Hah, i had to do the SAME thing. Had to part ways with some games i really didnt want to let go of. This game has been worth it so far. Im still not sure how i feel about the MP tho, i mean CT's mp was pretty damn good and iv always believed in the saying of "if it aint broke, dont fix it".

How?? Its impossible to dislike this game if youre a fan of the stealth action genre. It did everything Chaos Theory did, but much better. The only thing i can remotly dislike about this game, is that im not quite sure im feeling the multiplayer, tho i havent played it for long.

I'm enjoying this a lot. It looks fantastic.

My only big complaint is that the JBA HQ is WAY too dark, and since you don't have your nightvision, its practically impossible to complete your NSA assignments as you can't see where you're going, and I'm not crazy about the 3D map. And the choices they made a big deal of don't seem to show up much so far.

But my favourite levels so far are shanghi (the rappel down the building is amazing...the graphics literally left me speechless) , prison break and cruise level.

I'm really looking forward to the war zone level.

I agree it needs to be fleshed out more...but it's a damn good start. It's really tense in the enemy HQ when you are in an off limits area and have to have your wits about you, and have to do your various NSA tasks. It's nerve racking and it made me feel like a real double agent.

Rotate the analogue stick in a circle untill the pins in the lock move. for each pin, you have to find the area on the analogue stick where it starts to rumble, and just fiddle with it untill the pin comes loose, and then repeat for all the pins.

They're all basically the same thing and don't offer much closure. There is one that gives you an extra mission though. I didn't get that one.

I kinda liked the style of endings, with the audio over the end credits, and the swat team breaking in. One ending was shocking in that the NY bomb explodes and kills millions, and sam is implicated! I also got the true ending where you take out both bombs with sam on the run...isnt there another one? how do you get it? and is there any way for erica to become sams love interest? Im sure I read it was possible...



And does lambert die, or what? He doesn't seem to, just be hurt....
but in the PSP version of splinter cell, essentials, he does die...and its treated like that in the storyline too.

to get the explosion, you have to shoot lambert...after defusing one bomb, you're taken into custody. You escape, but by then, Moss had escaped with the second bomb, and instead of giving it to the middle eastern terrorist, it seems he used it on New York. So basically you should get it if you kill lambert...you dont see the explosion, just hear about it and that it killed millions.

and I thought essentials rawked. it is kinda like some of the best missions, some double agent ones (though very different from the 360 versions), sam going to a cemetry to visit his daughters grave as a prologue, the final level is escaping from nsa custody in their hq, and theres some missions with fisher when he was in the navy seals. its really cool.

I have both...Dark mirror is WAY overrated. It's got generic characters and storylines. Essential is the same splinter cell you know and love, just modified slightly for psp controls. Plus it has a real story with all the voice actors and characters :D

But uh, you're treated to like, a half second clip of a silhouette in an alley being rammed by a car speeding in reverse and blamo, that's that. Sam goes emo and gets beat up in the streets and punches a mirror and s**t. :confused:

Annnnd well, I think the pilot doesn't matter but you have to save at least two of the last three choices to get the extra boat mission. The hero ending thing. Anyway Sam escapes in the audio over the creds, I think the SWAT cutscene always stops with Sam and his hands up in the air. Cool to hear about Essentials though. :huh:

In Dark Mirror the controls are totally different though. :( In the other Syphon Filters, you're better off with the lock-on aiming than manual but in Dark Mirror, you're better manually popping shots off than locking on. :huh: And the aiming is a little squirrelly when you're using the scope. Other than that the controls are sweet and the gameplay is pretty awesome for on the go.

So I just finished the Shanghi level on Normal Difficulty, and haven't touched multiplayer yet, and I gotta say I'm LOVING this game! :up:

Best two moments so far for me are the first few times I pulled someone down from under the ice (aw, heck, EVERY time! That'll never get old), and in the Shanghi level while I'm hanging on to the side of the building for dear life.
