Basically:
1. For this week, submit me your picks by Saturday morning EST.
2. 2 points per correct pick this week (last week was just one), points double each week.
3. For the NFC and AFC title games, give me scores and winners.
4. Same for Super Bowl as 3, except for MVP included.
But for this week, all I need is your predictions of who will win the games Sat and Sun.

Typically you wont see three games that close in a playoff game weekend. While it could happen, i think we'll see games with a wider margin of victory.
Faketriots will win, but i dont know if they score 38 on Jacksonville, a tough physical defense in a cold weather game. Jacksonville no way in hell will score 37. I think it would be more like 21-10 Patriots, 21-7, if the Jags can even muster a TD. Dont believe the hype, Jax will not win this weekend.
The Colts will win also. I dont think they'll have any problem getting to that 30 mark. But we'll see, Marvin Harrison really hasn't played full speed for a whole game in since early in the season. The Colts defense is going to give Tomlinson some problems though and the Colts will win like 31-17, 34-17 something like that.
It's hard for me to believe the Cowboys would win by that large of a margin against a team that has already seen what they run and has a relentless pass rushing defense. Especially with "Team Obliterater"s bad ankle. Does Dallas win? Probably, i think the NFC games are tougher to call than the AFC ones. I think it will be a closer game like 24-17, 27-21 though.
Now here's the hard one. Seattle-Green Bay. Brett Favre hasn't played a solid divisional playoff game in a long long time. In fact i think the last time he won a divisional playoff game was 1997 when they went to their last Super Bowl. Now he's got a home game in Lambeau in the divisional playoffs, a luxury he hasn't had in a while either. The Packers previously unbeatable in January at Lambeau have actually lost two games in recent years to the Mediocre Vikings and the Falcons when Vick took them there in 2002. Granted thus were MUCH different Packer teams, with very weak defenses. Now he's facing his old coach, his mentor, the guy who groomed him Mike Holmgren. We saw this story before the Seahawks went there on wild card weekend a few years ago and lost in over time. That was the inexperienced Seahawks playoff team going up against a playoff experienced Packer team. Hawks lost in OT on a terrible pass from Hasselbeck to Al Harris. Roles are reversed now, Hawks have the experience. Anyone who doesn't think the Seahawks have a chance in this game need to visit last years playoffs where they ALMOST and perhaps SHOULD HAVE beaten the Bears in CHICAGO. Seattle's defense is tremendous and what we saw of their offense on Sunday did not do it justice, that was a bad game by Hasselbeck. I like the Seahawks in this game, but it will be a tight one, 27-24, 28-24.

Uh... you are talking about things that happened last year... Coughlin is coming back that's all there is too it... he didn't even need the Buc game in most people's opinion on the air waves and I agreed. Things are different now... the team is playing well... unless they implode next year and go 6-10 and Manning digresses Coughlin will be back in 09 as well... there is a good chance he'll be out after that if he doesn't win another playoff game before then but as of now... the Giants are stuck with him. He isn't Belicheck or Parcells but then again who is? Don't give me Cowher because its a long shot that they'll get him anyways. Every team is going to make a play at Cowher.
Like I said, if the team returns to that old form(the constant criticism and lack of effort), then the Giants may regret keeping Coughlin for another season.

As long as they run the ball well (meaning better than last week) and Garrard doesn't throw any dumb interceptions (like last week) and they play great defense, and the planets align, they've got a chance.

