I don't know if he is Sylar or not. One thing I do wonder though is; did he kill Claire's parents?

Episode three has that black guy at the bar with the cop who hears voices, I think that guy is Sylar cause it seems he had the telekentic power to knock him off his butt in the bar. I think that Claires parents are probably MIA some where, and MR. Bennett is the ultimate bad guy in this season that is going to have unlocked some new power inside himself towards the end.

I think he want thier DNA to make his own Heroes...maybe.

So this guy's intentions aren't evil, it's just his methods that seem sketchy?

After last night's episode. The guy seems to be on the good side. It seems like he's either collecting all these heroes to fight Sylar or that he's hoping one of them is Sylar. He just needs another method on how he does things.

So, does HRG have power-blocking power? Is it just the Haitian?

Are his glasses, "special glasses"?

It became pretty obvious to me last night that hrg's job is to examine the "heroes" and figure out whether or not they are dangerous and if they are, execute them. He's working for a higher power though (remember the phone call he received last night telling him to keep sylar alive). If they are not dangerous he erases their mind so they don't remember the exam and lets them go on their way. Now the question is who did he get the phone call from. Linderman perhaps?

HRG is NOT the blocker
otherwise, he would be on Chandra's list
blocking is the Haitian's game

EDIT: FURTHERMORE.....from an interview with the show's producers:

When Mr. Bennet was interviewing Eden with the Haitian after he captured her, was it the Haitian's powers that blocked her abilities? Or does Mr. Bennet have some secret abilities of his own?

Haitian. Same as he did with Matt in Episode 4. And we know what you’re going to say… “But, Matt heard HRG think the name, Claire, in episode 4.” And you’re right. Matt broke through the Haitian’s defenses and heard a word. The Haitian isn’t perfect. Geez. Give the man a break.

What's going to happen to HRG now that he's alone face to face with Sylar?

A couple people have noted his little speech to Claire, "I'll always be there for you, even when you're 64, blah blah" Is there something to it? Does he not age? Could those anachronistic glasses actually be his from the fifties? Probably not, but what do you think?

Also, is there a reason he's so over-protective of Claire, aside from being her parent? It seems excessive, like he's willing to protect Claire at the cost of anyone or anything - but why? Does he know she'll save the world?

Maybe immortality is HRG's superpower.

I think he was just saying that he'd always be there for her. Nothing more to it than that.

Maybe immortality is HRG's superpower.

Depending on what limits they set to her healing factor, that may very well end up being the best description for Claire's power.

Heh. Interesting. Mr. Bennet could have a power indeed... that would be pretty danged cool... and explain his lack of a last name. The Wolverine family?

The glasses have to do something, maybe they allow him to detect the isotope implanted on the "heroes".

Did anyone else listen to his voicemail? You can find it here:

There is 6 in total. 4 of them are saying that they "are on to him". One of them is from Claire's teacher (voicemail 002) - probably about her ditching school. The other one (voicemail 003) is about Claire get hit by a bus.

I wonder how he can live with himself after what happened to his wife, there must be more to that, he has conviction, what happened to her barely registered, it's clear he loves his family, but has some higher purpose, what could it be, ideas?

Claire changed his life from company man to family man, I guess the glasses represent that and nothing more.

See, my theory is that the glasses represent his desire to see better. See, his vision isn't what it used to be, and the glasses correct that, so he can see better. Deep, aint it?

What's Mr. Bennett going to do in season 2?

He's gonna kick ass. All season long. Hopefully.

Weird that my favorite character on the show is one of the guys with no powers. He's cool as hell though, I'd like to see Jack Coleman get an Emmy nod or something.

Any of you think they are going find a way to give him powers this season?
This show will definitely jump the shark the moment they do that.
