Hey Guys, So I was walking today and realized that there was this huge light shigning on a building, and on the side it said " Movie Lights' and I then realized this had to be for batman! So to make a long story short i finally found out they were shooting at a Hotel penhouse.

So i make my way up the elevaor ( i acted like i was staying there) and I make my way to the 38th floor ( you cant get up to the 39th, where there shooting) and I peaked around a bit and got to see some cool ****. But then i got kicked out and sent back to the lobby.

but on my way out, guess who I saw coming in? MAGGIE GYLLENHAAL, I tried to get a pic but she ignored me :(. But whatever scene there filming up there its got Christian and Maggie. Im going back tommorow to try and wait out the entrance to meet some actors!

Friday, (Christian) Bale will film scenes as his Bruce Wayne character with Rachael and in the suit as Batman. Some of these scenes are in the Wayne Penthouse bedroom and some on the adjoining rooftop.that's one we can check off

AMH has to be The Riddler if he's a "well-known" character to the general public. No one even knows who those other characters are that some of you guys are naming off, unless you read all the comics, and most people who will see this movie don't. I say he's Nygma...and just maybe we'll get a riddle to close out TDK...kind of like we got a joker card to close out BB.

I dunno, AMH still doesn't strike me as a super-intelligent guy.... but Jim Carrey did make The Number 23, so who am I to judge?

SET REPORT: July 6/7th

Man have I got a story for you guys. So I get to Hotel 71 around 3pm today to make sure they are shooting. Sure enough there are 'RFK' crew around with security still on the 38th floor. Since there wasnt much activity I decided to check back tonight based on information that they were shooting a scene on the 'GCPD' roof... and continuing shooting in 'Bruce's penthouse.' I went down around 10, and sure enough the hotel was SWARMING with activity. Tons of trailers set up, 'RFK' personnel everywhere, white vans, security, equipment, etc...

I stood there for awhile to see if there was any building in the area that I could get on top off in order to see the roof to see if there were shooting the 'GCPD' roof scene. In doing so, I see 3 'GCPD SWAT' extras walking into the hotel, so I followed them all the way into the elevator. So its me and 3 members of the Gotham SWAT team. Going up the elevator I said... 'SWAT, huh?' They got very nervous, and get simply said 'Uh...ya...'

I left the hotel again to try and get on a roof nearby to get a better look at the activity. Unfortunately since its in the business district its very hard to get in a building, much less to the top with a view of Hotel 71.

It was then, walking around I saw two HUGE lighting trucks with stadium lighting, which was backlighting the surrounding skyscrapers which they wanted in the backround. (I have pics of these)

It was then I stumbled upon another nearby hotel, which had a balcony half was up the hotel, that had tons of lighting. I assumed this would be the GCPD roof. I decided to go up to the top floor and see what I could view. I had to walk up 3 flights of stairs since the elevator would only go to floor # 22. Sure enough I open the door to floor 24# and I see basically a floor under construction, with huge spotlights on the balcony to light the outside of the building. No one was there so I was able to get a look.

Sure enough, not 100 yards away I had a perfect look to the 39th floor of Hotel 71 aka Bruces penthouse. I could see EVERYTHING. Its obviously a HUGE suite, but they had 3 cameras set up, and I saw Chris Nolan walking around trying to find the right shot. It looked as if Christian Bale and Maggie were dressed up ( I believe in black) drinking glasses of wine. It is obviously a nightime penthouse scene with Rachel Dawes and Bruce. I decided to walk out onto the Balcony and take some pictures.

Unfortunately, when I did, the flash lit up the entire sky, and since they were right behind me, they could see it. I got the heck outta there as fast as I could since I wasnt suppose to be there.

When I walked past Hotel 71 again, I saw another 3 GCPD SWAT members sitting outside on a smoke break. I asked them for a picture, and nervously they said 'NO.' People from the production were nervous I was there... and to avoid trouble I got out of there.

