No, but for a 2nd team those guys arent nearly as bad as youd think. Sammy Morris is good; Brown and Gafney are good, Jacksons a speed demon...
Morris is good - but having a solid second string RB isn't a bragging right anymore, its a necessity.
Brown is older than Belicheck and Gafney is anything but a good wide receiver. Jackson has proven nothing.
The Patriots are no more deeper than any top team out there.

Well i tell you firing Marty broke that teams chimistry . They ha dteh perfect set up to get in the play off but yes lets fire a coch who gets us 14 and 2 for the cast off of The Oakland raider head coach and the once Redskins guru.
They could have the superbowl 40 luck of the Steelers and go on big run but i doubt it. I don't see Bill Cowher as coach so don't see that happening.
I think Denver is better then people think all they need is time and hunger to win.
Thats what Sand Diego needs but don't have right now.
But could be wrong and the lightning bolts win.

Good lord....
Trent Green was taken off the field on a stretcher with a concussion in the first quarter of Sunday's game.
Green was throwing a cut block on an end around when a defender's knee struck him in the head, immediately knocking him out. Green, who missed half of last season with a concussion, lay motionless for several minutes and was taken off the field on a stretcher. Cleo Lemon is on in relief.
David Carr left today's game with an undisclosed injury in the first quarter. He was carted to the locker room with a back or knee injury.
Carr was shaking his head as he was carted off the field and his return is doubtful. With Jake Delhomme hurt, Matt Moore is next on the depth chart. Delhomme was seen throwing some passes off the field, but Moore is in the game.
Deion Branch suffered a sprained foot in Sunday's matchup with Pittsburgh. He needed to be carted off the field.
Branch had two catches for 14 yards before leaving the game. Such injuries can often cost players multiple weeks, but the extent of Branch's sprain is unknown at this time. Matt Hasselbeck would suffer if he's out long.

The Titans don't rout the Falcons like I thought they would but still win. In their ugliest game of the year the Titans manage to come through beating the Falcons 20-13. The Titans are now 3-1 for the first time since 2003 the last time they went to the Playoffs. I could care less for the bad performance because a win is a win and I am sure they will get it corrected. Next up is the rising Bucs who also have a tough dominant defense and are undefeated at home so should be a nice challenge for Young and the Titans.

THE BUCS STOPPED HERE!!!!!!!
With six starters out because of injuries, the Indianapolis Colts (http://www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20071007/SPORTS03/710070451#) pulled together in an impressive show of solidarity to whip Tampa Bay 33-14 Sunday at the RCA Dome and run their record to 5-0 for the third consecutive season.

quarter of their game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Only three other teams in NFL history have begun three straight seasons 5-0: Green Bay, 1929-31; Minnesota, 1973-75; and St. Louis, 1999-2001.
Colts quarterback [URL="http://www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20071007/SPORTS03/710070451#"]Peyton Manning (http://javascript<b></b>:NewWindow(760,585,'/apps/pbcs.dll/misc?url=/misc/photos_single.pbs&IDato=20071007&IKategori=SPORTS03&ID=710070451');) completed 29-of-37 passes for 253 yards with touchdowns to tight end Dallas Clark and wide receiver Reggie Wayne.
Back-up running back Kenton Keith rushed 28 times for 121 yards and two touchdowns in his first NFL start.
The Buccaneers (3-2) had won three straight games and permitted 44 points all season. They got run over Sunday as the Colts piled up 147 yards while yielding only 17.
Buccaneers quarterback Jeff Garcia was 18-for-23 for 143 yards and a pair of touchdowns to tight end Alex Smith.
All the Colts starters were injured against Denver last week: Running back Joseph Addai (bruised chest), wide receiver Marvin Harrison (http://www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20071007/SPORTS03/710070451#) (bruised knee), linebackers Rob Morris (knee surgery Freddy Keiaho (concussion), safety Bob Sanders (bruised ribs) and tight end Ben Utecht (concussion).
The Colts scored on their first two possessions to take a 13-0 lead. Manning hit Clark with a 10-yard touchdown pass and Keith ran 1 yard for the other touchdown.
Tampa Bay converted a Manning interception into a 3-yard touchdown pass from Garcia to Smith but after a nifty two-minute drill the Colts answered with a 27-yard Adam Vinatieri field goal on the final play of the half.

Props to the champs for doing their thing even without The Bob Sanders. In watching this game, it became completely obvious to me why Indianapolis is as good as they are. Both of their lines are top notch.
I don't want to take anything away from Peyton, Reggie, and Marvin, but that offensive line is what makes them go. I don't care what anybody says. They open up holes for whoever the heck Indy wants to put at running back, and they give Manning an ungodly amount of time to throw the ball.
Back on the Bucs side of things, we're going to have to find a solution at running back because I don't expect to see Michael Pittman for a good while. And the pass rush has got to step up if we want to go deep in the NFC.
Should be a good one against the Titans.

