View Full Version : HYPE SURVIVOR 19: Creepy on a Whole New Level - Day 14 - Meet the Exiles Part Deux
http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r62/stref2001/Survivor1.jpg
Well, after your weekend off, Jewhob's reign of terror is finally over. Well, not entirely...he is on the jury...but I think its more likely that he is going to vote against me than anyone else :csad:
The Rules (For You Lucky Non-Survivor Fans):
20 people will start this game. 18 will actually play this game.
Each 'day' is marked by a new challenge. Each tribe will receive team challenges (instructions for challenges will be explained for each challenge). Right answers during challenges will obviously earn points and wrong answers will be worth none. The tribe with the most points at the end of the 'day' (or round) wins immunity. The tribe with the least points must vote off one of their members via PM in a tribal council. Also, in this game... immunity may be decided by something other than trivia. You will be completely briefed on this before it happens, so do not fret. In the event of any ties, there will be a tie breaker question in which a tie will not be possible.
If your tribe happens to win three days in a row, then they'll be given a gift in addition to their immunity: they'll go to tribal council on behalf of the other tribe and they'll vote off ANYONE IN THE GAME THAT THEY CHOOSE.
At some point the tribes will be merged into one tribe. The game will only have one merge at a time already designated. Only the hosts will know about this day until the time it actually happens. There may be additional twists and turns throughout the game, so do not get too cozy.
Hype! Survivor is a game of both strategy and deception. Alliances are both permitted, and encouraged. So find a friend, and sex their brains out. Masterminding and forethought are the keys to success. Laziness and ineffective play will both be penalized and exposed. Hosts have the right to intervene at any point in the game for the sake of keeping dead weight out. As a side note: alliances can be with any of the 20 players... doesn't matter who they are... doesn't matter what tribes they're on... just make sure it's someone you trust... or not. As the old saying goes: keep your friends close, and your enemies closer.
The final Jury will be composed of 7 people: everyone voted off from the remaining seven players who didn't make the finals. The hosts will not be voting in the finals this time around. The Jury and only the Jury will vote FOR WHO THEY THINK SHOULD WIN of the final two remaining players to find the winner of the Hype! Survivor.
A note on cheating: It's very easy to cheat in this game. Very, very easy. Some of the rounds will be much more difficult to cheat at than others (some will be downright impossible to cheat on). Regardless, hosts have ways of catching you, and sometimes will even set up traps for you. If you feel you have to cheat, by all means, go ahead... but if you're caught, you WILL be penalized. Again, specific rules of what's legal or not will be in each challenge PM.
This game will not support dead weight. The last game I attempted to host ended prematurely as I recruited entirely new players, all of whom lost interest about half way through the game. If the host feels at any time that you are dead weight he reserves the right to boot you and replace you. Also, if your tribe feels that you are dead weight, they may petition me for your removal from the game and replacement with someone else at which point your case will be heard and it will be decided.
New to this game is Exile Island. The losing tribe has a player removed from their tribe from tribal council. The winning tribe picks who goes. This person is safe from tribal council but also forfeits his or her vote.
These rules are subject to change at any time with absolutely no warning. They are more of guidelines for the game. Specific rules for each challenge will be issued via Challenge PM. Any dispute with the host will be settled through the Ghost Host (aka: The King). He is a neutral party who will look at the dispute and decide who is in the wrong (it will probably be you, though). Just have fun and play your hardest and everything will be fine
(Note: I plagarized these from Kipobe and Toven)

Well, to those of you left, congratulations. You have made the final five. 20 people started this game, and you are that remarkable 1/4. Unfortunately...today your past is coming back to haunt you...again.
PMs will be sent shortly.
All PMs have been sent, you have until 2 pm est time tomorrow to complete your challenge

Hey, is that Bill Murray's brother's in Wayne's World?
I'd just like to inform players that this challenge need not become a guessing game. Research the potential answers, find what facts match people's personalities. Ask your potential answers for help (doesn't mean they'll give it to you). Don't simply guess.

