yeah but it could still be funny. imagine a big grin on his face, lookin all happy and WHAMMING ppl with a big slap! that would be twisted and funny as hell. kinda like penguin when that clown says "great speech oswald" and then SMACK!:woot:
Oh for sure. I picture it being really funny yet scary at the same time. We see this clown taking pleasure in hurting these innocent people. Awesome. If it was Heath who improvised with it then I applaud him cause its sounds freaking sick. If it was Nolan who thought of it...genius as usual. :woot:

Sounds pretty real, can't see any discrepancies. We know Ledger was there, that he's been practising his laugh, he has clown goons, it was a party held for Dent, Batman breaks in, Bruce arrives with models. The helicopter bit is new, but it was supposed to be the top floor. Pretty detailed stuff

This Joker will be much "darker" then Jack Nicholson was in 1989, it seems. That doesn't mean he won't be The Joker. That doesn't mean he won't have a sense of humor. It just means his sense of humor will be really sick, and he will do more sadistic and evil things then say... Joker in Batman 89 did.

how?
I'm having questions inside my head about this matter as well!.... They're FIGHTING!... I know that Nolan wants a logical explanation for everything in these films (which I'm loving!!!). So how will he explain Batman having trouble kicking the **** out of the Joker at ANY LEVEL WHAT SO EVER!???
We all saw how batman "killed" off 9-10 guys all at ones with EASE in the first film, and within no time at all (when he first appears as batman at the dock!). So why should the Joker be a problem??? Unless of course we'll learn that the Joker is also HEAVY in to martial arts!!!... but would that work???????????????????????????????????

Yeah that's right. I figured that the bank robbery would happen at the start of the film and then his gang would disband afterwards -- not sure why I thought that.
One minor thought, continuity-wise: if the end dialog from BB is in reference to the bank robbery, why would Gordon be referencing only the Joker and not also his group of assistants? The robbery certainly seems like (and is) an organized multi-person undertaking.

Good point, hmm. I'm not really sure how the goons fit it, someone mentioned they have no idea where their leader is for the first half of the film. But then its also pretty clear they don't know he's Joker until half-way through the robbery. *Head explodes*

Not really. The Joker hasn't really been one to literally tell jokes all the time, and the ones he does tell aren't funny. It's not like, say, The Riddler, who DOES tell riddles.
I just don't get where you are coming from, or why you are disappointed with the news. Do you somehow think that The Joker should NOT be "flat-out evil", or "a sadistic bastard"?

They took it down because of the spoiler controversy thats like dividing the board over there. Think about the WWF when they had their draft for RAW and SMACKDOWN. Jett keeps going back and forth about how to deal with spoilers and set reports and semi spoilers and speculation..etc etc. Myself and others got upset when he took all spoilers off of the forum (which lead to me creating my own spoiler forum -- see below - feel free to join). When he posted the report, he had said anything he posts on BOF news page is allowed in the forums. So i took it to the forums as did a few other posters. I guess Jett changed his mind and didn't want it discussed on his forum, so he pulled the report. I'm trying to find out who THE GOON is to get him to report to my boards and keep us in the know. You explained it fine, its just the connecting arm on the Tumler looks far larger than on the bike, I could be wrong. But it could even be a modified Tumbler they're using. I just don't see Nolan going that elaborate without telling us, feels like cheating

well Jetts policy on his website is that
"BOF's SPOILER policy: BOF DOES NOT post information that would ruin the enjoyment of the film, but DOES get people excited and interested in the BATMAN film series. However, BOF does post information that some may deem a "spoiler." Therefore, read at your own risk."
The Goon supplied him information of important scenes in TDK which could ruin the enjoyment of some who rather not know.

I love Jett and all for keeping the Batman dream alive those years between B&R and BB ... but we need a competitive website run by a guy who'll post the things that Jett would normally say "I heard something great, but I can't tell you" to.
What's the point of having all these great sources when you only post what you want to post? Maybe some are too big of a spoiler ... but that's what spoiler tags and text the same color as the background are for.

I think what Jett's thinking right now is: respect WB, and get the better scoops later (the exclusive ones provided by WB). I think his new stance on spoilers is a bit of both keeping a good relationship with WB, and pleasing fans/BOF'ers who want to come into TDK surprised.

It's a set report.
It's not like his source is on some confidentiality agreement, he was paid to be at the scene, and the info was simply passed on. I could understand if these spoilers were script excerpts or something and were meant to be hidden, but this?..

There's several other Batman news sites that post everything they're given, if Jett doesn't post a scoop it'll just be sent elsewhere. The only problem for BOF is that they'll become a less visited niche, but if they're happy with that who cares. Alot of people want a spoiler free forum and their front page posting big stuff confused that

yea i'm not being downright horrible towards jett, he does a great job. i'm just pointing out a home truth.
This is from BOF:
After second guessing my judgement, I decided to take down the earlier report sent to BOF by "The Goon." Even though it was found on a separate page and I did issue a strong warning, I felt it was simply too spoilerish and that I had violated my own spoiler policy. My apologies to everyone...