Morris was a big reason why he had so many punts today; he had a few of 10-15 yards; but the rest wewre like...2....3....hell we had to have donte stallworth run it just because Morris was so ineffective in the third quarter nither Moss or Stallworth could open (que Ben Watson).

It's not him, it's his clone. Bob Sanders 2. He made it in his dorm room in college using pinball parts. Didn't you see Bob Sanders: Under the Helmet?
Lest 'Fire forget:
Safety Bob Sanders, on the Bucs as a whole: "The Bucs, man? The Bucs?? Bob Sanders is suppose to be scared of the Bucs? Dog, I didn't even watch their film this week. That's how confident I am about this game. It's crazy. People acting like Tampa's a real team. They ain't got nobody. Derrick Brooks is older than my grandmomma, Cato June is the new Benedict Arnold, Ronde Barber is too busy robbin' cats in Paris, and Jeff Garcia probably too busy bangin' that Playboy chick he got at home to focus on them plays. But ya'll think Bob Sanders is scared of the Bucs? Ya'll must be crazy. I might not even play in this game. I might just send out one of my many Bob Sanders clones to go make a couple of tackles for me. I ain't got no respect for people who think pewter is a color."

Interesting.
Blessed be cheerleaders for they will be vilified
If football is a religion, the NFL is developing some orthodox creeds. It's like they're putting together the First-and-10 Commandments.
Thou shalt not steal signals with a video camera.
Thou shalt not "make it rain" without punishment.
Honor thy Goodell and thy dogs.
Thou shalt celebrate the touchdown in vain.
Remember the disabled old-timers, but keep their wallets holey.
And here's the newbie on the list:
Thou shalt not distract thy opponent with thy cheerleaders.
League executives sent a memo recently to its 32 teams, warning them to control their cheerleaders. There's growing concern that some home teams are using these ladies for a competitive advantage, telling them to warm up in front of the opponents, hoping their beauty will steer players away from their pregame preparation.
If the NFL were any more paranoid, commissioner Roger Goodell would need to dead bolt his sock drawer.
And so now we return to one of the most archaic stereotypes in sports: the ditzy, dainty cheerleader.
Now that this reprimand has gone public, it's both unfortunate and hypocritical.
It's unfortunate because it has demeaning undertones, saying essentially that these women care more about flirting than dancing.
It's hypocritical because the NFL fosters a look-at-our-sexy-girls attitude, and for proof, visit the Web sites of the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles.
They're among the many teams that show their cheerleaders in swimsuits. They get prominent display. The league's inadvertent message: Be gorgeous at our command.
Instead of holding men accountable for their ogling, there's this nonsense.
In his weekly column for Canada's TSN, former NFL quarterback Jesse Palmer, aka "The Bachelor," told a humorous story about cheerleaders. He was leading the New York Giants against Dallas in 2003, and his teammates wouldn't stop staring at the Cowboys cheerleaders.
"The classic line came from our tight end, Visanthe Shiancoe, who interrupted me in the middle of a play call and said, 'Jesse, you really need to turn around and see this,' " Palmer wrote.
It seems the NFL should focus more on teaching its tongue-wagging millionaires better professionalism. The root of the problem isn't the cheerleaders.
http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/ABPub/2007/10/06/2003930503.jpg
"I think it's ridiculous," said Dawn Holmes, who was a member of the Sea Gals, the Seahawks' cheerleading squad, in 2005. "If you're a player and you're getting paid hundreds of thousands or millions of dollars to play football, why would you even think of a cheerleader?"
Well, the athlete's affinity for cheerleaders goes back to high school. But there's a difference in the pros: Most teams frown upon such fraternizing.
Let the athlete play. Let the cheerleader dance. Chitchat — and only chitchat — when appropriate.
"It's an unspoken rule," Holmes said. "You just know you need to keep your integrity. You're representing a huge corporation. Keep your priorities straight."
Based on her one-year experience with the team, Holmes trusts the Sea Gals would never resort to running interference for the Seahawks. Sherri Thompson, who is in her 21st year as the Sea Gals director, reiterated that sentiment.
"It's never been an issue," Thompson said.
The Sea Gals usually go over their routines three or four hours before the game. They're usually out of sight by the time the players leave their locker room for warm-ups.
Like most NFL teams' cheer squads, the Sea Gals have a calendar. But they aren't shown in swimsuits — just outfits they'd wear while performing. Holmes remembers Thompson's desire for each of her Sea Gals is to represent "a strong woman."
"It's not just about being sexy or sparkly," Holmes said.
Most pro cheerleaders are serious dancers looking to showcase their passion. When they do their jobs, we generally don't notice them. They're simply part of the game experience. But there have been a few bizarre tales that have received attention the past five years.
In 2002, more than 40 former Eagles cheerleaders filed a lawsuit claiming that visiting players looked through a peephole at old Veterans Stadium and watched them dress and shower.
Three years ago, two Carolina Panthers cheerleaders were arrested and kicked off the squad for allegedly having sex in a bathroom stall.
When athletes get in trouble or become entangled in weird stories, we still see them as athletes, and for the most part, we're still able to separate the good and bad among them.
When controversy finds cheerleaders, we return to typecasting them all as ditzy and dainty.
"It's not as exciting as it seems like," Holmes said. "You hear some pretty derogatory comments, some that shouldn't be printed. I just don't think it's all about being these sex symbols."
Don't fret, however. The NFL has found a solution.
If you thought oversized men made football scary, think again. Even they need rescuing. Those evil, alluring cheerleaders must be stopped.

