Hey Hollywood, go f**k yourself!
Seriously, this isn't even funny anymore. What is the deal with all the goddamn remakes?
IESB reported Wednesday that Darren Lynn Bousman will be directing a remake of CHILDREN OF THE CORN. Sweet. Let's just give up on originality all together and just keep remaking the same 50 movies for the rest of time. Sound good?
The IESB article can be found here, and even though they have an update from the guys at Bloody-Disgusting that Bousman is not directing this film, IESB still claims that their source has confirmed his directing.
Truthfully whether or not Bousman directs the remake isn't the real issue. The issue is that with all the original story ideas floating around, why do they keep making these f**king remakes. This is by far the worst trend to ever come out of Hollywood and makes me sad that the industry is heading in this direction. Let's hear what ya'll have to say about this. Spit some bullets below."

Pretty soon, every franchise will jump on the reboot train.

Hey, another remake that no one will see.
If Hollywood is going through money away on them, send some over my way

I never read Stephen King's Children Of The Corn book but maybe the remake will be more true to his story.

I think they should go the Leprecauhn in Da Hood route and call it Chill'un of Da Cizz-orn.

I actually would love to see a good remake, than a crappy sequel.

I'm not too upset about this remake trend, since it mostly seems to affect horror movies, and those suck anyways.

Blockbuster just wants to fill our their B-movie section, since every one steals the good B-movies

Yes they suck...less than any other genre.

Considering the primary theme of the story is religious fanaticism overtaking an area thanks to blind ignorance, a modern remake would be perfect right now; not to mention the finale not being able to be done justice in the original because of lack of money and resources at the time.

Here is the latest on the remake of Children of the Corn:
SCI FI Channel has cast its upcoming Children of the Corn remake, with David Anders, Kandyse McClure, Preston Bailey and Daniel Newman coming aboard the two-hour TV movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The movie, based on the Stephen King novel, features Anders (NBC's Heroes) and McClure (Battlestar Galactica) as Burt and Vicky, a couple with marital problems whose attempt at a second-honeymoon driving trip ends up taking them into a seemingly deserted rural community that conceals a grim secret among its rows of tall corn.
Bailey plays boy preacher Isaac, while Newman plays his rebellious right-hand man, Malachai.
The movie, set to air next year, is shooting in and around Davenport, Iowa. Donald P. Borchers is directing from his own script.
The TV movie is supposed to be two hours long

WTF? Children of the Corn on the Sci-Fi channel? How does that even begin to make sense?
And anyways, yep, the remakes that are coming out are going to be numbering in the tens. On imdb, at one point in the FAQ for Friday the 13th, there was a whole list of remakes. I saw Poltergeist and The Witches among them.
I believe someone should merge...