Maybe because the scoop is wrong? From the interview with Nathan Crowley below, it's said that Batman needs Batpod for a specific reason, he requires to do something he can't do. Nathan Crowley built it after reading the script. So I think the bike must be separated from the Tumbler.

Q: What's the difference between this and the Batmobile?
CROWLEY: All I can tell you is that Batman needs a second vehicle for a very specific reason. He doesn't choose it... he requires it to do something he can't do. That's all I'll say!
Interesting. Maybe for driving down a narrow tunnel/alley type thing?

The seat is rotational? That is beyond cool. Can you post it to the Batcycle thread? Then this one doesn't get derailed
Q: What exactly is the "Batpod?"
CROWLEY: It's Batman's new vehicle from "The Dark Knight." It comes from the same family as the Batmobile that he got from Morgan Freeman's character, Lucius Fox. The Batpod is as fast as the Batmobile, it's self-standing, it has front weaponry, and it can lower itself to protect its rider. It can fit through small spaces, and the seat is rotational, so even if it falls over, the rider can't be thrown off.
Q: What's the difference between this and the Batmobile?
CROWLEY: All I can tell you is that Batman needs a second vehicle for a very specific reason. He doesn't choose it... he requires it to do something he can't do. That's all I'll say!
Q: What was the inspiration and how long did it take to create the Batpod?
CROWLEY: We went through the script and realized we needed a new vehicle. The design came out of the script, and then I just had to invent something that would be worthy of Batman himself. I wanted it to relate to the Batmobile. Also, fans should expect a lot of other cool "Bat Toys" in the new movie. It's going to be sensational!

Ah, well if that was the case here, then I stand corrected.
But let's face it though, set reports are a common thing nowadays, it happens with every movie. If taking these reports down does lead to a bigger scoop in the future, then more power to them.

i'm now thinking that that purple pickup is going to be used for a stunt of some kind. it's pretty distinct looking (weathered) and the back tires are smaller which would allow it to accelerate faster. it's been up there for about a week now.
the other older purple pickup is nowhere to be found...
notice how there are street lights strewn about as well. i think that once they're finished with the GPD rooftop shooting they're going to set up those lamp posts to dress the surrounding set differently.

i'm wary of people sending in big spoilers on the heals of big news. they always seem to state the obvious, and yet leave any unknown details out of it. take the "escape pod" tip for example -- if it's an escape pod OF COURSE it's going to come out of the tumbler as it explodes, when else would be a good time for that to happen? dent and rachel together? well it's convenient that we've just about compiled enough circumstantial evidence to support that claim.
GOON's spoiler blowouts have brought absolutely nothing new to the table. the tips just "confirmed" things that have been discussed here for the last month. very suspicious.

I'm here. I don't 'lurk,' I have a life, and it involves a a long weekend hanging out with Bruce Wayne and some supermodels. You all can catch this handsome face on the IMAX in July 2008, since they used IMAX to film our scenes. I got some up close and personal time with one of the supermodels (you know, a real woman who you don't communicate with over myspace or IMs). I grabbed onto her when the Joker attacked. The producers liked it but then they had another guy do the same thing to the supermodel in later takes, but hopefully they will use mine.
Later on I help save the partygoers by ushering them away from the fight. One of them is the hot supermodel. Look for a handsome dirty blonde dude up on the screen in thirteen months grabbing up one the hot blonde supermodel - you can't miss me (or us!) I've been told I fashion a young Flash Gordon, but since this is the Batman Universe I'll settle for a buff Tommy Elliott :)

Just looking at those pictures shows that if the batpod were a part of the tumbler, it couldn't use either of the front tires and the back ones are too big. The article about the batpod said that the engine is inside the wheels, which we can see is not possible with the tumbler's wheels. We can also see underneath that there are no other visible tires, so either the tumbler is changed during the film, the pod is completely inside the tumbler and out of view, or we are expected to have a serious suspension of disbelief during the scene. Either that or the post was just plain wrong about where the batpod fits into the movie.

That scene will be tough to explain to my wife, but I was just "acting." Of course, she didn't see what went on behind the scenes, but "hush hush"
LOLZ
LOL, maybe Nolan will personally ask you to replace Christian Bale as Batman in the movie, judging by your brilliant performance as an extra. Look out Hollywood this guys star is on the RISE!!!!!

They aren't boat lifts, they're drawbridges.

If only being an extra actually got someone credit for being in the film... ;)
It's pretty lucky that the guy got to be involved in such a key sequence as the big party being crashed by The Joker. I actually had to pass up my extra work in The Dark Knight because I had to film my role in an independent film. It may not have been in tuxes and with Chris Nolan at the helm. But I got to create a character who spoke actual lines and take part in some pretty intense sequences.
As an actor, it really just depends on whether you want the glamor or the work. I'll take the work over anything.

It was a rough choice, but the filming was before Nolan & Co. had returned to Chicago. I guess they were taking plates for CGI later and other group shots.
The pic my avatar is from is of my director (not pictured) and me after filming my big death scene, which is also the first death of the film (due to my character being a total dick). They've been saying that the teaser trailer, reportedly featuring me, may be going online soon. PM me if you'd like to get updated when it comes along.