Hey, quick question (totally unrelated to this challenge, or even this game), but when Matt voted himself out in Erz's game after winning the final immunity challenge in the final 3, if he had stayed, would/could we have won? It seems that on all levels, Clerk would've lost... especially since he was considered the "cool" kid with a "cool" kid jury, and yet he still only managed to wrangle one vote away from Slip... but I was wondering about Matt's chances if Matt went up against either player. They seemed pretty good from what I heard. Is that true?
If Matt had made another judgment call there, or if kypade had chosen to go to the finals with Tuki instead of CLW in mine and Toven's game, we'd have some different outcomes for the last two games.

Occasionally, but now... never. She played in my game because I asked her too, and then she sailed by on Toven's coattails all the way to the end. All she had to do was cast a vote and Toven would've made the finals, but she forgot and bumbled her way into the finals. This was after winning a fluke immunity...
...very similar to 'fire in the last challenge.

I could've beaten Clerk most likely. My chances against Slipknot were 50/50. I would've had to convince the jury that Slipknot was as much responsible for their being there as I was, even if he was the more silent of the two. But that would've taken away my chances as well as they would say "Well, doesn't he deserve to win over you, then?"
Clerk, I have always been under the impression that he would've stepped aside for me like he did for Slipknot. Plus, if nothing else could be said about Erz's game, he had an absolutely great jury who looked at who played the better game and not necessarily the one who did less backstabbing as juries in the past have done. I think those two factors probably would've given me the win over Clerk. But in all honesty, I just didn't feel right voting out either Slip or Clerk, because after Phere's betrayl they were the only two who had been loyal to me the entire game despite my ties with the other tribe...so I went they way I did and don't regret it.
You and Toven should host.

I think it is like a Survivor right-of-passage to ally with Toven and be backstabbed by her.
Hell, at least you don't do what I do and ally with her EVERY game you are in together, both knowing we will end up backstabbing one another just to see who can do it first. :woot:
Also, I doubt you guys will get the results until this evening. I have a lot of things to do today, plus the answers are saved on the computer in my office at the bar...so yeah.

Ironically, we've only been in one game together... which is weird since we both seem to be associated with just about every game since 2003... but just never at the same time. Tuk's game is the only time we paired up... and honestly, if I could do it over, I probably would. I am indeed a glutton for punishment. And she would screw me over again. :csad:

That's the same way the jury was in my last game. kypade had made more friends, had the better sob story, and screwed over nobody (except Brodie?) first hand... he hid safely behind the smokescreen of Tuk and CLW, and managed to actually stay around through challenges and not alliances...
But he also didn't work as hard as I've seen him do in previous games, and when he faced CLW (even though she had pretty much backstabbed everyone... or at least a good majority...) she beat him in a landslide because everyone knew she worked harder for it. That's a good jury.
What was the whole Dathphee thing about? I keep seeing people say he was a terrible ally and not to be trusted, even though I think he's only played in one game?
Matthew, how many submissions are we waiting on?

Darthphere and I allied, basically on the first day of Erz's game. There was a four way alliance with myself, him, Socrates, and Corinthian. We had control over our tribe. When Erz did a tribe mixup we were seperated. I still helped him out and vice versa (I even saved him from being voted out by Toven's lackeys when our tribe won three challenges in a row). Socrates betrayed the alliance and Corinth was practically nonexistent in it, so we sort of dropped them and replaced them with Slip and Clerk (who I allied with to ensure dominance over my new tribe).
So, at this point, with Socrates trying to get back on our good side, Corinth not doing much but voting as we said, and Lensherr sticking to the 'tribe loyalty' thing, the four of us ( Phere, Slip,Clerk, and I) pretty much controlled the game. We were going to go to the final four and then battle it out two on two (Phere and I vs Slip and Clerk).
Well, around the final 8 or so...Phere won three challenges in a row and voted out Corinth as I instructed. All was going as planned. Then, the next day...he decided to target me. Socrates informed me, and Slip, Clerk, Socrates, and I voted him out with a majority vote of 4 to 3. The only reason he gave for doing this is because "he wanted to shake things up". So yeah...he backstabbed an alliance that would guaruntee him the final four (and considering his ability at challenges, probably the final two) simply for the sake of "shaking things up". What makes even less sense is, he could've voted me out the time he had won three in a row and could vote anyone he wanted. Instead he waits until the following day when he THREW the immunity challenge to try it. A lot of his actions just didn't make sense.

