For those unfamiliar with my posts, that was sarcasm pie with smart-ass frosting.

I dunno if you guys noticed, but the preview for ASM also stated that Spidey is a fugitive on the run... could this be the fallout from the civil war?? Does that mean the registration is in effect? And WHY oh WHY does Marvel insist on revealing things like this too early, they just can't wait to spoil major events for us, curse the internet!

You also may have noticed that the cover obviously says Bye bye MJ... have a nice coma. Either that or they're FINALLY killing off Aunt May for real.

Bah...they're going to ruin something one way or another. They'll either kill off May or MJ, and then they'll have to deal with the impossibility of replacing these characters that have become staples of the Spider-Man mythos through comics and movies. Eventually, someone else will take over and say "We need things back the wat they were"....just like they always do.
This is nothing but a waste of time and another attempt by JMS and Joey Q to "Leave their mark" on the character.
Ugh. I don't miss this book.

It's kind of wierd eh? Such a random theme for the artist, like "Uh ok half the cover in symbiotes, and uh maybe a couple of the silver age baddies that showed up in FNSM, um we'll throw in Kraven over here, yeah he's dead but I like him so he's in .PAD's ****ty Spider-Man 2222 and Hobgoblin in the corner there, and uh how about three Gwen clones right here since we haven't mentioned one in 10 years"

Well, apparently it could be that they all connect somehow to what's upcoming this year, maybe? Let's see...Spider-Man 2122 and Hobgoblin refer to the this year's "Jumping the Tracks" which is then followed up in upcoming issues of Friendly Neighborhood. Plus, since it's all about Spidey's black costume, they're going to feature anyone associated with the black costume, including Venom, Carnage, and the rest of the symbiotes, considering how the alien costume was responsible for creating all of them. And that also explains Kraven to, since "Kraven's Last Hunt" happened when Spidey was in black, and Kraven did pretend to be Spidey after tranquilizing him and burying him alive. As for the Gwen clones, maybe it ties with what's upcoming in Sensational with the extra Spider-Men running around. Or it could be that one is Gwen clone, another Gwen is Sarah Stacy, and the third is Mary Jane in disguise because she, like her husband, is also in hiding--although that certainly would be creepy having your wife dress up like your long dead girlfriend/fiancee.

I hate these movie tie ins. Why do they have to replicate movie plots?? I don't mind giving the villains exposure, but do they have to copy elements from the movie too??
This Uncle Ben killer stuff sounds like BS!

Ah, but remember "Jumping the Tracks"...or maybe you didn't want to? Anyway, there were TWO Uncle Bens from alternate universes, and the evil Uncle Ben (will call him Uncle Ben from universe A) who also killed Spider-Man 2100 or whatever that six-armed Spidey from the future was AFTER he had killed the good Uncle Ben (he'll be Uncle Ben from universe B--oh all right, the evil Uncle Ben can be crudy Universe A, and this one will be the Uncle Ben from Universe-1) who came from a world where Aunt May was the one who died instead of him.
My guess is that the cops found the body of Universe-1 Uncle Ben, matched the ballistics to a gun once owned by some other guy and arrested him and that guy turned out to be Sandman's old partner back before he got his powers and that he and Spidey will team up against Universe-A Uncle Ben to clear Sandman's ex-partner. Geez, I'm not sure if that's worse than making Sandman the real killer of Uncle Ben. Or at least maybe the killer of the evil Uncle Ben from Universe-A. :wow::whatever::csad::huh:

I like your explanation of the Gwen Stacy thing(except for any mention of Sarah Stacy), the Kraven one is kind of weak though... seriously if that were the case, Firelord, Puma, Leap Frog, The Rose, Jack O' Lantern, Slyde, the Commuter, and The Beyonder would all be knocking on Pete's door cause they fought him when his threads were black.

That's true, except the difference is that Kraven actually wore the Black Costume and pretended to be Spider-Man while those other guys didn't. And then there was that propethic dream Peter had about Kraven--Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man #1 BTW--wearing a tutu (gosh there's another story that needs to never be mentioned again). And I just realized--Uncle Ben showed up in that dream too and he's technically "back" isn't he? (why oh why PAD did you have to have ANY version of Uncle Ben walking around alive in current continuity) Besides, I'm pretty sure we'll get a history of Spider-Man wearing the black costume in the Back in Black handbook as a refresher, which I would think would cover stuff like Firelord, Puma, The Rose, Hobgoblin, Beyonder, Secret Wars, Black Cat, Kraven's Last Hunt, Vermin, Venom, etc.

Aloha,
All of the covers look great.
Couple of things 1-Nice to see that Marvel is giving a nod to Steve Ditko in Spotlight. Regardless of his philosophy, he is the Co-Creator of Spider-Man.He can never get too much credit.Second-while I don't like movies influencing comic book continuity, you have to remember what happened after the first X-Men movie. People lost their jobs because Marvel Comics had not prepared at all for the success of the movie and haivng comics to capitalize on that success. They'll never make that mistake again.Back in Black is the theme for Spidey for 2007.