Brady's Great, But Imagine Vintage Marino and Today's Rules (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/playoffs07/columns/story?columnist=chadiha_jeff&id=3186324)
Greatest Individual Seasons Since the Merger:
1. Dan Marino, Miami, 1984:
Marino used his second NFL season to terrorize opposing defenses on a weekly basis. Blessed with a quick release and a rocket right arm, he produced a season-long performance that required its own section in the league record books once he was done. Marino set NFL marks for yards (he became the first player to pass for 5,000 yards in a season with 5,084) and touchdown passes (he blew away the old mark of 36 with 48 of his own) and he led the Dolphins to a spot in that year's Super Bowl. Marino's Hall of Fame career included many great seasons but nothing ever came close to those feats.
In fact, there is one chief reason why his performance still ranks better than those produced more recently by Indianapolis' Peyton Manning and New England's Tom Brady: The rules were different. Both Manning and Brady benefited from the league's decision to penalize defenders who touched receivers more than five yards away from the line of scrimmage. If Marino had that advantage going for him, nobody would've ever matched the season he produced 24 years ago.
2. Eric Dickerson, Los Angeles Rams, 1984
3. Peyton Manning, Indianapolis, 2004
4. Tom Brady, New England, 2007
5. LaDainian Tomlinson, San Diego, 2006
6. Jerry Rice, San Francisco, 1987
7. Lawrence Taylor, New York Giants, 1986
8. O.J. Simpson, Buffalo, 1973
9. Lester Hayes, Oakland, 1980
10. Reggie White, Philadelphia, 1987

I could never put Manning ahead of Brady. There is one reason that I don't know if it's been mentioned before, and it isn't Manning's fault. Manning knows every season he is going to get at least 8 games in which the conditions as far as weather is concerned is going to be perfect. There will be no effect on his game due to the conditions. He is going to have 8 perfect condition home games every season. Brady doesn't have that luxury. It's not Manning's fault, it is just the way it is.

Looks like Anderson is staying
Derek Anderson-QB-Browns Jan. 9 - 1:34 pm et
Browns GM Phil Savage said Wednesday morning that Derek Anderson will be the team's starting quarterback in 2008.
Anderson, a Pro Bowl alternate, threw 29 touchdowns and 19 interceptions in his first year as a starter. Savage feels Anderson deserves "a chance to go into the batter's box and swing for the fences next year. Our expectation is that he'll hit some home runs for us." Savage says a long-term contract is a possibility for Anderson and indicated that he's off the market in trade talks. Brady Quinn will open the season as a backup.

Sources tell ESPN's Joe Schad that Pete Caroll is interested in the Atlanta Falcons head coaching job.
They seem to have the ingredients Carroll wants from a pro team: huge money, full control of the team, and nowhere to go but up. It's surprising Arthur Blank would dip back into the college ranks, but Carroll is the biggest splash hire out there.

Baltimore's front office reportedly has a three favorites for the head coaching job: Tony Sparano, Jason Garrett, and Marty Schottenheimer.
Team president Dick Cass reportedly likes Sparano, owner Steve Bisciotti likes Garrett and GM Ozzie Newsome Schottenheimer. "All three like Indianapolis Colts assistant coach Jim Caldwell, but no one has him as his No. 1," according to Mike Preston. Carroll got a bad rap as a pro coach. None of his teams were exceptional, but he was 33-31 and only had one losing season. With that said, I don't see why he would want to leave Southern Cal.
Why leave USC, a team that will most likely start #1 in the AP polls, and is about to wrap up recruiting for 2008, for an Atlanta team that is pretty much in the cellar of the NFL.

There in lies the rub. He is bigger there than he ever will be in Atlanta, but I think the challenge of rebuilding the Falcons, the money, and maybe redemption could be driving him. I thought he was a good coach when he was with the Patriots, he was just to laid back for the media and Boston area.

The tabloid-like nature that sports reporting has taken on recently is a bit ridiculous though. Anything tangentially related to a sports figure gets mentioned as if it has some bearing on the game. You figure there's enough analysis to be done on actual news, but the silliness still gets notice. Unless Jessica and Romo got too carried away with the bedroom gymnastics, to the point where he hurt his back or arm or something, I don't really care what they do.

Falcons Offense-TM-Falcons Jan. 9 - 6:42 pm et
NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports that Pete Carroll has no interest in becoming the Falcons' next head coach.
Schefter quotes a source close to Carroll who says that Pete is "not even entertaining the idea" of going to Atlanta, and that he has similar disinterest in the opening in Washington. "It's the wrong place, the wrong time, the wrong guy," said the source. Still, Schefter thinks there's a chance Arthur Blank could make a "recruiting" trip to Los Angeles to let Carroll know just how much money he'd be willing to drop on the silver-haired Trojan.

