Okay just watched it twice more on thatvideosite.com and it was running loads smoother. Awesome fight between Harry and Pete, really brutal. I actually think the best part though is the monster Sandman. He looks amazing. Venom needs a lot of work but I like how monstrous he looks.

Some of the CGI in the fight needs touching up (thankfully it will be), the two main concerns are Peter finally grabbing the ring back and the little fight they have on the Sky Stick. It just looks they are in a studio with film being run behind them...which obviously is true but we don't want it to be that obvious.

I've always been disappointed in how the Spidey Vs. Green Goblin fights in the first movie turned out... and this totally makes up for it. This is exactly what I expect out of a Spidey Vs. GG fight.

Yeah well... you have to believe the story and get yourself IN the fantasy of the film, otherwise you won't be able to enjoy it. Because with that statement you can easily also say "bah come on, how can a man be crawling on the wall??" or "the web he shoots always grabs into some building... how lucky!"

The spider sense going off, in Spidey one he detected the Goblin like half an hour before he striked the balcony... what can you do :huh:. Instead of that, you have that amazing beginning for that also amazing fight :o

some CGI was not good.for example when we see harry behind peter on the bike, the harry CGI didnt fit with the rest of the sht. but it is not a big problem.

the fight was very good. i am still breathing very fast.venom nice.

where we see MJ and peter swinging.....MJ is sooooo CGI ;) but you only notice this if you pause it and look

That's exactly what I'm thinking. The movie probably starts off with the sequence so the viewer knows about the symbiote from the getgo.

The CGI looks amazing - I was lucky enough to see it Saturday projected digitally on the big screen @ Sony... the images look so awesome!

As Sam told us the film is still 8 weeks away from finished, some of the FX are not quite finished and the music, some is temp some is final... all in all Sam & Sony are very excited by this little scene-let from Spidey3...

No details, other than SONY is super-happy with Spidey3 and they, I think see 300 as the perfect place to show the new trailer... there was something new at WonderCon this past weekend with Spidey3, so maybe that could be it...

It's interesting, this footage has made me actually more excited to see the Monster Sandman as opposed to Venom. I hate Sandman yet love Venom. Wierd.

Well here is hoping that new trailer has the footage of Venom grabbing Spidey by the head and pulling him out of frame otherwise the Venom excitement will stay down. He just looked so bad in the new footage :(

They have a counter which is counting down to 7PM PST Tuesday night. I'm guessing this is the same material that we already got...I'm confused. Is this a miscommunication on Yahoo's part? Is this the same footage?

I almost feel over spoiled, but that chase scene with Harry and Peter was awesome!!!!

It was so cool to see Peter fighting without the spidey suit. You can tell by that scene how much the CGI has improved. Back in the original movie, I'm not sure if they could have pulled something like that off.

Also hillarious Pete's reaction to the razor bats, "I hate those things".

I dont want to go into that right now because I've been saying my piece for years. Right now, I just want to talk about sm3. I just saw the extended clip and Got damn!! it was perfect!! Peter vs. Harry was insane, that fight was better than any other fight I've seen on any screen period. The whole pete firing web balls was just so awesome, I think drooled all over my laptop. The thing that impressed me the most was, the swinging. Pete was swinging with both arms, something he's never done in any of the previous movies, so its nice to see, Raimi actually doing his homework for one. The speed and quickness was spot on, the brutality, the effects, were just simply poetic. Even the dramatic acting, impressed and didn't look boring like before.

I will say this again. When sm1 came out and after I bashed it to hell and back, I always said that not even sm2 will be that great and that we'll have to wait for sm3 to realy see spider-man and it so far has come true. Tmags even impressed me but I still want him gone after this movie, just to keep things fresh. This movie looks insane!:up: x 10 :word:

The only thing I can think of to say now is...WOW! The two words I kept saying as I watched it over and over again was "Holy S@#*" ! If THIS is only the enticement battle, then S3 will go down in history as the best action/adventure movie of all-time.

