Ultimate Spider-Man the game!

Ok i finally broke down & bought this game only because Spider-Man 2 is not availible on the Xbox 360 backward compatibility list & i really wanted to play a free roam Spidey game & dont want to buy another Xbox 1 i traded in to buy a 360 to play one game or wait 4 months for S3. I have to say i was excited to see the other costumes you can wear but was shocked that there was no codes to unlock them! Instead to play in the black costume you have to do 100 events, 100 combat tours & get 100 tokens, this seems like it will take forever, have any of you actually unlocked the black costume? Also i found myself about to throw the damn controller across the room in the Venom - Electro chase because its just ridiculous, i dont know what the developers were thinking with this game making things nearly impossible to do, but overall it could be a very cool game if you can get past the very hard things that unlock the cool features. Sorry i know its a little late to be *****ing about this game but i just had to vent because this game is just frustrating me lol!

If you think the Venom-Electro chase is hard, wait until you have to chase Beetle as Spider-Man. THAT sucks. But I have beaten the game, and believe me, those chases (along with the Green Goblin chase near the end) completely suck. However, if you get through them, you're a significant portion of the game closer to its end. Just keep trying.

As for the costumes, well... what does this say about kids today, that they can't stand actually working for something? The stuff's secret for a reason, bud. You need to EARN it.

Practically all you do in this game is chase someone. It's so darn repetitive. This game has little replay value.

Yeah it's a bit difficult to get the black costume. I got every costume but the black one. It's the races that were the most difficult for me to do. Oh well.

cough *gamefaqs* cough...what was I saying..I found the races ridiculous..no way I could possibly beat them all, that said: the ability to swing thorugh NY as Spidey in the comic book world was the coolest thing ever.

Yeah i cant wait to do the more harder stupid chases! Im not a kid im 30 years old & i dont have the time to run around looking for tokens like you youngins lol! I have no desire to beat the game either, all i want to do is websling around the city stopping crime in the symbiote costume damnit!

Alright after a couple hours of playing i got up in 30's for each requirement for the symbiote costume i guess its not that difficult, you dont need to progress in the main story to get it like i thought you did.

Saving someone who is failing down, stop a speeding car by smashing the car (no wonder Ultimate Spidey has no good reputation), send someone to the hosptail, and also beat up gang members.

I like this game. But it gets kinda repetitive after a while. And I hate chase levels

Ok now i got 30 tokens & 30 city events to unlock the wrestling costume, but in the unlockables its not showing up! Anybody know why?

Yes, you need to earn your stuff, but you don't need totally ridiculous requirements in order to unlock a simple costume.

I don't want to search every goddamn freaking inch of the town for tokens, or go through 100 races which already got tedious after the 3rd race.

I got 71 tokens & 51 city events & the requirements for the wrestling costume is only 30 tokens & 30 city events, what the hell is going on! :cmad:

Do you have to get to a certain point in the main story to unlock the costumes? Im like at 71 tokens when 8 are only required to advance.

Ok i finished the main story & unlocked the costumes, which no site tells you in order to unlock them you need to finish the main story! But anyways i got every one except for the black one & some sites say you need to do all the city goals including the 60 races & some say you just need the events, tokens & tours. Can anybody confirm what exactly you need to get the black costume so i dont waste countless hours going over every inch of the damn city searching for tokens because i refuse to do the races.

I agree, the comics are an excellent retcon of the Spider-Man origin into modern times. While the game doesn't do a perfect job of getting the player intrigued, at least its presentation is top-notch. The script, voice acting, graphics, and cutscenes are all (IMO) AWESOME. Spider-Man, looking out at the damage caused by Rhino, says to himself "Ahhh... this hurts already."

The game, just like the Spider-Man 2 game, is extraordinarily repetitive, which takes away a large amount from its replay value. Even the combat gets boring before you get all the way through the story mode.

I thought the cut scenes were annoyin' as hell. Too many comic panels flyin' every which way. Once in a while woulda been fine, but I felt like I had ADD whenever I'd watch them.

And the comics are long, drawn out piles of crap not even worth usin' as toilet paper.

Really? I love the comics and I thought all the cut scenes in the game were awesome. They were fast-paced, action packed and funny as hell. The one were spidey catches up to the beetle and starts swinging next to him was hilarious and the one at the end where he smacks the crap out of venom was sweet. The problem is they were probably the best thing about the game. Like a few people already said the races and combat tours got so repetitive after a while you really couldn’t be arsed to carry on with the main story.

Also did anyone else on here think the human torch races were ridiculously hard.

Actually im kidding... i became so obsessed with unlocking everything i went out & bought the Gameshark code disc & cheated to get all the unlockables. It would have taken me til the end of next year to unlock everything with the games very high difficulty, it would have been nearly impossible to find all the tokens & complete all the races, & i have to say that its not worth the time it would have taken to get the simple costumes. Its really cool starting a new game with everything unlocked because the costumes & everything are included in the cutscenes.

I thought you just had to collect all the tokens to get the symbiote suit. If you have to do all the races too then there's no way I can be bothered to do all that.

Aww i wish i had game shark which one did u use? and i found all the tokens(using stradegy guide) but the guide lies about races. It said the johnny storm insane race(which is the- gets up to get guide-...4th race sincethe begening and it lied! theres a fith race and it is practicly unbeatable. anyone know what i'm talking about? the race all around the island?

Dude, I can't even do the first Johnny Storm race. Seriously its the hardest thing in the game by far. The points you have to reach are too high.