The Rams received permission to interview Buccaneers assistant head coach/running backs coach Art Valero.
Rams coach Scott Linehan attempted to interview Valero for a job last season, but the Bucs refused the request as Valero still had a year left on his contract. It's thought the Rams are considering him for their offensive line coach position.

Jets Offense-TM-Jets Jan. 9 - 7:07 pm et
Adam Schefter of the NFL Network reports that the New York Jets interviewed former Nebraska coach Bill Callahan for their vacant offensive line coach position.
Callahan, who was fired after a tough year at Nebraska, is still plenty respected in the NFL from his days as head coach of the Raiders team that went to the Super Bowl in 2002. He earned a reputation as an offensive mastermind in Oakland, and his arrival in New York would likely help the Jets improve their running game.
Texans Offense-TM-Texans Jan. 9 - 6:22 pm et
Texans hired Alex Gibbs as their assistant head coach and promoted Kyle Shanahan to offensive coordinator.
Great news for Houston's starting running back in 2008, whether it's Ahman Green, Ron Dayne, or the more likely player to be named later. Gibbs is the godfather of zone blocking from his Denver days and immediatley made the Falcons far better when he was there. Shanahan, the son of Mastermind, is only 28 years old.

Look, don't expect the NBA to ever get back to what it was when Jordan was playing. That was a once in multiple lifetimes occurrence. Once he hit that last shot in the 98' Finals to win the title, the game forever changed. That shot signified the ending of an era. It will never be the same again.
But you still got baseball. That starts up soon after the Superbowl. And you can't say that baseball is losing steam, even throughout the steroid scandal. Attendance records were breaking.

Falcons plan to interview Mike Smith from the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Atlanta Falcons plan to interview Jacksonville Jaguars defensive coordinator Mike Smith in Jacksonville this week for Atlanta's head-coaching job, a person with knowledge of the situation told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
The Falcons plan to interview Smith on his home turf because the Jaguars play New England this weekend in an AFC Divisional playoff game.
Atlanta team officials also held a satellite interview last weekend with New England Patriots director of college scouting Tom Dimitroff for the Falcons soon-to-be vacated general manager's job, the person with knowledge of the interview said.
This would be a good hire for the Falcons. Mike Smith has done an outstanding job with the Jags run defense, something the Falcons have also done well with this season. Getting a defensive minded coach is something they need. Then they should draft a QB in the first round. Maybe Matt Ryan or Brian Brohm?

Look, don't expect the NBA to ever get back to what it was when Jordan was playing. That was a once in multiple lifetimes occurrence. Once he hit that last shot in the 98' Finals to win the title, the game forever changed. That shot signified the ending of an era. It will never be the same again.
But you still got baseball. That starts up soon after the Superbowl. And you can't say that baseball is losing steam, even throughout the steroid scandal. Attendance records were breaking.
I even get into March Madness... but baseball wears thin on me in July when the Mets are playing all those basements NL teams and the Yanks get on their hotstreak... its February and July that need work...

That's the problem... we are moving to a situation where the NFL is the only National sport... we gotto get out of that... the NBA has done a terrible job the last few years promoting itself...the majority of people in the North East expect Celtic fans (only now though) don't follow the sport even closely... its a problem for general sports fans like me... Hockey will never be what it is in Canada here in the U.S... Stern has a problem on its hands... even the national sporting stations and news outlets are avoiding the NBA in their columns, stations, airwaves as much as possible... look its not a problem now because we got the greatest slate of games the NFL has ever had this week... it is just going to get painful in February.
I wouldn't worry about that.
Hockey has a great follow in MANY markets. Just not on a national level and in stupid Hockey markets like Carolina, Florida, Phoenix and California. Contraction is BADLY needed in the NHL, but it will never happen. If the NHL returned to maybe 20 teams. Having teams in the Canada markets, Detroit, Boston, Chicago, Philadelphia, Buffalo, New York, New York, Pittsburgh and Minnesota they'd be fine. The talent pool would be wider and the teams more equal, and people would care.
The cup finals wouldn't have the DUCKS in it or the HURRICANES or the LIGHTING or teams that dont draw viewers.
And as powerful as the NFL, Baseball isn't going anywhere and the NBA is still a huge money making monster no matter how poorly the game is marketed with that "thug mentality" and lack of fundamentals that just turn people off.