I wasn't going to watch this either but I'm a greedy fanboy who wasn't going to miss this for the world. Peter fighting without his costume was awesome, it actually makes tmags look believable as spider-man, this is the sort of fight I was hoping for in sm1 against Norman but right now who gives a crap? This is the here and now and its pure ownage, lastly, that little quip made by Pete was well timed, placed and emoted. SM3 will be the summer movie king. I honestly thought Shrek 3 and POTC would put up a great challenge but after seeing this, kids and the entire world will flock to see this movie like moths to a flame.

Right, just watched it...

disappointed by some aspects when it comes to continuity...

there's no way pete should have been jacked from his moped, we see from the second film that he can't get sneaked up from behind since his spider sense detects it...I wished they would have made some reference to norman's formula in the comics to get harry to sneak up on parker undetected. Parker didn't even really feel naked by the fact that someone was able to sneak up on him, i think they have dropped the ball with another subtle but great opportunity to reference the basse material.

aerial fight was good but in all it, just showed harry to be somewhat of a weakling...he really did get Pwned by a far more experienced pete. I think there should have been far more dialogue from harry's point of view. He didn't even get parker in a KO'ing position.

in reference to his father and also ock, harry's put in by far the worse effort when it comes to taking the spider out. If anything, if spidey had his head on clearly, he could have disolved the situation far quicker...

it just makes me wonder why on earth peter would want someone who was that bad at combat to go up against sandman or venom when from some of those additional clips, sandman could pretty much destroy them on his lonesome...

considering how pete took what i thought was an early bashing and came out pretty much with his suit still in good shape + wedding ring shows harry's efforts considering he had prep time on his side was pretty much a shambles...

he's wanted revenge for over a whole film and that's the best he can do....pathetic. Norman would be rolling in his empty grave...

Nice clip but SM trailers are always so uninspiring. The main characters are always such a bore to watch on screen especially PP/SM. When Aunt May becomes the biggest presence on screen something is not right.

I'm also surprised parker let him fall to his groom, it's not like we havent' seen him being able to multi task with webbing from one hand and catching from another or doing a web and quick catch in close sucession.

which is why him going down to a tightrope when he sees it quite clearly is beyond me...he has ample time to react to it by decides to force his way through it using his neck.

we know the glider would react to his jump because we see it flying automatic at one point in the trailer, his decision to try and pull pete's arms out of his socket by trying to pull on the webline with his neck is by far the stupidest one made by man...

actually second, his father's suicide glider routine was pretty poor as well...

Those are good points and I too would have prefered if Harry was caught in a huge web-net, struggling to break free but only making matters worse for himself. Although the action in this scene were overall a joy to watch at least imo, its riddled with inconsistencies and glaring errors.

That was unreal. For me, Sandman was the icing on the cake. It's easy to see where the money went. I was never a fan of the character and wasn't really looking forward to seeing him as much as I should, till now. I feel sorry for our hero already. How he's going to take him down, I don't know. Either Flint's family will calm him down or Harry, being the head boss of the place which transformed our misunderstood friend that he is, will toss some fancy gizmo at him and therefore, commence the shrinking.

Biggest let-down for me was Venom. I don't like how he looks now, but since we'll see him again in the upcoming trailer pulling our friend in spandex from behind with his hands, assuming that the early reports are legit... yeah, I can't wait. It should be great to watch... and I imagine this is where Raimi might come in and add a dose of his vintage horror directing here.

