ok, here's my fantasy jla movie....and i'm sure it'll get torn the phuck apart here...but i'm posting it cuz i just wanted to get it out of my head.


First off, it's just the big 7. None of these backseat characters. That's just the way I like it. And I wish I knew how to post a picture...but I have no idea what I'm supposed to write in that little bar...anyway....

Superman - I'm down with Brandon Routh...he looks like he could do it in my opinion, and even if I wasn't down, he'd still be Superman and I couldn't think of someone I like better and I'm definitely not down with Welling. So there.

Batman - Christian Bale all the way....maybe he and Routh will look a little strange next to one another, but I don't care...this is a fantasy anyway and Bale is the schit.

Wonder Woman - I don't care what ANYBODY says. Wonder Woman is Jennifer Connelly. Period. Case Closed. She's talented, she's beautiful, and I just saw her in The House of Sand and Fog and she still looks it. She can DEFINITELY do it.

The Flash - This is a personal favorite because to me it seems like he'd be a great pick, and I think I saw him cast in Wizard once too. Eric Stoltz. Booya.

Green Lantern - I prefer the Kyle Raynor GL to John Stewart, so thanks to GL-Corps #28, I think Wes Bentley is a great choice.

Martian Manhunter - I like this one almost as much as The Flash. I think Lawrence Fishburne should be Martian Manhunter. I always pictured MM as a black guy anyway, and I prefer it that way. He would be perfect. Though he is in some schit movies, Larry's got plenty of good ones on his resume and I know he'd be awesome in all that green makeup...though he might hate all those hours in the chair.

Aquaman - I dig the bearded, scrubby Aquaman with the hook on his hand. And I actually can't remember if I ever thought of a good candidate for Aquaman, but I'm liking Sean Bean there.

That makes the big 7. And a damned good big 7 at that (my opinion, of course)

Now...villains. The only villains I think would be amazing for a JLA movie would be either Darkseid, that one issue with the White Martians (that was AWESOME), or the whole Heaven/Hell thing...that would kick major ass. Imagine a live-action version of Superman wrestling with an angel. That's entertainment. As for casting those guys, I'm still on that...

By the way, maybe someone could do me the favor of posting pics of the people I picked next to a pic of their respective counterparts just to further illustrate my idea?

Superman: Routh.
I was hoping for Caveziel, I thought he and Bale would have been absolutley perfect in a World's Finest flick, but Routh does seem to have a decent look for a younger Superman. Plus, he's who the studios catsed, so I'm absolutely fine with your pck there.

Batman: Bale. Obviously, I agree with you here. There are like eight people on the planet who don't want Bale to be Batman.

Wonder Woman: Connelly. I don't really see it, but I know what you mean with not being able to imagine anybody else for a part. There aren't any obvious choices really, you can either go for a good actress who doesn't look the part, or a model who can't act for s**t.

Flash: Stoltz. Well, he does kind of look like Barry, but I think he's just too old for the part now. I was thinking Ryan Reynolds, he's got charisma, he's funny, and he seems to be a pretty good actor. If he does good with the drama and action in Blade III, then he'll definitely be my choice.

Martian Manhunter: Fishburne. Awesome choice, he's been my pick forever. His voice is just great, he's got that perfect wise, calm persona who can kick your ass if you really piss him off.

Aquaman: Bean. I like the Morrison Aquaman the best too, and your pick works well for him. Good choice.

we're thinking people who aren't just really, really, really ridiculously good looking. If you're going to mention monica bellucci, try to keep the fact that she's gorgeous second to the fact that she's actually a phenomenal actress.

samuel l jackson is a VERY kick ass guy and i love him in a lot of movies, but do you really think he could play a green lantern? with curse words cut out of his vocabulary, he might find himself at a loss for words or inflection. and that's not to say he's a bad actor at all....just not right for a superhero. wanting a black guy is fine with me...just pick someone that actually fits.

aquaman is not a gay superhero. yea he was on the superfriends...but so were all the other ones. aquaman is a gruff, badass mofo that will kick your friggin arse. he's royalty, too....don't phuck with that.

vin diesel in, on, around, or among any movie creates a sound that resembles the one when you suck through a straw and you've finished your drink and a smell that resembles the one the morbidly obese guy you always see at Burger King must leave after sitting on the toilet for 45 minutes mixed with that juice you get from a garbage bag when it rains. so please...take that horrible putrid schit out.

