I'd say probably The Animated Series, although I'm not entirely sure what "Gotham Knights" is.

It's basically what the Animated Series was renamed when they redesigned the characters, Tim Drake became a little sprite-like Robin, Dick became Nightwing, etc.

Design-wise, TB. Character-wise, BTAS.

The Batman Animated Series version of course.
Although as far as design goes, I prefer the Gotham Knights look.

The Batman as far as the overall design/feel goes.
BTAS is 0.9999999999999 close to beating TB for me... and I do love BTAS. Mainly because that is where MOTP was spawned from.

You mean the Batman with the black bat emblem?
Anyone got pics of the Gotham Knights cartoon? It sounds familiar but I can't place it.

Even design-wise, I can't understand a vote for TB.
Anyway, the show wasn't officially called The Gotham Knights; it was a working title before they called it The New Batman Animated Series.
As for my favorite, my choice is The New Batman Animated Series Batman. Drastically improving over the original run, the TNBAS captured the darker and more morally ambiguous side of the Batman character, yet paradoxically displaying his profound sense of compassion and commitment to Gotham and to the memory of his parents. This was truly a one of a kind cartoon hero; heroes can brood, but is rare that they are obsessive, emotionally repressed, and a bit over the edge. And I just love his gritty look, especially in some of the episodes. The new design gives the impression of a pillar of darkness.
But I should also point out that I consider the JL/JLU Batman and BB Bruce Wayne/Batman to be part of the TNBAS Batman because it continues and develops the same brilliant characterization.
So, anyone reading this might be thinking where my praise is of the BTAS Batman. The truth is, I don't have any praise for it. It was a great series, but Batman himself was very bland at times and fell a little flat overall. The series did more for the villains than it did for Batman. But I can definitely understand why many people like the original.
I agree. As great as BTAS was, TNBAS improved on it.

Animated Series by far.
I love the designs of all the characters, especially Batman (duh), Joker, Mr Freeze (designed by Mingola if I'm not mistaking) and so forth. Hell, they even made Clayface an awesome villain.

BTAS and TNBA are the best cartoons based on a comic character. ever. i understand why some people may like the batman, but i can't stand it. it's like one giant toy commercial to the point where all his equipment looks like he bought it at toys r us. and the villain designs leave much to be desidred.

I kind of like the Batman design from JL/JLU. Gives him a better and more scary appearence in the shadows. Plus he was protrayed as a badass more so than before. He always had great quotes.
"My mind isn't a very nice place to be....."
"I haven't been a kid since I was eight years old...."

Batman: TAS was awesome, it totally shattered what I saw in the reruns of the old live-action show and what I saw on old Superfriends tapes. The way he spoke and carried himself made me think I was watching the comic. It's probably the best superhero-based show I've ever seen.

I'd say it's probably the second best comic book cartoon maybe, Spawn still takes the biscuit for moi!

Why no Batman Beyond that was my favorite verison of the animated Batmansi don't think it should be included in this poll, it's a good look but it's suited for terry more than bruce.
and you aren't going to find many people who prefer terry to bruce.

he was too stiff in tas
he was way too bulky in TNBA:gotham knights
in the justice league his ears were too long and he looked far too slick.
batman beyond had the best look in tas overall but it suited mcguiness better than bruce. Saying this, he had the best batarang i've EVER seen, that folding out design was genius. Also i feel he had the coolest batmobile seconded only the original tas (which had the best batwing and batcycle).
the batman has the best bruce wayne design and also the best flowing batman and the second best batarang design (i love how he uses them as sias also in combat). This has really come through in its fourth season since they started to square up bruce's jaw to show an extra bit of maturity me thinks pics to come...

People who like The Batman have mental problems.
BTAS looks the best with the expection of the Batman and Joker redesigns from TNBA. Those twio were the only improvments imo. I didn't like how TNBA made all the villains more exaggerated and inhuman - Catwoman and Ivy are pale and sinister looking, Freeze is a friggin head on spider legs, Croc got bigger and turned green and nastier.
http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g74/ngorsh01/bat/tasbats.jpg
TNBA also ditched alot of the 'dark deco' painted imagery and styling. Which I loved. It became more of the generic DCtoonverse style.

i think the thread name is misleading in comparison to actually what was asked of us in the opening post.