The aerial and alley fights were glorious. That's all I can say. I could watch them over and over again and still enjoy every minute of it, but I'd rather not get too used to the fights. That's what's cool about the villains in this trilogy being the Osbornes. Think about it, both Norman and Harry become creatures of extreme intensity and passion. Spidey remains detached and objective, which gives him the confidence to make smart-ass remarks.

what else can you say? it's great to see raimi REALLY taking advantage of spidey's powers in the fight scenes. I really like the quick web to the face near the start of the fight...and those impact balls. great stuff.

the cgi is a vast improvement- theres no way they could have done pete out of costume in the first movie.

that said...some quick parts do look a little unfinished- especially when harry freefalls back onto the glider. The bit where he tries to gain control and speeds toward the camera is a bit hokey.

Peter fighting without his costume was awesome, it actually makes tmags look believable as spider-man, this is the sort of fight I was hoping for in sm1 against Norman but right now who gives a crap? Now, if I were to say anything negative about this scene (and trust me, I think it's absolutely awesome, so these details aren't very important to me) it is:

1.) Spider-sense...
I agree with all the other posters the mentioned that Pete's spidey-sense should've gone off before Harry picked him up off the moped.
I understand that this would sorta get in the way of the entire action sequence, but they could've easily worked around it, for instance have Peter jump out of the way the first time (with spidey-sense effect and everything), then have the moped out of control and moving/flying towards a kid (or something) while Harry makes another pass. Now Pete would have to ignore Harry's second attack in order to save whomever it may be from the moped crashing into them. A split second after the save is complete, Pete's picked up by Harry.
Spider-sense problem solved.

2.) At the point where Harry chucks away a bunch of pumpkin bomb blades (or whatever you wanna call'em) he makes a funny sound.
Yeah, that's right. I said these weren't very important details.

3.) The moment before Harry is clotheslined is too long. That is, considering the time he has to react, he should've been able to dodge that piece of webbing. Harry's surprised reaction to the webbing should've been either made shorter or cut out.

I get that he's "miles away", but wouldn't he also "miles away" when MJ was gonna kiss him in S-M2? It just doesn't seem very consistent to me.

But this is a pretty big problem with the spider-sense as far as movies go. Since don't get to know Pete's thoughts all of the time, it's hard for the film makers to circumvent the spider-sense, as is so often done in the comics by having Pete's thoughts explain why he didn't act on a certain warning.

I'm going to chalk up his spider sense not going off to his being preoccupied with going to propose to MJ, and him just involuntarily ignoring it somehow. I don't know if that's ever happened in the books, but I'll assume that's what it is, because yes, it is a very big plot hole, you can't deny it.

I was at comic-con and went nuts when Venom was revealed. I thought they had gotten perfect. Why'd they feel the need to CG it up? Now he kind of looks like a sad baby penguin that got mixed up in an oil spill.

there's got to be a reason why his spider-sense didn't go off that we'll find out when we see the film. that scene is just so parallel to the scooter scene in SM2 where he has to flip out of the way of the car coming up behind him, i can't imagine Raimi ignoring the analogy and just having the spider-sense not go off. it'd be like having a scene in the next Superman movie where there's (again) a bunch of debris about to fall on pedestrians, but Supes not thinking to heat vision the debris into dust.

I was wide-eyed and grinning the entire time. Some great slo-mo shots, good to see the web-balls back, excellent show of acrobatics by Harry, the classic Spidey line about the razor bats and an ending straight out of a Looney Toons episode. It was all geekgasm. :up: :up:

You do realize that there's even more to it then that dont you??? Sam Raimi even said so when it was screened for Mr.SuperheroHype and other lucky ones who were at the Sony lot last week! "It's just snippits from various scenes, NOT all of it is in there!".... Besides, this is a "SMALL" fight, comparred to what we'll see in the film as a whole, that much is obvious;)

I think it looks o.k. the teeth being smaller is the only thing that threw me a bit. I'm sure it's a mid transformation thing though. That shot will probably be much different in the movie. I'm thinking it will like rotate around him while he's transforming. Then pan out and rush into the mouth.

They have needlessly changed his mouth, sure his eyes look better as does the symbiote as a whole...but even if this is an early transformation surely his mouth should be more pronounced?