I know Cuthbert is a probelm because of her age(I was thinking maybe Power Girl for her now that you said something) but I was fresh out of ideas

I think there is a danger in casting people who look the part but act like meatheads or think they are funny .. which in my opinion occupies your list highly but most of them look the part, id never use, angelina jolie(overacts/dramatises)jim carrey (thinks he is a bit funnier than he is,comes off as dumb sometimes), johnny knoxville (WTF!!!),hillary duff (no no no! someone who can act and be taken seriously)kristanna loken (meathead female version! the female vin diesel) vin diesel(the single worst actor ive seen embraced by hollywood in the last decade..if he wasnt muscly as hell he would never be employed) HUGO weaving EXcellent Choice!! as are the others!! taye diggs is a good black actor and could play a superhero but doesnt have the vibe for john stewart, stewart has more of a wisdom/maturity in his look.. i think morris chestnut

Angelina Jolie-i personally think she's a good actress
Jim Carrey- He is overlooked in his acting ability because everyone would rather see a comedy by him.
Johnny Knoxville- He surprised me in Walking Tall. I thought he perfromed well. Besides, its the Creeper. He just has to act like himself.
Hillary Duff- guilty, i casted on looks.
Kristanna Loken- I have yet to see her in anything but T3 so I cant really say right now. I casted on lookis again.
Vin Diesel- I'm not too familiar with the Red Tornado but isnt he a robot. How mnay emotions would he have to show? This is the same reason why Arnold is good in Terminator. Theres no range in the character. You just say the lines.

Part of me wants to say that the movie should be the Big Seven.

However, with the solo films (Batman and Superman and possibly WW), you never know how they would fit in to a JLA movie. So, maybe it could be like the "League within a League" squad from IC... GL (Hal Jordan), Flash (Barry Allen), Zatanna, Hawkman, Green Arrow, and The Atom.

Superman: Josh Duhamel (now, I have nothing against Routh for the Superman movie. It's onl that I know NOTHING about his acting. So, I went for someone a little more mature-looking that I have seen act. I really think Duhamel would nail this part, plus he's not an a-lister, so he doesn't bring baggage to the role)

Maybe have the movie start off with The Justice League already as a popular super team. They have a huge roster but the movie zeroes in on 4 MAJOR characters. Wonder Woman, Batman, Superman, and for comedy relief The Flash.

It is only towards the end that the league finds out that Prometheus' boss and the new motivational speaker/public figure, Vandal Savage, are one and the same.

My JL movie would have the team up of Batman (Bale), Superman (Routh), WW (Connelly), Flash (Reynolds), the Martian (Fishburne), Hal Jordan (Browder), and Aquaman (don't know yet).

I'd have Lex (Spacey) as President collaborating with the ruler of Apokolips Darkseid (voice of Michael Ironside) to either rule Earth or turn it into a firepit filled wasteland like Apokolips. Darkseid would have his regular cronies (Granny Goodness and the others) and Luthor would recruit some supervillains from Earth (Hector Hammond, Parasite, Silver Banshee, Deathstroke, and maybe Prometheus.

There'd be climactic battles fought in space, on Earth, and the final showdown occurs when Darkseid betrays Luthor and shoots him with his omega beams. We won't know if Lex teleported out of the way or if he was really destroyed.

Oh balls did i say GL? I meant Green Arrow. Oops. Anyways go rent the first Blade. He is the cowboy vampire guy thats the main henchman for the whole movie. Slim as hell and he really gets into the physical stuff and is badass and stuff.

I see what you are saying about Simmons but look at it this way... even tho he is green he is gonna spend the whole movie shirtless, so you win big-time. :p

GL(John Stewart) - Taye Diggs. I like this guy. That's all.

GL(Kyle Rayner) - THe first man that comes to mind is Colin Farrell. I realize he's too old(seeing as how he's about the same age as Bailey), so that's why i'm a little apprehensive about the casting decision, but it's only fantasy, so who cares. That Tyler Hoechilin(I'm not sure if that's the name) might be ok too, but seems more like a Robin to me.

Wonder Woman - Jennifer Connelly and Monica Bellucci are really the only candidates that come to mind. Both beautiful, tremendous actors, with amazing sex appeal(although I happen to lean more toward Connelly). Those are pretty much all the prerequisites to being a good WW.

Martian Manhunter - Djimon Honsou. Nuff said.

1. Jennifer Garner is done with comic book movies after Elektra (unless by some miracle DD2 is made).

2. Liam Nesson is done with superhero movies after Batman Begins (unless they bring Ra's back to have some big epic story involving Talia).

