I'll be mildly disappointed if he does. Unless there's a tunnel that takes him away from the penthouse before it surfaces, some abandoned building would be better if he has to have a garage in Gotham.

Interesting idea: what if Bruce had bought several abandoned/crappy industrial buildings throughout Gotham, and had access to at least one of them from the penthouse? The Tumbler could be concealed inside of one (seemingly buried beneath a mound of construction garbage, or behind a false brick or sheetrock wall.) Even if someone stumbled into the building, they wouldn't necessarily be able to find the "hidden room" where the Tumbler and other Bat-toys might be housed.

Just a thought!

Press charges against anyone taking pictures? That's ridiculous if the filming is being done out in the open. As for recording production, again, they can't stop people if it is out in the open. If a person sneaks onto a set (though what defines "a set" if it on a public street/sidewalk), the property doesn't belong to them. Only a property owner can sue for trespassing. Now, if someone sneaked into a trailer, that would be trespass on private property.

So these threats are meaningless in a legal sense.

I'm sure it wouldn't hold up in court, but it sure would be a pain in the ass and a waste of time if you had to appear before a judge to explain yourself.

I know what I know and I have done what I am here to do and shared that info. Make of it what you will.

Hello everyone!

I am new here and only recently learned of this site's existence and it is fascinating how you guys are finding out all of this information and relaying it to others! I used to live in LA in the late 80's/early 90's and visited many a film set out there! ("Lethal Weapon 3," "Wolf," "Indecent Proposal," "The Wonder Years," etc.). I used to get the daily permit sheets where they listed what films and TV shows were being filmed when and where! It was a grind to find info sometimes...and you had to deal with security like you've mentioned here, as well as irate neighbors who were "tired of these movie people creating all this chaos all the time!" But if was FUN!

I live in the Minneapolis area and was down there a few weeks ago and saw the "Gotham National Bank" facade . It was SWEET to actually see those words on a city street! The security guard said that they had filmed some guys going down a (zip) line earlier and that "the 'Bat Chopper' was flying around!" (Not quite!) He also said they would be filming the bus' getaway scene the following Monday. Unfortunately, I had to leave Sunday night!

Anyway, I am coming down this weekend to go to the Volo Auto Museum and would like to find out where they might be filming Saturday night, if at all! ANY info would be appreciated!

Back to Volo, some of you might know who George Barris is! He is going to be there at the Volo Museum meeting fans and signing autographs! So, if any of you are in the area....or if filming has stopped for the day and you want to go see the man who designed the classic TV Batmobile (a replica of which is there!)...AND introduce yourself to me, come on down! I will be around either George or the Batmobile...or both! I shouldn't be TOO hard to recognize!...

At around 4PM, there was some activities (bunch of white movie trucks) around Daly Plaza. I'm not sure if filming took place early this morning or if something is happening tonight. Daly Plaza would be on the right in the pic below (not pictured... there was as arab party thing going on unrelated to TDK).

On 06/30/07, I was in downtown with my family. When passing the Daley Center (Daley Plaza?), we saw a bloody corpse (a movie prop) lying on the back of a truck. We got out of the car to take a closer look and saw two guys standing at a table, right in front of the corpse, shuffling through dozens of decks of cards, sorting out all of the Jokers. The cards looked dirty/burned, and the guys were spraying them with some kind of chemicals. When we asked them about the "The Dark Knight", they told us that they didn't really have much to do with the production of the movie, they were "just cleaning up". They did tell us, however, that "The Dark Knight" crew was filming in the Daley Center as we spoke (This was around 5:30 pm). That was interesting to me because I thought that the movie wasn't filming during "The Taste of Chicago", and when I asked the guys about it, they said that they'd be filming interior seens during "The Taste". The two guys told us that the crew was filming on the upper floors of the Daley center, and we noticed that all of the windows on one or two of the floors were bolted off (we're not sure if this has anything to do with the movie, but it might). I also know from experience that the Daley center is filled with courtrooms, so I'm guessing that they are filming court scenes (possibly Dent's transformation to Two-Face?).