* The Joker’s face is different, yet similar, to the pictures that have been released.
* Extremely different both look-wise and in manner to the two previous live-action interpretations.
* The white face looks to be “cracking” -- like dried-out face makeup.
* The Joker’s hair is long, greasy, and colored blondish/brown with green “highlights.”
* His clothing gives off a “…a demented Willy Wonka” vibe. The Joker also “…wears a long velvet purple trench coat with a diamond pattern purple shirt, a green vest, and very waist high purple pants. He sports purple gloves and a very long chain wallet.”
* There is nothing, and I mean NOTHING funny about TDK's Joker. He's one sadistic bastard. He'll be hated.
* From what “The Goon” has heard, Heath is taking The Joker to “…all-new f***ed-up levels.”

Hmm, so educated guesses here but with the info above, Ledger being in London at the time, and what we know about the police station rooftop/garage in Chicago (purple truck, tumbler, stunt wires, breakable walls, SWAT, police dogs, gun firing rehearsals), I'd say a mammoth action scene will happen at the police station

Here's a new set report from Chicago.
From dpnash:
My street's gonna be famous! [Jun. 15th, 2007|08:56 am]
So yesterday morning when I left for work they were setting up trailers & trucks for a movie location shoot on my block. But it wasn't clear yet which one. I didn't get home until 9:30pm, though, cuz I went direct from work to dinner and movie with a friend. As the friend was dropping me off at home and we saw just how much stuff was parked on the street, with a small crowd of neighbors observing we realized it was obviously the new Batman movie!
It's not every day a major movie films across the street from your apartment, right?
Unfortunately I really didn't see much, other than Gary Oldman in his full costume & makeup as "Lt. Gordon." The cast trailers were all parked on the basketball courts of the school that my building is next to. The filming was across the street from there, in a building on Cuyler and in a small alley/parking lot area behind it. Some kids told me that Christian Bale had indeed been there earlier in the day or evening, and that he'd been driven the short distance across the street from the trailers to the set, to avoid getting mobbed or photographed. (I heard Heath Ledger's name mentioned by the crowd but dunno if anyone actually saw him.)
Speaking of photographs - I didn't take any. I brought my camera out, in its bag, in case there was something to shoot. But I saw a security guy stop a guy who had his cell phone camera out. So I figured they'd totally freak if I whipped out a 6-megapixel DSLR! Even though I question the legality of "not allowing photographs." From everything I've read, if I'm standing on a public sidewalk or street, anything I can view from there is fair game for photography. Movie or no movie, my impression is that they can ask that no photographs be taken, but I don't know that they could actually stop you or arrest you. (well, I mean, they could claim as much and arrest you anyway just to harass you, but I don't know how legal that is in the end.)
Besides which, the only picture I coulda got was of the group of neighbors waiting in hopes of a glimpse of something. Or of a big "cherry-picker" type lift, which was holding up a big lighting rig over the height of the 6-flat apartment building being used. I think what they were doing was creating fake daylight in the alley/parking lot behind the building, so they could continue a daylight shot during night hours.
Oh, and the crew - depending who you asked, they either wouldn't say anything about what movie it was, or they said it was something called "Rory's First Kiss." Despite the fact that there was a Gotham City Police car parked in the school parking lot. And despite Gary Oldman walking around in recognizable costume! Hehehe. They knew damn well they weren't fooling us. And whenever someone walked by and asked, the onlookers said "Batman."
So it was both very cool, and kinda disappointing at the same time. At any rate, when the movie comes out I'll be looking for glimpses of my street!Source: http://dpnash.livejournal.com/

Hello! Are you a sharp looking African American male 18 to 60? Do you have suits and look attractive? (Yes, I'm talking about all you beautiful men). Well, there is a very cool scene for you! This shoots on Thursday, June 14th and possibly other dates. These are non-speaking roles. Non-speaking, yes, cool... totally!
These are paid extras positions on a Warner Bros. feature film. Don't miss out. Be part of this wonderful film.
If you might be able to do this scene and you fit the bill please e-mail me a photograph with your name, all your stats, and phone number ASAP!
e-mail to: jadeph@gmail.com
Thank you so much and have a great day.

Why would they specifically need sharp, beautiful, black men? There's a joke in there somewhere

signs have been put up around the garage pointing to an extras' meetup point and RFK crew base camp. given that there were no extras involved in the BB rooftop shoot it's safe to assume we're going to see something larger in scale.
they're very close to being able to shoot. so much that it's making me nervous that they might shoot tonight. the rooftop is immaculate now, all debris and equipment from construction have been removed. lights are all set up on the streets below, power cables attached. the only thing that's missing is the massive lighting vehicle (http://sleepless.blogs.com/george/08_lighting_truck.jpg) used to brighten the block. once that bad boy arrives we'll know they're ready to begin. that said, i'm contemplating swinging by later.