You realize that Brady had to throw the ball to his receivers right?
Do you honestly think Peyton Manning would have two MVPS if he didn't have Harrison and Wayne? You think he would have broken the record without them? Won the Superbowl without them? Nope he wouldn't have.

Lol Moss is way more important then Brady and here proof tht at cant be argued nor denied.
Moss has done this before. Moss has
-caught for 17 tds in a season-TWICE.
-caught for over 1600 recieving yards in a season
-averaged a touch down and 100 ypg over an entire season
-led the leagues highest scoreing offense ever (until this years Pats) as a rookie.
Brady on the otherhand, has never come close to anything like this until now when he hooked up with Moss. His previous career high in td's with 28. Give him Randy Moss and he randomly gets 50
So while they both need eachother to get say, a 100%....Moss alone gets himself 80% but Brady gets 50% at best.
Not only that but watch the games. Bradys has not thrown the best deep balls this year; contrary to popula b elief. He holds it for too long. Every deep pass should be hitting Moss in stride ala the 23/50th touchdown catch/pass or the way Peyton Manning does with Reggie Wayne. But for the most part, it is underthrown and Moss has to turn around, track it like a center fielder in baseball, ands catch against the body. Noted throws:
-the long touchdown against Buffalo 2nd game
-long pass in Indianapolis
-long touchdown against Pittsburg
-dropped long pass against NYg right before the 23rd
-both touchdown passes at Miami
He has done the same thing with Stallworth-at Indianapolis and I believe the Baltimore game-except Stallworth isnt 6'4 and cant jump or reach like Randy so the ball gets INTERCEPTED. He throws it a deep over the shoulder buts its under thrown.
Yeah, Tom is great. But lets get 1 thing straight.
1. He didnt win those Super Bowls by himself. He played well, but he was never a fantasy darling at all until this year.
2. Yeah, Peyton had Marvin and Wayne, now Brady has his. Doesnt mena he deserves MVP.
Brady had the statistically best seaon, but whose more valuable? Its Moss.

I completely disagree, there is no doubt that Moss makes Brady a better quarterback, just as Harrison makes Manning a better quarterback. The problem is that Brady won 3 Superbowls with out Moss but Moss has never won a Superbowl without Brady, therefore to me Brady is much more valuable than Moss. Do you think that the Patriots would have won this year with Matt Cassel at quarterback? You are right Moss makes Brady better, but you are failing to realize that Brady makes Moss better.

Really? Start Matt Cassel for the rest of the season and see how close New England gets to a Super Bowl.
This is Moss' first season worth anything since 2003. If I didn't know what a lazy ass, quitting baby Randy can be when he wants, I'd swear Brady resuscitated his career.
Brady's stats never popped off the page like this year, but it's not like he was pedestrian before. The rating has been good and he led the league in passing yards back in 2005.
It's nice to play with the numbers, but what it comes down to is, if you take Moss out of the lineup, the Patriots are still an elite team, capable of challenging for the title. We've all seen that happen with jokers like Brown, Gaffney, Caldwell, Givens, Patten and Branch (none of whom is really worth a damn) flanked out wide. Colts Defense-TM-Colts Jan. 11 - 5:26 pm et
The Indianapolis Star's Bob Kravitz believes Colts coach Tony Dungy will retire after the season.
Kravitz says this isn't a report, but points out several reasons why he thinks Dungy will call it quits. It won't be a surprise if it happens. Dungy has considered retiring after the previous three seasons and nearly called it quits after last year's Super Bowl win. If he goes, Jim Caldwell and Ron Meeks are the top in-house candidates to replace him.

Terrell Owens-WR- Cowboys Jan. 11 - 2:51 pm et
Terrell Owens (ankle) was "limited" in Cowboys practice Friday and is listed as questionable to play in the Divisional Round.
"I'm good. See ya Sunday," Owens said when asked about his high ankle sprain Friday. T.O. has practiced the last two days and will likely start and play extensively against the Giants.