If they are filming court-rooms scenes though, I have a few questions.

A) Are they allowed to film in public court rooms? It seems odd that that would be legal and that they wouldn't have to resort to some sort of set.

Just saw them wrap up shooting in the Old Town neighborhood in Chicago. Production trailers were everywhere! They filmed scenes earlier today at a bar called “Twin Anchors” and then just filmed another scene up the street involving a Mercedes E-Class. There was an older lady sitting the driver’s seat (in front of a nice brownstone) and it appeared that the car had been hit/partially blown up. The coolest part was that there were playing cards EVERYWHERE! Didn’t see any significant actors but I did see Nolan, who was dressed nicely as usual.

Haven't they finished filming in the Chi already? Or are they waiting until the 'Taste of Chicago' thing is done?

Filming won't stop till September. They were filming something in Daly Plaza yesterday (as another user stated), so I'm not sure if they stopped filming for "Taste of Chicago". Taste of Chicago is in Grant Park. None of the film locations (that I know) have taken place in that area.

As of 063007, the parking lot where they store trailers still had trailers parked there (even along the street).

Also, the Chicago Post Office is "Gotham National Bank" again (why they took down the signs after April seems odd as one would think it'd be cheaper to leave the sign up for future filming). The post office is also doubling as "Gotham Police Department" (the east side of the building). Someone posted pictures before, so I didn't take any.

If they are filming court-rooms scenes though, I have a few questions.

A) Are they allowed to film in public court rooms? It seems odd that that would be legal and that they wouldn't have to resort to some sort of set.

B) If it is a courtroom, then what "corpse" could possibly be present?

A) You know, you have a point, it's possible that they weren't filming court scenes; however, as I said in my previous post, the Daley center is basically a courthouse, and the courts are closed on the weekends. If the courts were opened, I'm sure that they wouldn't allow filming, but this filming took place on Saturday.

B) The corpse was outside and across the street. I doubt that it had anything to do with the court scenes.

The issue of too much military/police state/escalation/etc.. was already evident in BB, and I'm sure it will be even more apparent in TDK. Its not a main concern of the film, but its there. If you are knowledged enough with the current state of politics in the real world then you pick up on this. BB had very subtle things spread out throughout the the film that dealt with several issues that are/were happening in the here and now.

The following is a fairly "spoiler-free" report of TDK shoot in Chicago on June 27 and 29, 2007 from our insider deluxe, "A.P."


Thursday last week saw an interesting scene that took place in "dingy" bar in the[URL="http://www.batman-on-film.com/TDK_Chicago2_AP_shoot-report_6-27and29-07.html#"][]Park area.
More fun was the second scene filmed a few blocks over, still in Lincoln Park, where the TDK crew had taken over the whole quiet neighborhood block that had rows of pristine townhouses. They removed all the vehicles on the block replacing them with prop Gotham cars. Scene involved a few minor characters at a doorway of one of the townhouses and then two of them getting into an unmarked Gotham police car. The other, a women, entering her Mercedes Benz and then [Spoiler deletion - Jett]…which was magnificent! One take, thankfully, but boy what a take! The special effects guys did an incredible job. I am sure this was rehearsed somewhere else as the whole thing seemed to exact, there were no surprises....These guys are just amazing at what they do!
Lots of important][FONT=verdana]ChicagoPD and fire department were also on hand.
There were hundreds of people in the neighborhood watching this scene and I'm very surprised no one got this on film and it hasn't surfaced on the internet.
Friday brought Christian Bale to the Gotham National Bank for a scene with Lt. Gordon. [Christian was in the] Bat suit and even the Bat-RV was there -- the mobile fridge that is used to keep Mr. Bale Cool between takes.
Other things shot that day brought lots of SWAT extras Gotham Police and forensics teams and the press corps.
Gary Oldman shot several scenes both inside [and outside ]the “bank.” [The latter] was a very quick scene at dusk -- set up took longer than the actual filming of the scene.
