Is anyone here currently playing this game? I'm going back and forth on whether to buy it or not.

well wait a few months.
not because the game aint good, and some can actually play the game, but some of us, like me can't, there's a bug where different NPCs aint spawning, which means I can't progress in the campaign.

Ouch...not good. And, just from taking a quick look at some of the forums, it seems like there are some other pretty serious issues that need to be worked out, as well. I think I will wait for them to fix some of the problems.

Thanks for the info.

wait for January I'm thinking.
it's a real shame too, for I was hooked, and then the bug put a big ass stopper for the fun.

I've had no problems with it. Its a super awesome game, way better than the first if you're in it for the single player campaign. I've heard multiplayer is all screwed up though. I wouldn't know I don't play multiplayer.

I am going to get this game, even if it kills me.

I've had nothing but issues with this game as it crashes my system a lot, and I get the Physical Dump Memory blue screen. I have the DVD ROM version however, and in my haste to get the game should have looked to make sure I was getting the CD version. I may go back and get the CD version, but I'm not sure that would make a difference. My system does have the requirements to play the game, so I'm not sure why I'm having issues. Maybe it's just a bad disc.

It's too bad, as I really enjoyed the first NWN and I was looking forward to playing this game as well.

Fair Warning, this game has probably the WORST ending in gaming history. It's still pretty fun in my opinion, but the ending, wow.

And it's nominated for best story on gamespot...and won...I voted for Final Fantasy XII.

I just wish I could play the game, but that doesn't seem to be in the cards. I've currently got 512 RAM, but may need to boost that up to 1 gig on my Dell PC.

KotOR 2, The Longest Journey, Final Fantasy VIII, all had worse endings. Just because its a cliffhanger doesn't mean its bad. Chances are they were just leaving it open for the expansion.

There was an unstable planar portal there, and all sorts of talk about the planes throughout the game. What better setting for epic level adventures than planehopping?

I liked it, and I played it. Some of the NPC's that are your henchmen have some great dialogue (Khelgar, Neeshka), but the ending is rather weak. However, I think the production team had a sequel in mind.

The expansion, which will come out in the fall will be called Mask of The Betrayers, and supposedly picks up after the ending of NWN2. It will be interesting to see how the main character gets out of the ending of NWN2.

If you do get the game, make sure you have at least 1+ gig of RAM, and a decent video card. I have an nVidia 7300, and still it was choppy in some areas.

Baldurs Gate had the worst ending in gaming history.

Beat the end boss, game pauses and says "You win, your character has been saved for future use."

If by down the drain you mean better than the original in almost every way, then I agree!

The only parts worse than NWN1 are custom content support, which will be fixed when the granny plugin hits, and framerate issues, which get a little bit better with every patch, but I doubt will ever get to the point where it can run as smooth as the original.

Well, Mask of the Betrayer (first expansion if you don't know what I'm talking about)just came out, though its been out in europe for at least a week. I downloaded it a week ago because I was too impatient, was going to buy it today but its been delayed in Canada. The story is the best RPG story since Planescape: Torment, they vastly improved load times and optimization. Voice acting is SUPERB. They have all new music... its better than the original game. Only bad things are a couple annoying bugs that will likely be fixed in the first patch, and the lack of inter-party banter.

Its amazing that one of the best RPGs in the last 5-10 years, is an expansion pack.

Nice. I'll be out of town for 2 months on business, but when I get back, this will be on my shortlist. I briefly watched my friend playing some early stages of the game, and it looked really good.

I'm debating whether or not I should put my Hellgate: London money towards this instead. It looks great.

You need a pretty damn good vid card to run this game.It isnt that the graphics are all that insane,They just made the open areas too damn big,..
If they broke them all down smaller and had more load screens between forests and cities ,it wouldnt run so hard.As it stands now,The settings on my card have to be as such that my sky always looks like its made up of Legos

Its not so bad anymore, they've made a lot of performance improvements in the patches, and the expansion I can run on almost full specs at 25 fps (which is better than the original campaigns 15 fps on half specs) And the areas are bigger. And all I have is a 7600 GT
