I got some designs you could use if you give credit.
Also depends what characers you need designs for, the mood/atmosphere, etc.
I will, I'll use your real name OR your screen name in the credits, which ever you choose, I basically need, ideas For WHAT to make the costuems out of, etc...

IF i use what i like, i'll gladly give credit, where credit is due

You're gonna need A LOT of lighting. I'd offer my help, but my company is UK based :(. You need at least 2 lights for even simple exterior shots, and interior is even more difficult. What camera are you shooting on and editing suite etc? Sound?

well i would rather you think of me as offering help rather than anything else.

If I were you, get ur hands on an HD cam, if not, NEVER use the camera as handheld, as it will gratuitously reduce the quality, also, NEVER use auto exposure or focus, as this will make it look more amatuer. If you get the highest level of tapes you can get for your cam, you can make it look better, but you'll need to render your ass off to get it upto scratch, but not impossible, wrap a few effects over it and you can get a degraded stylised feel.

If there's any Q's or anything, let me know, I'm more than happy to help :)

Paste a web-link to your camera, I think I may have a similar one that i do test shoots on, you should do some test shoots, see what looks better, shooting in B&W or changing it to B&W with the editing.

Well try it both ways to see which looks best, and don't move the camera unless you have a decent tracking device, otherwise it'll look very amatuer, even with steadyshot on

Anyways, where were we?

NEVER USE DIGITAL ZOOM, only optical zoom, as digital actually lowers the quality of the image and it becomes pixelated.

like, how do i optical zoom, or digital zoom,

how do i tell them apart... On my cam.

Cyrusbales
12-31-2006, 02:22 PM
well, in the menu, it should have an option in the camera setting for digital zoom, turn that off, then whilst shooting, it will only let you zoom to the max optical :) have a try now and tell me if that works...

zoom into something fully with optical zoom, then turn on digital zoom, which will let you zoom in by like 100X or something, then look how pixelated it gets.

Erm.....some quick rules to help you out(some may have been said before)

NEVER:
-use the digital zoom
-auto exposure/focus (set them up manually for each shot)
-Use the camera handheld, unless you want the jerky amatuer feel, use a tripod, you can still pan eaily with it, and you can make a cheap tracking rig if necessary
-Rely on the natural lighting of somewhere, be ready and prepared to light it

ALWAYS:
-Have the tape running at least 10 seconds before shooting, and afterwards.
-Know how you are going to film something, don't rely on things just fitting into place
-check the colour balance
-Watch your footage back whilst still at the location, in case you need to shoot some more

IF YOU WANT TO:
-You can record over the whole blank tape once, just shooting the black lenscap, that way the entire tape will be timecoded and will make your life easier when editing.

how do i manually focus,

and could i use one of these?

Joe Kerr

i heard Re-recording over tape, leaves bad quality film... but i dunno.

and i May HAVE to rely on natural lighting, but i'll do so as little as possible.

most of it is Inside shots

Cyrusbales

steady stick should help, obviosuly test out all the shots first.

If you use high quality tapes, recording over them with just blackness once, makes no difference to the quality of the tape.

There should be a focus selection in the menu, you can turn it form auto to manual, then you get a pic like this

(pic of face) ===============================(pic of mountain)

And yo can +/- it and it moves along the bar in the middle, you'll need to set that up for each shot obviously.