It still perplexes me a bit to this day, because there was really no reason for it. I could get if Phere were in Socrates' position where he knew he was the odd man out and would be on the chopping block soon, but he wasn't. He was the exact opposite. He was sitting pretty and in all honesty on the road to winning the game. I'm fairly sure because of his involvement in the strategic aspect and his ability in the challenges he would've beaten me, Slip, or Clerk...and yet he made this move. And I'm still to this day not sure why.

I know... there's a lot of players that just make you ask "why". Not like the days when everyone had an agenda, and even when you didn't understand what they were doing, it was usually as part of the greater goal to win the game... but now it's all back/forth/up/down/left/right.

That is why I would probably never ally with Phere again. At least with some allies who backstab you, when their motivations are rational and for their benefit you can anticipate it, plan around it, etc. With someone like Phere all bets are off. THey are unstable players who will do things simply for the sake of doing them. You can't control something like that. It is just a burden on your strategy.

Hippie Hunter: War Journal, Day 18 (Day 14)
The final five has finally approached us! Ghost of Kipobe, Ghost of farmerfran, Immortalfire, Erzengel, and myself. To beleive that I once was the first person voted out of my tribe (second over all) in the last Suvivor I participated in, I have now lasted longer than 75% of the participants. To boot it off, I'm the healthiest one on board due to my stay in the Jury Island's Hospice. My spirits are up, even though food and water continues to be scarce. However, the burden is a lot easier to take on account that two of the participants are ghosts and I am back to full health. I let Immortalfire and Erzengel have most of the food that we gather because of it. The Hotel at Jury Island must be dead on account that the only member of the Jury that is not dead is Brodie and Matt excercised the ghosts that were not participating in the game (the ones on Jury will be called upon from the grave when the time comes).
Because JewHob died after the spirts were exercised, his ghost is still around wandering the area. He's rather annoyed that he's dead and the fact that he got booted off the game because Matt decided to use his penalty votes against him this time around.
You know now that I think about it. The death toll in this game is rather high. EL ASCENO, Spider-Nerd, TEDDY, Calvin, Socrates, Kipobe, Venom Drool, farmerfran, enterthemadness, Asteroid-Man, StorminNorman, JewishHobbit. You think a game with a 60% casualty rate would end as soon as the first deaths came. But noooo, apparently this death fest is good for the ratings. Matt told us that this is the best Survivior in terms of ratings in years!
Matt came to our camp around 11:00 AM to tell us our challenge. He had some facts about the former players and told us that we had to figure out which fact matched with which player. I'll have to admit this challenge was a toughie. I came in second place with Erzengel winning immunity.
It turns out that the ghost of farmerfran is an *******. While on the beach, he led Immortalfire to a bunch of so-called shrimp next to the shore. 'fire, who was still suffering from hunger grabbed them and ate them on the spot. It turns out, that they weren't shrimp though, they were little plastic Barbie and Ken pieces that were discarded in the ocean a long time ago. Surprisingly it took 'fire a while to notice that when he saw the heads. Five hours later, Immortalfire died from massive hemorrhaging in the ass. It's beleived that while crapping them out, the plastic Barbie and Ken pieces cut his anus up severely, on top of his malnutrition, hunger, and dehydration, he bled to death pretty quickly. We buried him in the graveyard, but decided not to hold a service. We're getting sick of funeral services. Because of Immortalfire's death, we decided to not hold Tribal Council on the fact that we would have voted him out anyways :o.

Maybe...but the players were instructed via the challenge PM to seek out the information. Not to simply guess. H_H knew Phere wore glasses, but he could've also been far sighted. Now if he PMed Phere, and asked him about it, I may be more inclined to give him the points.