That's better. The Pat are undeniably the best team right now. Things may change but they've scored more points, allowed less points, and have made it to the endzone more. Not sure about the yards allowed and turnover ratio but Pats have looked almost perfect with the exception of a few drives.
Titans have greatly improved. Hell if they can win with an off game like that...it's gonna be hard to beat them on an average day.
In 2006, the Titans ranked dead last in overall defense, but through four games in 2007, they look more like a championship caliber unit. They currently rank fourth in overall defense, allowing opposing offenses to gain just 275.8 yards-per-game, including a very meager 72.2 yards on the ground.

I do not believe you can make that statement.
They have a rather strong case, yes, but if you compare their competition to that of Indianapolis you find the Colts have had a far harder schedule and have for the most part looked as dominant as the Patriots.
Tampa Bay, Houston, Tennessee and Denver are all better teams than the Bills, Jets, Bengals and Browns. In the case of Tampa Bay, Houston and Tennessee - far far better teams.

A question posed to Houston D-lineman Travis Johnson.
What do you think of Trent Green?
"At about 12 o'clock, I respected Trent Green. But around 12:20, **** Trent Green."
While I don't really agree with him taunting Green when he was down, I do see his point and understand why he was angry. That cut Green put on Johnson had the potential to do serious damage to his knee, maybe rip his ACL, a potentially career impacting injury, especially for a D-lineman. That and he landed on his head. Green has got to know better than that. If your gonna block a guy in that situation, do not go low, you either go high or just get out of the way, you don't blindside cut block him across his knees. That is an unwritten rule in the NFL. You want to talk about a cheap shot, don't look at the Dallas Clark hit, look at this one.

Neither. I would certainly not be complacant with Tony Romo. Take it from a Pittsburgh fan...you take a wait and let him develop approach and you are going to have a situation we like to call a "Kordell Stewart" :cwink:
All I am saying is, Romo is not as great as everyone is saying. Listen to the announcers on this monday night game. You'd think they are his parents the way they are bragging him up. The media, the Dallas fans, everyone is acting like he is the second coming. I am saying so far, he is at best, average. He could be better. I don't know, I can't see the future.
I think Romo's whole problem this game is that Madden is too far up his ass and its affecting his play.

Unfortunately for the rest of the NFL (especially the Steelers, who in my opinion are the second best team in the AFC outside of the Pats) that is true :csad:

It's called being a leader, Peyton is always running off at the mouth on his team.

The way Romo is playing, he should be benched. If the Dallas coach had a bit of guts he would do it. He is getting destroyed. A young QB like that learns more from getting benched for his bad play than having it allowed. I firmly believe one of the reasons Big Ben is playing so well this season is because Cowher had the guts to bench him when he played poorly last season and put Batch in.

Lets see, Manning has had the balls to publically blame team mates for losses and overrule his coach during games. You want to call Brady arrogant for yelling?

I firmly believe that if the Cards had any coach outside of Wisenhunt, the Steelers would've won that game. Wis knows the Steelers too damn well.

Yea... but Peyton is 'that dude', Brady has always been a cool ass customer.

I think they're the second best team in the NFL. Usually the second best team could beat the first best team with ease. Unfortunately Bellechik, Brady, and the Pats aren't a team of rookies...they aren't going to make silly mistakes, they aren't going to show up unprepared for any game this season. That makes it a massive uphill battle for any team in the NFL to beat the Patriots this year.

You don't watch many Patriots games, if Brady needs to, he let's his offense know what they are doing wrong.
Now we get another five to ten minutes of the announcers kissing Romo's ass. Huzaah.

I still will not pick any team against the Colts.
No, Kurt Warner is simply that damn good.
Its a factor, no doubt. But do you think Warner would've been able to pick apart one of the toughest defenses in the NFL as he did without a week or more of preparation with Wisenhunt? I just think he knew the Steelers too damn well to get beat by them. Ontop of that, I'd argue that no coach other than Wis would have the good sense to juggle Warner and Leinhart as he is this year. It really shows a lot of foresight you don't see from coaches in the NFL now-a-days. Wisenhunt is a great offensive coach and shaping up to be a great head coach.
I still will not pick any team against the Colts.
I think the Pats will. Compare the stats of the two teams. New England has been dominant over the Colts this year. Granted, it doesn't mean much as they have yet to play each other...but I really think the Pats will steam roll them this year. Look at last year. The Pats had no recievers, were hurt, etc...and each time they played, they were within one score of a team with a superior, offense, defense, and lines. That says A LOT.
It'll be a hell of a game at any rate.