3. I don't think Bale who wnats to keep Batman dark and have a low gritty "low budget" feel (though it has a huge budget) would want this for the Batman after Batman Begins (nor would Nolan).

I say leave Batman out and have a story oriented on Superman forming his Justice League and offering it to batman who after a scuffle and proving even he can go toe to toe with Superman tells him to **** off. Then he gets the Flash and Wonder Woman and Green Lanturn (who will never have his own movie unless a spoof so this needs to be made first) and get Hawkgirl and someone else and together they fight either the Legion of Doom (but with No Lex Luthor) or better yet the coming of Darkseid in this film.

Great casting choice for Blue Beetle and Booster Gold, those two guys are great. My all time favorite Justice League is with them in it! (The late 80's (1987) Early 90's comics) Owen Wilson is hilarious, every single movie he is in, he just has me busting out laughing. Martian Manhunter-20years ago i would have suggested Sidney Portier, but now, I will choose a current actor who I think will one day reach his status, some of you will probably scream for the lynch mob, but I'm choosing Jamie Foxx. He's shown in the past year that he has some serious acting chops.
Aquaman-Sean Bean was born for this role.
Plastic Man-John Turturro is probably the best real actor for this part.


I think the villains for the first one should be the Hyperclan from JLA issues 1-4. They all have powers that rival each of the leaguers, and they'd be a good way to bring in cameos that would introduce audiences to lesser known heroes.

Val Kilmer for this role. I know many of you don't want Val anywhere near a DC movie ever again, but in the story, Protex is described as looking like Jim Morrison, and since Val played Jim Morrison, it's just natural

Fluxus
Fluxus masqueraded as the "shape-changer" of the Hyperclan group.
Ice Cube. He's a natural for this role. He's the tough guy of the group.

A-Mortal
A-Mortal is a frightening physical presence in the Hyperclan.
Sam Rockwell just because he can be creepy in any role they put him in.

Tronix
Tronix seemed like the groups "blaster." She employed her Heat Vision as her primary attack. It was powerful enough to significantly harm Wonder Woman.
Grace Jones for this character. She's just always had badass basically tattooed on her forehead.

Zum
Zum was quite obviously the speedster of the group.
Tim Blake Nelson, he played Delmar from Oh Brother Where Art Thou. I just think he could pull this character off perfectly.(Coincidently, I think he'd make an awesome Professor Zoom in the Flash movie too.)

Zenturion
Zenturion appeared to be the team's weapon's master.
Chow Yun Fat has showed in the past that he's comfortable with weapons, and he's a good action actor as well.

Armek

Armek disguised himself as a very large armored/robotic hero in the Hyperclan.
Michael Clarke Duncan is perfect for this role. Not just because he's big, but he can do badass too.

Primaid
Primaid had no distinguising powers in the Hyperclan but was one of the more proficient fighters of the group. Physically, she was only closely beaten by Wonder Woman.
For this role, I'd cast someone of near perfection physical attributes. I'm talking Supermodel looks. For this role. I'd choose Kristanna Loken. She can do villain and she's played tough before, and she's incredibly beautiful.

Ok, I'm gonna do a cast without using anyone who is already definitely cast for a character in the film (so no Bale, Routh, Welling, etc)

Superman: Josh Duhamel (started acting on a soap, was so good that he got his own show- Las Vegas; tall, muscular, but not bodybuilder, handsome)
Batman: David Boreanaz (I just really got into Angel- I'm half-way through the 3rd season now- but seriously, it seems like they modeled so much of his persona after Batman, like the way he stalks on rooftops, the brooding, the flowing coat which could easily be a cape; plus, the guy is like 35, which is about the age Batman should be)
Wonder Woman: Jennifer Connelly (beautiful, has that kinda timeless beauty to her, great actress, plus she could definitely fill the chest plate)
Flash: Ryan Reynolds (love this guy; he's funny, but I'd love to see him show some heart as the Flash; his body was ripped in Blade Trinity, and did some convincing action in that)
Martian Manhunter: Michael Dorn (Worf from Star Trek: TNG and DS9; the few times I've watched those shows, it seems like he'd be great for MM; he has such a powerful voice, and that seems to be what most people use in their casting for MM)
Green Lantern: Henry Simmons (I just can't argue with that after seeing the pics)
Aquaman: Sean Bean (great actor, I think he looks the part, and he is no stranger to battle)

Micheal Dorn would be a good choice to step in and play The Martian Manhunter, although I chose Tyler Mane for my pick.