So thats my story. I've got several pictures from the night. The ones of the penthouse aren't very clear, but you can still see tons of activity. I've got to hit the sack, but I'll upload the pics as soon as I can!

this is my first post. i had been looking over this board as well as a few others and when i learned i would be in chicago during some of the filming of tdk, i knew i would have to try to check it out. i just got back from hotel 71 and it couldn't have gone better...
we got there at about 1:15am or so. my gf and i walked around the area and saw that everybody was on a lunch break. we found a bench pretty close to the main entrance. the production crew was everywhere!! there was a swat guy standing out front smoking with some of the crew. from around the corner comes a athletic looking guy wearing a blazer. as he got closer, i realized that it must have been a batman stuntdouble. it was obvious that he had the suit on under his clothes. a few minutes later, i heard one of the people by the entrance call over the radio "everyone, please return to set". little did i know what was about to happen. the very first person that came around the corner first was chris nolan, himself. he strolled past us and headed in to the hotel. a few minutes later, about 20 swat guys came around in full uniform. a few minutes after that, a van pulled up and out come a couple more swat guys along with gary oldman. they all walked in to the entrance very calmly and ready to work. my gf and i thought we had seen it all but we were wayyyy wrong. a couple minutes later, an suv pulled up, the passenger door opened and out steps batman, himself, christian bale. he was wearing black cargo pants and a keysi fighting method shirt. the coolest part was as he walked in to the hotel, you could totally see part of his cape coming untucked from his pants..
we didn't take pictures because we didn't want to draw attention to ourselves but it was an awesome night. now, if only we can get a peak at one of the tumblers before we leave on sunday..

Precisely. Riddler's too small of a name for people to identify his alias.

And it's interesting to see that Nolan seems to be bringing out all the famous villains simultaneously in his films. I'd have preferred if they roll 'em out 2 at a time at most, it leaves for more opportunities for the individual villains to shine.

That's what they did last time, and it sucked. It always seemed so cheesy, the way 2 villains would come, take their turn, then be defeated. Then next time the same thing, two more come, die/go to jail, and then it's the next 2's turn. It's like Mr. Freeze would just sit their waitning for Two-Face and Riddler to finish their turn so he and Ivy could go.

I like the way Nolan's doing it. Bring them out when the story calls for it, and that's it. It doesn't have to be 2 main villains who team up and share equal screen time, then wait for the next 2 to show up. I love that Screcrow's coming back, and that their taking a whole movie to develop Dent before he becomes Two-Face, and that other villains may end up having their own small roles. It's awesome.

Very nice work people. I wonder what the SWAT teams and Gordon would be doing there? Maybe they come in after Joker's arrival.

I missed this part of the BOF report Superkong posted:

Friday brought Christian Bale to the Gotham National Bank for a scene with Lt. Gordon. [Christian was in the] Bat suit and even the Bat-RV was there -- the mobile fridge that is used to keep Mr. Bale Cool between takes.

Other things shot that day brought lots of SWAT extras Gotham Police and forensics teams and the press corps.

Gary Oldman shot several scenes both inside [and outside ]the “bank.” [The latter] was a very quick scene at dusk -- set up took longer than the actual filming of the scene.

If Batman was there doesn't this mean it's not the same robbery mentioned in Begins? Possibly Gordon got Batman on the case very quickly, but that leaves no gap at all between films 1 and 2

i just cme from wathcing Die hard 4.0. It rocked ass.

But all the citizens and panic, and all that stuff in the first 1/3rd of the film, I doubt Nolans Gotham evacuation and panic scenes will beat what was shown in Die hard.

Not seen it yet, I've heard its more like a decent action film with John McClane in it rather than a Die Hard film. They're supposed to be small, not McClane saves the country. I don't think they're going for a city destruction thing in TDK anyway, just the threat of terrorism. I could do without another cliche ending

itsthebatman
07-07-2007, 09:27 AM
Isn't the ending going to SUBVERT that? Joker makes them think it's a plot to destroy Gotham, lures them onto the boats, and then executes his real plan.

07-07-2007, 09:32 AM
Yup yup. Sounds like there'll be a bit of destruction, that mall is probably him. He'll probably announce his ruse on TV, a give me Batman or everyone dies kind of thing, possibly. But just part of his game.

Actually that sounds kind of Die Hard 3ish, misdirect the cops with a bomb threat while playing a game with the protagonist as a bonus, keeping attention away from the final (boat explosion) plan.

I'm not referring to team-ups.

What I meant is the number of villains being introduced, not necessarily featured. For example, if the Riddler and Two-Face rumor is true, then that'll be around four new villains being brought into the fray. That's way more than any other comic book movie.

I understand what you mean. And if that's indeed the direction Nolan is going, I'm fine with it. They don't need to heavily devote time for every villain. Their roles are most likely small but very functional to the overall narrative. It's in the manner how these characters are used in the story which is important.

