How would you feel about a rewritten Mon-El storyline for the next movie? Mon-El could be a villain that in the end becomes Supermans friend. Its time to populate the DC universe with more super powered people.

nevertheless, we don't need another superhero in the movie besides Superman... this is a movie about Superman, not his friends... keep it that way.

Who in the blue hell is Mon-El? I guess you don't read DC comics.

well, a lot of us read comics... but some of us just aren't well informed on characters from the Silver Age...

Super villains, yes, bring 'em on.

he's not a supevillain... he's another superhero.

But he could be written as a villain that turns goods. Lex could be the manipulator.

eh, I want to see a movie that revolves around Superman, not someone else...

Yeah because Mon-El is a huge character in the comics and him and Superman are always teaming up to fight the forces of evil. I do read comics, just not The Adventures of Mon-El.

well, in the Silver Age he was... I think...

Wouldn't know, he might have been, but I have never seen anything Silver Age with him in it.

Richard Donner tells about what his plans were for Superman 3 & 4. That he's now going to use in the upcoming Action Comics he is co-writing.

Donner and writer Tom Mankiewicz didn't intend to stop at just two movies, either. They had ideas for at least two more if the franchise kept going up, up and away. And some of those cocktail napkin ideas are going into Donner and Johns' run on Action Comics, which is being drawn by artist Adam Kubert.

Two things both of them can agree on: they will continue their run indefinitely, as long as their schedules will allow it, and the details of their devious schemes for Superman are not for the ears of a snooping reporter from the Daily News. What can be divulged is that the first storyline involves a mysterious alien boy (Mon-el? ) in the aforementioned rocket ship who crash-lands in Superman's hometown of Metropolis and may or may not be a second survivor from Krypton.
Future issues will feature incursions by Bizarro, the equally powerful photonegative of Superman, and Brainiac, an evil artificial intelligence.

Will Singer use his old idea's?

i hope not... he needs to do something original and not copy someone else's idea.

Don't people want to see a fleshed out universe? With cameos etc. I sure do.

Super Kal

no... I don't want to see cameos because they don't belong in a Superman movie. It takes away from the character himself... are you that bored with Superman already to have another character make an appearance?

Norm3

I want the same thing in the Marvel movie universe. I hate the way theses movie act like there are no other heros in it.

well, that's just the point... this is not Mon-El's movie, it's Superman's. It's the reason why you don't see Superman in a Batman movie, or Batman in a Superman movie. Adding other heroes into a Superman movie takes the focus away from Superman... it's Superman's movie, and it should just be about him.

How would cameos take the focus away from Superman? Cameos actually make the Superman world look bigger, as it isn't just Superman in his own world, he's in a world where there are others.

you don't see cameos in Batman's movie because it takes the focus away... it's like saying "This is a Superman movie... blah blah, blah... oh, wait! look over here! Something that has nothing to do with this Superman movie!" it takes away from the entire Superman feel... this is Superman's movie, Not Batman's, or Mon-El's, or any other superhero's movie.

Superman only please.

The only cameo's I would like to see in a Superman movie would be for the set up of villians or the set up of other superhero movies.

yes, I do, but not your way (which is the wrong way)

Step 1)Each hero needs to be introduced in their own franchise, and with that one gets a number of villains. (were talking atleast 3-4 movies, spread out over as many franchises.)

Step 2)Once these franchises are successfully established, it becomes possible for crossovers between franchises. This should be done first with villains that would logically crossover to fight different heros (an example from the marvel franchises would be having Spiderman vs. Kingpin at some point) (we're talking 2-3 movies with crossovers)

Step 3)would be after the villain crossovers have occured a couple of times, then a superhero team up (maybe 1 or 2 movies)

Step 4) (the most impossible, and insanely expensive movie) would be a justice league movie. But there would have to be 7-9 movies made as a background foundation for this movie to be built on.

I'm all for fleshing out the universe, but it has to be done properly IMO. If you want token cameos, go watch smallville, that's what it is there for. When I'm watching theatre quality movies, I want all the dominos to be in the right spot before flicking them over.

Put Kal-El and Mon-El together, and they'd end up sounding like Huey and Dewy. lol sorry, Mon-El sounds too much like a rip off the Superman comics.
