Somebody Please tell me!!!

I just flipped thru a copy of the TPB "Demon in a Bottle". I had those issues years ago when they came out but lost them somewhere along the way. Someone tell me this: how could someone draw Ironman so beautifully and suck so bad drawing Spidey? JRJR was probably THE best IM artist IMO from looking at those books. I mean, absolutely gorgeous! Then he draws Spider-Man and you can't even tell it's the same artist!
How is this possible???

John Romita JR's style evolved quite a bit over time. That, and a large part of the look of the art from his frst run on Iron Man was heavily influenced by Bob Layton's inks.