Very likely.

Which is why, I wouldn't be too concerned of many villains as long as they contribute to the single base narrative. In the case of Spiderman 3, it was handled poorly since the three villains have separate storylines to tell and they ended up competing for focus in the entire running time of the film. I don't think this would happen in TDK.

What if Flass is the mob mole instead of Vernon who slips Maroni the acid? He was helping Falcone in BB and i heard somewhere that in TDK, Maroni is taking over the Falcone family's business, so Flass would be the perfect contender to do all of this without explaining another character like Vernon. This would give Dent the perfect motivation to kill Flass.

Holy s***, this just makes too much sense to not be true...

Of course, i'm sure that this has probably been mentioned tons of times already...

We know nothing, I was assuming everyone in the gas attack was a vegetable, but Scarecrow seems pretty lucid. Although Gordon probably gave him the antidote anyway. He could be the sadistic cop from the sides even

Maybe it continues the Y1 story with him spilling to Dent about Falcone/Maroni, and Loeb even. This Flass doesn't seem particularly violent, just a greedy slob

smatt584
07-07-2007, 05:24 PM
But he would only fill Vernon's role in TLH by being a mob mole and giving the acid to Maroni, he wouldn't do the dirty work himself, pure cowardice...perfect Flass.

That's just brilliant, and it works on every level.

Maroni ties through previous Falcone ties.
Clearly greedy as ****.
Would have the ability to move through the courthouse/prison to get Maroni the acid. Could even mole his way into being his escort.
Perfectly fits the role of the cop in the sides who's in the bar.
Fits the profile of "cop in bar" who gets offed by two-face.

Just perfect.

Yeah, all the sides listed which roles were being cast, and that one only listed the Bartender. The detective in that side is either already cast, or is being cast by means other than the sides. Probably Flass.

Hey Sas, I was actually the 24th floor of the Hard Rock Hotel. I just got lucky. The elevator only went up to 22, I took the stairs to 24 and the door happened to be unlocked because crew from TDK had set up spotlights on that floor because it has an outdoor balcony they could put the spotlights on. The floor was being 'gutted' and tons of constuction was happening, but we were LITERALLY straight across from the 39th floor of Hotel 71 where they were shooting the penthouse scene. Sorry for the lack of pics guys I'm just now uploading them. They will come slow, but here is a look at the 38th floor of Hotel 71.

No, that's the Penthouse party. Tons of people dressed in black suits/dresses. 3 cameras inside, lots of commotion. They backlit the buildings behind as well so you could see them from behind. I had binoculars with me, and could see much better. Unfortunately the zoom on my camera isnt too stong, so that last picture didnt come out too well. And yes, there were SWAT members all over. I believe they were shooting two scenes that night. The GCPD rooftop, and the penthouse party.

Here's some of the lights they used to back light the building behind the hotel...

Ah, so not SWAT members in the party scene? The GCPD Signal rooftop is at the garage on Randolph, unless they're doing bits of that elsewhere too. If Bale is there in Batman costume with Oldman I guess that's it, did you see any of that scene?

It had to be for something else then. There was a scene taking place inside that penthouse room I know FOR SURE. It had to be the penthouse party. Why the SWAT was there I have no idea. In the report I read before I left for the hotel, it said they were shooting a penthouse scene, and then on an adjoining rooftop there would be a scene with Christian Bale as Batman with Gary Oldman and the GCPD SWAT.

More Bat-Hunting

On the way back from Harry's place, since it was on the way, I drove through the loop, keeping my eye out for Bat-filming.

There was little activity in the actor's trailers, and the parking structure featuring the GCPD roof set seemed completely abandoned. I turned to drive back home, but as I turned on to Michigan, I noticed a Chicago Police car parked sideways in the middle of the road, with its siren lights silently flashing. What made this car interesting was the tag sticking up off the top of it, labeling it as "FILM 1."

The officer in the car had fallen asleep, his head back and against the window, his eyes closed, and his mouth wide open. Hilarious. I guess he was just there for guard duty.

Beyond his car, on Michigan, was this giant semi-truck dealie with a HUGE crane (several stories tall). At the top was a giant, 3 x 6 array of intense lights, shining down.

I looked around quickly, and noticed what appeared to be a zip line hanging from the side of one building (facing the lake), maybe about two dozen stories high up. The line came down to the second story, onto a platform.

