I'm new here but I'm not a fan of Topher in this either.
I think he would have been a better replacement for Tobey.

What's amazing is that we've heard Topher utter two or three lines, the movie does not come out for months, no one has seen him as Venom, and already we have fools unhappy. It actually sickens me, it's true, I actually feel queezy. Here's a thought, wait until the movie comes out. Most likely these same people will be unhappy, but at least they won't come off as a compete idiot.
It's like the Cub fans who have already started a "Fire Lou Pinella site". He hasn't managed one regular season game with the Cubs, but they want him fired. It borderes on insanity.

Here is who i think shouldve acted as venom... Josh lucas.
Is it just me, or do other people think that Josh Lucas would have been a terrible choice? One, Sam Raimi wanted a guy to be fairly the same age as Tobey (Lucas looks really old to me, maybe it's like the whisker-beard that he always has), and two, Topher Grace so far, to me, has been a great choice to be Eddie Brock, Jr...if they went with just Eddie Brock, then they should've picked someone else, but they're going with the Eddie Brock in the Ultimate Spider-Man comics, so Grace is a perfect choice...and they can't go wrong with him. And three, compare the two: Topher Grace and Josh Lucas...who would be better suited to play Eddie Brock, Jr. that is around Peter's age, and the exact opposite of Parker, but yet, has some likeness to Peter.

But topher is younger than tobey!

LOL Topher Grace isn't a character he's an actor. And shouldn't you have made this thread 2 years ago?

What on earth is the problem with people who hate Topher Grace as Venom!?
Why do you hate him? Just because he's not as unrealistically bulky as the comic Eddie?
I mean, in the comics they make him as bulky as a wrestler...
... tell me... how many Newspaper reporters do you know that is as big as a wrestler? ::)
So making Venom the same size as Spidey was a good decision... i can't see them casting a wrestler to play a Spidey villain...
"BoneSaw is REEEEEDIIII!!!!!!!!!"
:P
Anyway, I think Topher was a good decision. ;)

He's just a little kid who doesn't know better, or maybe an adult with a massive head injury. Worse is the fact that this idiotic thread is still open.
There are plenty of other threads for morons, spammers, idiots, and fools to whine about a character that we don't see for 2 months and have only seen utter 3 lines.

anyone who was more physically suited to play the part of a bigger more menacing character
a venom similar in size to spidey just doesn't cut it...
you might as well have a tiny rhino, juggernaut and hulk as well...
physically, people have to fit the build of those people they are trying to portray

Use the ignore funtion
You can't ignore a new thread. It's like trying not to look at a car accident. You just can't. However, I thought the mods were supposed to delete spam/useless threads.
Not only is it an incoherrent and pointless thread, but there are dozens of other existing threads that it could have been inserted into.
You have to really be a loser to complain about the casting of a character you have seen for 10 seconds in total.

I don't think you guys understand the plight of vanilla midgets. Because of people like you and Kevin Nash, vanilla midgets have been set back for years and have had to struggle for EVERYTHING. Vanilla midgets can't do this or that, because they are vanilla midgets. Too small. Not muscley enough. Too short. They have no charisma. They can't talk, can't cut a promo.
Well **** that ****. The vanilla midgets are going to have their revenge on May 4th, and we aren't going to hear any more of this "RECAST TOPHER GRACE" nonsense. And the vanilla midgets, 100 pounds soaking wet, are going to show that they can and will . . .

As much as I agree with you, why do you feel the need to use symbiotica's words, especially when she's not here? The less I see of anything that reminds me of her the better.

My biggest beef with Topher being Venom is that he would have been the perfect replacement for Tobey. When I first heard he was cast for the movie I was a little excited, because I thought he was hired to replace Tobey (nothing against Tobey, I just think Topher would be better.) Though, from what I've seen in the previews Topher will be a fine Venom.
