There were winners and there were losers. Alot of losers. But all of this was overshadowed by the scandal of the Dick of the Year Award. Now, I would've thought a poster named Dick or heck even Richard would walk away with this one. But it was Hype mod, Morg, in an upset. And speaking of upset, someone got just that and deleted the whole thread and banned the host, Not Jake. The thread has been returned, somewhat edited, and Not Jake was sentenced to 3 weeks probation. He will be missed.

Hype Investigation-

Good morning to me and good whatever to the common people, welcome back to Hype News. Today, part 1 of my on-going investigation into flashing avatars and the theory that they may cause cancer.

Avatars like this, belonging to one Wilhelm-Scream, could be slowly killing you. (spoiler tags for your protection)

Dead inside, I wandered the streets with no sign of an answer. Then I came upon a man on the corner who changed everything. Doctor Zeus he called himself. Not a very clean fellow, and very underfunded. Working out of a box in an alley.

This is what he had to say...

"Of course they cause cancer! But it really doesn't matter since the world is ending anyway! Speaking of ending, I've been pretty lonely, you wanna come on back and-"

At that point I gave him a manly slap to the face and ran away screaming.


So there you have it. People like Wilhelm-Scream are murderers, but they may just be saving you from the fate that is to come.

Greetings ladies, gentlemen, and other things. It's time for part two of my on-going investigation into flashing avatars. I set out to poll fellow Hypesters from all walks of life and collect their opinions. Here's what I got...


1. Do you believe flashing avatars can cause cancer?


Hype It-Boy and Co-Poster of the Year Erzengel had this to say: "No but I do believe that a lot of people have no taste in picking avatars. :down"

Comics Poster of the Year and Co-Community Poster of the Year Darthphere: "Yes, at this point, anything can cause cancer."

Someone very clean, Mr Sparkle: "yes...yes I do, but pretty much everything causes cancer. I'm sure in some way, filling out this survey has upped my chances of getting cancer in the future. Joe Jackson said it best."

A plant-grower, farmerfran: "Only Wilhelm's avatar :o"

A youngling, COMICBOY: "Of course not, Silly...they cause siezures. :dry:

Uh, someone mean? BRUTAL: "It's a well known fact that flashing avatars do not cause cancer. They do, however, cause a contagious ocular irritation in addition to the many reported cases of anal leakage."

2. If so, what do you think should be done with those who use flashing avatars?


Erz: "I think if you have a subpar avatar, you shouldn't have avatar rights for like a month or so."

Darth: "They should be killed by a giant death seizure icon."

Sparkle: "we should give THEM cancerx2"

fran: "I think we should have a intervention with those in question."

COMICBOY: "Nothing. it'll teach those who have siezures to get off the computer a lead a real life. Yup, competitions getting tougher these days. Anything to take them out, I say.:o

BRUTAL: "I think a mandatory probation of at least a week should be applied for first time flashing avatar offenses. In this time they should contemplate the ramifications of their avatar and spend time looking for something that is original, interesting, and, above all, not f**king annoying. A second time offense should result in a three week probation followed by removal of avatar privileges and a thread started to remind them of their continued stupidity. A third time offense is obviously a bannable offense, followed by the release of their cell phone number to either JAL or GAH so that they may call in the middle of the night and leave voicemails of themselves crying about how alone they are so as to forever remind them how wrong they were that they are now below those two."

I/P: "Normally death is the only solution but I believe an amnesty could be more effective in this situation. Legalise flashing, impose a harsh but fair flash tax ($x per flash), regulate the industry while keeping it both competitive and innovative and improve targeting of victims to focus on women, old people and kids."

Its a great honor. Ok, maybe not, but it feels good to be noticed amongst the hundreds and hundreds of posters who post in Community. Congrats to Jag btw.

Good people. Ronny is slacking lately and might be demoted to Power Pack soon, but I think you're on your way to elite status.

4. Now that you've won your awards, are you going to pull a Justin Timberlake and dump the N*SYNC that is Ronny and I? (Ronny being Lance Bass of course. I'm the cool one. Wait, there was a cool one right?)