The Eagles aren't cheap, they just spend money foolishly. Instead of investing in a true number on receiver they sign a guy like Kevin Curtis who was very productive but hardly a Terrell Owens type.
Joe Banner pretty much clarified both Donovan McNabb and Andy Reid would be back next year. With Reid back, McNabb will most certainly be back. Unless some INCREDIBLE deal is offered for him, but i doubt they'd even get a first rounder.

McNabb is a beast. Get him some recievers and hell put up MVP sized numbers Im telling you. If moss leaves the only team Id want to see him on is Phily.
No I realize that...but Moss has a bigger impact on Brady then Brady does on Moss, atleast numberwise and that cant be denied.
And Brady didnt win those super bowls by himself. Hes a qb-he plays offense, he doesnt control the defense which won them championships. Dont discredit the players that won those games by saying "Tom Brady won them" because winning a super bowl is a 110% team effort, dont believe me ask Trent Dilfer how the hell he won one.
Moss has been part the greatest offenses ever which as a wide reciever, is all he has any control over. Same for Brady. I dont see anybody blaming Brady for the Pats blowing it Indy. Brady needed help to win those Super Bowl on the other side of ball, Help Moss's team obviously needed and Randy couldnt control.
Would they have won this year with Cassel? Honestly...yes. 16-0 hell no, but playoff bound. Showtime your smart; watch the film. Just watch the film. More often than not, Moss is doing the bulk of the work. Obviously Brady has to throw it, but the throws are FAR from perfect, and thats not deniable. Im sick of people saying it takes "skill" to trhow a jump ball for Moss.
Hmm. You take the football and throw it high above everybody and let your 6'4 wid eout with freakish ups and even freakier longer arms and hall of fame worthy hands jump up and catch the ball. Or, you throw the ball as far down the field as possible and let him run past everybody and then out jump everybody and "Moss" them for the catch.
Dont buy it, Hes tried to the same thing with other recievers. He tried it twice this year going deep for Stallworth and 2 times hes gotten picked because he ****in underthrows the ball and Donte dont have the ups to get it.
Thats why the throws dont work unless he throws them to Randy, because donte Jabor and Wes cant do what he does. Like I said.
Bradys career high in td's: 28
Bradys tds with Moss: 50
Moss career high in td's: 17
Moss tds with Brady: 23
They obviously help each other, but Moss impact on Brady is far bigger, on the field at least. Brady has been great, and this year proved he needs a great reciever to be amazing. But Randy has been amazing, and he didnt need a great qb to do it (Cunningham, Culpepper).

Report: Colts offer Dungy perks to stay on
In a bid to keep Tony Dungy after this season, team owner Jim Irsay has offered the coach increased flexibility with his job.
Odd story to be coming out a day before a playoff game. Dungy's children have enrolled in Tampa-area schools and the team clearly believes he may be leaning towards quitting. Irsay is offering three-to-four months away during the offseason, and use of Irsay's private plane for family events. Dungy says he'll take a few days after the season to make a decision. Well, Tony won his super bowl. He's been around long enough and certainly made enough of a career for himself that with a Super Bowl win capping his career as a highlight he is ready to go off into the sunset. I could see him quitting, because with the death of his son James realism might have set in that football isn't life, and it may be time for him to retire and devote time to his family. After all he really has nothing to prove.

Falcons hire Patriots staffer to be GM
The Falcons hired Patriots director of college scouting Thomas Dimitroff to be their next general manager.
Dimitroff was with the Patriots for six seasons and reported directly to Scott Pioli. He's known for his scouting acumen, but it's surprising that he got the nod over an experienced candidate like Tom Heckertt. This hire will invite speculation that Dimitroff could make a run at Patriots coordinator Josh McDaniels at the end of the playoffs. Jan. 12 - 4:52 pm et

I've been wondering the same thing. I've heard Kerney's name mentioned ZERO times today, and Julian Peterson's only once. The Seahawks need to stop the Pack here, holding them to a FG, and go into the half making some serious adjustments. They've looked very poor on defense.
