I was watching TV and saw a commercial for Star Wars Transformers toys. Anybody else seen these?

What are they thinking?

They've been out for a year or so now...

...isn't this the wrong subforum?

Apart from that, I have a couple, but I use them mostly as drawing references to make them cooler-looking than they really are.

that General Grievous is good. Darth Vador is terrible.

I honestly think that it's a very good idea. Star Wars is as known for its vehicles as it is for its characters, so Transformers are a natural fit. And while this line may not be a big hit with collectors, let me tell you this. Kids love it. The line has sold very well to kids in my area, and really, shouldn't that be what's most important about toys? That they appeal to kids?

Apparently, Hasbro agrees: http://jediinsider.com/index.php?catid=8&itemid=9957

Wonder if this means we'll see a Blockade Runner that transforms into a robotic Princess Leia? Hey, it may be the closest we ever get to a toy of Spaceball-1...:woot:

it would be a much cooler idea to have Star Wars Vehicles that transform into Transformer characters. you could have Optimus Prime as the Millenium Falcon, Starscream as a tie Interceptor, Unicron as the Death Star, etc...

i bet those would be popular with kids as well as collectors.

I have the Vader/TieFighter and the Luke/X-wing. The Vader is okay, but the Luke is very fragile on bot form. I leave him in vehicle mode. Being a fan of transformers and starwars I thought it was a great idea. I may pick up the Milleniem Falcon, apparently it didn't sell well around here or the stores severly overstocked them. Every dept store in this area has mass amounts of them on clearance some for as low as 12.00. I agree with cryptic name about having them turn into TF characters, much cooler.

I've seen them around but I'm far from being tempted to buy.