Probably not. That would be up to the JLA and whether or not they grant me membership, but we'll always have the Tower.

5. Jag is the one who shares your Co- CPOTY honor, what are your thoughts on post signing?

I sat down with recently elected President of the Hype, Kipobe, (aka Pooh Bear- aka President Pooh) to discuss his plans for world domination. Here's how it went...


1. You're unofficially the Hype's President. How do you officially feel about that?
Mee, I have to be honest, I officially don't give a tiny rat's ass. I could've easily had lost to Erz and would've woken up just the same way... except I have an inherent need to win anything that has my name attached to it... but after I do, I'm over it. A lot. However, thanks to the many who voted... they made a difference. But as regards being President? Just another notch on the profile I've made over the years... and like anyone else, if I stopped coming here for a few days, no one would even remember my name. Until that day though, I'm all about business. This election was for Survivor, and I intend to press on wholeheartedly in my accomplishments in that game!

2. VP Darren Daring, power behind the throne, or mindless lackey?
Daring is really both, and yet neither. He's also the court jester which is cool. I hate to use the word mindless before the word lackey when we have the great Lackey who is part of my cabinet in some unforseen, sexual way. Also, Darren Daring was a horrible choice for my running mate. Seriously. Way horrible.

3. What's your Iraq strategy?
To blow it up and pretend it never was there.

4. What do you think of your former opponents, Erzengel and Darthphere?
I think quite highly of them, I really do. After all, I have to... they got some votes. If it were a shut out I could proclaim my real feelings. Regardless, they made the race interesting, and I hope they don't die in the next few days or so......mostly because that would steal my thunder.

5. Now that you have this high and much to do position, will Ronny Shade be re-hired and join yor staff?
Mee, I'm not gonna lie... Ronny was total garbage. I don't ever like to totally write someone off, but there's a greater chance I'll see if a rusty needle can have intercourse with my urethra before I ever contact Ronny for further assistance. But as always, I am in need of some secretary type person and I'd like to open the search if possible. Seriously though, Ronny was great... he'd make a great speed bump some day.

6. Who's your first lady?
Oh god... do questions get any tougher? Well, let's run down the list of who ISN'T first, shall we? I'd always wanna go with a classic first lady; Ryoko, Fuzz, emma, RocKitty, rogue_devlin... and many others... but they're just not here. Toven would cause shenanigans. Then there's the list of my favorites who voted elsewhere: Honey Vibe, Sofa, DBella, and a few others. But the classics who voted for me? Hm.. ATP (gave me the cold shoulder), redmarvel (we just don't talk like we used to... but still a possiblity), CLW, twylight, and of course Daisy... and many more... there's so many to choose from. I really can't decide. Maybe we'll leave this one up to the public:huh: If I did select one though, it'd be Daisy. She came back for me, and I think out of all of them she's the one I've known the longest on this site. :heart:

7. What would you change about the Hype, if you were the official President?
Official? Hm. Ban Morg, unban Tukiluka, get all the mods/admins on the same page... even if that meant adhering to stricter rules for the benefit of harmony rather than the independent rangers we have now... and I'd also alter everyone's usernames so they don't all make me cringe. Then, I'd crash the boards and erase everything on the hype! :word:

9. If your VP were to shoot someone in the face, who would it be?
I hear Darth is studying law, which would make him the lawyer friend... but honestly, I'm gonna have to go with Morg here. Then again, I'm not really an evil person... I don't hate Morg... after all, he's only a bad moderator on an internet forum.... how much damage can he do for crying out loud? He's deaf, he deserves nothing more. But yeah, I'd shoot him in the face anyway. If this question encompasses celebs too, there's many I'd kill, but off-hand I can't remember. Maybe Jennifer Lopez. Oh, and JAL. I had once conversation and he's weird.... so I guess Jessica Alba too.

10. Monica Lewinsky, nice lady?
When speaking of her, nice and lady are oxymorons. It's nice because she gives oval office head, but lady? Not so much. In my cabinet, I'd like to install a Monica Lewinsky. Again, I'll leave that to the public.
