yes, there has been a swelling of Pats and Red Sox fans here in Connecticut recently....damn bandwagon....I've been a Mets/Giants fan for as long as I can remember, regardless of their fortunes

I'm from CT as well, and I don't think it's a "bandwagon" mentality. We don't have a team, so we root for the closest team to CT. I'm sure if Connecticut had a baseball team or a football team specifically for us, we wouldn't root for them or even New England. We'd root for the home team (for example, CT is definitely Huskies nation)

No you don't....why don't you folks just make like Arizona Cardinals fans and resign yourselves to the fact that you'll never win anything more than a division or a conference?

Because Philly fans care.....

The last title your teams won is 1990, the last Philly won is 1983. I mean thats like Chris Farley calling John Candy fat.

Also, come on, New York fans are just as vicious and vile. Everyone knows that. It's the north east cold weather mentality. New York fans are quick to boo and turn on plays just like Philly and just like Boston.

Yeah that would be an extremely ridiculous call. Colts fans would riot and Tony Dungy would have to be fired!

Mister J

This is just a gutsy performance overall by the Chargers.

If you told me Gates wouldn't really be a factor, Tomlinson would only play a little more than 2 quarters and Rivers would go out late in the third, I would have said SD was in for a beating.

when the Mets collapsed late this season, fans still showed up to games and supported the team. the Rangers are stilll selling out games even though they are a mediocre team at best....new york sports have won past 1990...the yankees won in 98 99 and 00 and the rangers won their cup in 1994....I'm not a yankees fan but they have bought titles to the city

I dont see how the Colts can get down field again and score a td?

assuming the Chargers go 3 and out, the Colts will have a timeout after a Scifres punt. They'd need to go maybe 60 yards for the game winning TD in 1:40 or so and they have a timeout. Not impossible.

COME ON SAN DIEGO!

Typical Peyton Manning, the second things do not go his way he breaks down. I forget who said it, but whoever commented that Manning can't win when things aren't perfect is absolutely right. Meanwhile, San Diego wins with their two star players out. Hahah, can't wait to see Manning's crying during his post game press conference. The Colts benefited from some ****ty calls
Tomlinson didn't play much after the half

Exactly. Manning's touchdowns and yards were because of his recievers getting open. Not because of his ability. Manning threw two interceptions and froze up at the end of the game when he had two opportunities to win the game...and blew it. I'm really starting to think it is true, he can't win big games. Rex Grossman can only hand them to him.

Rivers acts like he's carried his team to this point. He was jawing at Jay Cutler during the Broncos game a couple of weeks ago and now he's talkin' trash to Colts fans after HIS BACKUP & DEFENSE won the game for him. To quote a great man, he should "know his role, and shut his mouth." Rivers, you ain't Brady, Manning, Favre or even Romo. When you come to Foxboro and Brady lights up your defense with 3-5 touchdowns and you get intercepted at least twice...just shut your mouth. Forget the fans, he should be thinkin' about the butt-whoopin' the Pats laid on them earlier in the season.

SANDERS: "PIRACY IS WRONG"

http://img251.imageshack.us/img251/6938/bob20sanders201fw5.jpg
OCTOBER 1, 2007 12:25PM EST
Colts safety sounds off on the state of the open waters

BY WILLIAM TURNER / COLTS CAPTAIN OF OCEANIC VENTURES

INDIANAPOLIS - Bob Sanders is known for many things. But few have pegged the greatest defensive player to ever play the game to be much of a sailor. But Sanders has a few words for those who doubt his ability to captain a ship.

"Don't doubt me."

With the Tampa Bay Buccaneers invading the shores of Indianapolis this week, Sanders has been candid about his feelings towards pirates. "I never saw them Pirates of the Caribbean movies, man. I think it's crazy how America is just openly accepting piracy nowadays and actually paying money to go see pirates. That's gotta stop now."

Sanders spends much of his offseasons sailing the ocean blue on the SS Badass, a ship Sanders calls, "the fastest thing on earth not named Dwight Freeney." Sanders also spoke on his general feelings on the team's upcoming opponent.

"The Buccaneers, man? They the worst of the worst. They stole games from people. Just outright robbed cats, and it's crazy. And they don't stop pirating on the field. I was sailing around France last year, and this cat Ronde Barber came around with his little ship and hopped on my boat, man. And Tiki was with him. It was crazy."

Peyton Manning was also surprised to hear of Sanders' ventures on the open seas, "You know, when I first heard about Bob's ventures on the open seas, I was surprised."

When asked how he would approach this week's game, Sanders just shook his head, "Piracy's gotta stop. The pillaging, the booty, the jewels, the drugs, the swords, the Orlando Bloom. All of it. And if that means I have to tackle every player, coach, scout, and cheerleader on the Buccaneers, then I gotta do it. It's crazy."

Yes...yes it does. The Colts got smashed by the Chargers twice in one year. Brady and the Pats have beaten the Chargers twice this year. Do the math folks. Oh yeah, Brady just won a playoff game and made his way to the AFC championship game with not ONE touchdown from Randy Moss. Brady > Manning.

But Brady has CAMERAS!

No, but seriously. Brady has always been better than Manning. Before this season and his 50 TD's. Their head to head records say it. Brady's record as a starter is incredible, the fact that a majority of that wins came before he had ANY weapons on the offensive side of the ball, which Manning has had since he broke into the league.

Peyton is a great QB, one of the best ever. But nobody is more clutch than Tom Brady. Not even Joe Montana or John Elway.

Wow, I didn't think New England would have to be concerned about San Diego. After seeing what they did to Indianapolis today, New England and San Diego could and will most likely be a great game.

My prediction? I think it's going to be New England and Green Bay in the end.

While I love my Pats, if Green Bay were to win it all this year, I'd be very happy for Bret Favre as I'd love to see him get one more ring before retiring from football.

There's no guarantee that the Pats will go 19-0. Anything can happen when the actual games come up and until the Pats actually go 19-0, it would be wise not to get ahead of ourselves as Patriot fans. I thought the Dallas Mavericks would sweep the Miami Heat and was confident that they would do so, and as a Dallas fan, we all know how that turned out in 2006.

So in any event, let's hope for a continuation of a perfect season with a Super Bowl win to top it off.
