no reason to get it right now. Just like with the PS2, I waited bc I was still satisfied with my PS1. The only PS3 title I would pick up is Marvel Ultimate Alliance and thats coming for PS2 so I can deal with 2 less characters and current gen graphics. Right now for PS2, I have Final Fantasy 12, MuA, Justice League Heroes, Bully, and God of War 2 to look forward too. Not to mention some other good games that I have yet to play through. I wont need a PS3 till later next year when GTA4, MGS4 and FFXIII are released.

LOL...I never bought an original MGS. I always got the extended editions. Depending on what's out at the time, I just might do it with MGS4

I have yet to see a game that justifies dropping $600 for a PS3, waited until I got could a PS2 for less than $100 on eBay, probably what I'll do for a PS3. Got a 360 for next-gen games graphically and I'll get a Wii for next-gen gameplay.

It's basically an wildlife simulator where you're going to be able to experience it through many different species and points of view. Not sure how 'zen' or difused or focused it's going to be, but it's basically implied that it' going to an 'experience' game.

When asked what Afrika is really all about, Harrison immediately answers, "Africa allows you to experience a very interesting part of the world, a safari in the plains of Africa. The gameplay is entirely non-violent. You don't kill the animals. It emphasizes the positives rather than the negatives."

Also, if you happen to have watched Afrika's trailer, you might be wondering what's up with the guy riding a jeep at the end? Harrison divulges that it would be "one of the people gamers will control" but stopped himself from saying anymore. "It's about collecting experiences and keeping them for posterity," he added.

no those arnt my reasons, if it were on any other system id still get it. i love afrkia cuz of the amazing ai, those animals looked soo realistic, i showed the demo to my friend from a far dostacnce and hes like why are you waching a nature documantary than when i said look again he was like HOLY **** ITS A VIDEOGAME ISNT IT!

and i was like yup, they did an amazing job on the teaser vid and trailer


and iv plaed full auto, its prety good, i liked it. cuz it was fun not cuz its coming out on the ps3

well all i know is you play as that guy in the jeep, some people think that hes a wild life preserver, filming a documantary about animal habits and such.

some also think your givin the task of opening a preserve and you have to capture the animals and bring them to the preserve so poachers cant get them.

and some think you switch from human to animal and see what its like in the eyes of varius animals. catching deer as a lion would be insane, run after them and pounce

That was my plan at first... I will just wait now. Hell, most of my friends didnt get a ps2 until last year.

I can wait for the PS3 to reach a price I think is right.

MGS4 is going to be one of the games of the generation, just like MGS3 and 1 were. Can't wait for my PS3 plus all the awesome other features it will have.

I'll think about getting one once the price drops, because I really do love some of the Sony exclusive series (Final Fantasy, Metal Gear), but for now it's gonna be a good old Wii and 360 for me.

600 dollars is just far too much for a video game system period. And that's what I want, a video game system, not a multitasking unit. If I wanted that, I'd use my computer to play games more often. :o

The only games that i'm interested in are Final Fantasy, MGS4, White Knight Story, Gundam, Eight Days and Heavenly Sword. MGS4 and Final Fantasy won't be out anytime soon, and the rest I can wait for.

If God Of War 2 was coming out for PS3, I would. For me to buy it now, the good version of the console would have to be at least 250 and, you know, have GOOD games.

Now that is one PS3 game I simply can't wait for. Even if I somehow manage to hold out of buying a PS3 until then, the day God of War 3 hits stores will be the day I'll be playing it in the undisturbed confines of my room no matter what. :cmad::up:

^ lol, all i know is David Jaffe intends on making god of war a trilogy, maybe hell even do spin offs which would seem so after reading his quote, if i can only find the link to it. well he said he intends to make more god of war games.

well seeing as god of war II will be the last killer app for ps2, its obvious that god of war 3 will definitely be on ps3, im hoping they make a god of war for psp was well.

i am going to wait until Metal Gear Solid 4 comes out and well the price dropping and also the time when i could use my discount in gamestop (yea i work there)

I think this thread is evidence that the only thing the PS3 REALLY has going for it right now is MGS4... which I'm not complaining about seeing as its the only reason why I'm getting one too. :o
