Hey yall.

I'm making a dvd slideshow type thing for my family (which I may also be able to use for extra credit in a class of mine) and I need songs to go on it.

I figured I'd ask you smart people for some assistance. It's going to be about 45 minutes longs, so I'm going to need a couple songs.

I need songs relating to home, family, memories, stuff like that.

Some of the ones I am considering :

Carolina In My Mind (one of my fave songs ever, and where family is from)
Green Grass of Home
Mayberry
Dont Forget to Remember Me
Sweet Southern Comfort
Who Says You Can't Go Home

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

thanks for the help.

the dvd will have photos spreading from the 1910s-today. so i have a ton of pics that i'm weeding down.

my family is from carolina, and tight-knit. we've had reunions since the 40s at least and have it in the very same house that my great grandparents owned. My dad was born in that house. family means a lot to us, so i am trying to find songs to go with that.

one of the songs i was thinking of using is Dance With My Father, but I don't know if that'd make ppl cry or not.

I think I'm going to add Remember When by Alan Jackson to my list.

I'm cutting it down to the Wire, i gotta finish by Thursday nite cuz I'm going to North Carolina Friday for a reunion.

So far I have:
Part 1- Carolina In My Mind- James Taylor
2- Green Grass of Home- Kenny Rogers
3- Daddy's Hands- ??? (female)
4- Take Me Home Country Roads- John Denver
5- Don't Forget to Remember Me- Carrie Underwood

and I'm working on Part 6 now, and using Mayberry by Rascal Flatts. I'm up to the 1980s now in my dvd

Are you looking for Folk, Country or Rock & Roll?

one of the old standards is Memories (light the corners of my mind)

some other choices:
Photograph - Def Leppard
Time After Time - Cyndi Lauper
In Your Eyes - Peter Gabriel
Time in a Bottle - Jim Croce

i was going for music along those genres of music mostly because they'd appeal more to the majority of my relatives.

you wouldnt happen to know the author of the memories song would you? i'd like to look it up. and i will check out you other suggestions.

Helps if you have the right title:

"The Way We Were" - Barbara Streisand

Here's Aretha Franklin's version of the song

no, I'd like a local but competant caucasion actor between the ages of 18 and 25 who is free for the next 4 weekends (excluding thanksgiving).

If you want to get all Tarantino(y ?) there are lots of things you can do with music.
It all depends on the tone of your video.

But you can make it really cool if you choose some off the wall tunes

ComicChick

well for future attempts, i might try to do that. but for this i was just making a simple photo slideshow with transistions with background music.

i tried to pic songs that had a similar theme and since most pics are chronological, i tried to pick songs to match the time frame.