There weren't any other massive lights around, and the zip line came to a spot very close to the spotlight truck here. So I can only assume the line was meant for filming - either a body gets thrown out of the building, or Batman comes swooping down.

I circled around once more, and noticed a large number of white semi trucks and trailers parked on the sides of some roads. They were identical to the ones that were at the GCPD set a few weeks back - apparently, they had abandoned that set and moved most of the equipment and trucks further north and east.

I found a parking spot and wandered around. I stumbled across an alleyway, with tables filled with snacks and food. There was only one guy there, a security guard, getting some food. He didn't seem to care that I was around.

Some cryptic arrows could be found, leading to what I believe was Bruce Wayne's penthouse. It was a narrow building - it looked exactly like a mini-skyscraper, built just for Bruce Wayne. Of course, I could be wrong. I went up to it, and looked inside, but nothing was happening.

I'm a bit upset at reports that Bruce Wayne will be living in the city for this movie. Wayne Manor is like a character in the Batman mythology - it's just as important, and cool, as the batcave. Here's hoping that it'll be repaired by the time the third film comes out.

By this time, it was quite late. The sun was coming up soon, so I headed out. The crew were leaving too - trailers were being packed up, and the massive spotlight truck had driven away (the cop was still asleep in his car, though).

I didn't see nearly as much as last time (http://frakkingoff.blogspot.com/2007/06/bat-hunting.html), but that's the way this kind of detective work goes - some nights are more successful than others.

There will be some crazy stuff being shot later on, in the next few weeks, though, so there's still plenty of good stuff to see.

I can't tell you how excited I am for this movie.

No problem guys. I enjoyed every minute of it. I loved acting like a detective trying to piece every piece of evidence together. Neat stuff. I'm just sorry I wasn't armed with a better zoom on my camera, because with my binoculars I could see PERFECTLY into that penthouse room on the 39th floor of the hotel. I was so disappointed when the pictures didn't come out like I'd hoped. I kept messing with the settings on my camera, but none of them seemed to work well.

This was a picture of our location from a nearby hotel that I stumbled upon that gave me the PERFECT view of the action. I hesitated to post it because it didn't come out well, and my friend pictured here didn't feel comfortable being pictured over the internet, but they agreed to be blacked out, for the sake of the location. The camera flash on the picture literally light up the sky, and since we were directly behind them, the obviously saw, so we jetted. I'm sure they have this area on lock down now, they just forgot about it the night we were there.

When I was there shooting started at 8:30 so I showed up at 8, Christian got there about 8:20 and Gary got there at 8:26, but just find out when there shooting and go 30 min before!

Got one of those battery-powered remote-control helicopters at Sharper Image, and duct-taped a webcam to it. Here's a shot of the penthouse set in daylight, prior to filming:

http://img364.imageshack.us/img364/9720/batman7307es0.jpg

There's a big bed at the opposite end of the room right under the "71", and what looks like a living room set in the close corner under the "1".

Saturday night they were filming on the rooftop balcony on the same level. Batman was there in full regalia, along with 4 SWAT team members and Commissioner (yet?) Gordon. Several scenes of Batman talking with Gordon and then looking over the edge in the direction the SWAT team was facing, and other scenes of Gordon by the ledge. The bat signal was there earlier in the evening.

http://img394.imageshack.us/img394/7527/batman7707ot2.jpg

Since these were mostly close-up scenes, had to assume that Batman was Christian Bale. With the darkness, the photo's a little less crisp, but that's Batman standing up on the left corner railing (you'll have to take my word for it), with a couple guys crouching down behind the railing making sure they don't lose the star if a sharp gust of wind comes along (it was a calm, beautiful night). You can also see three of the SWAT team guys along the railing.

http://www.batman-on-film.com/TDK_Chicago2_shoot-report_7-8-07.html

The following is a "spoiler-free" report of TDK shoot in Chicago on July 8, 2007 from "TJ and Sarah."

After an extended fourth of July vacation, today was the day that I would have to pick my girlfriend up and bring her back to Chicago. Upon picking her up and getting settled into the car the first thing she says to me is: "We need to go find more Batman stuff!"

Since shooting began we have been fairly “hardcore” followers of the constant filming in the downtown area. We were there when they had the Batmobiles at the parking garage on Franklin and Randolph.

I was smart enough at the time to go up on a parking garage about a half a block north-west of the place and from there we saw some pretty awesome stuff. One day I had my binoculars with me and we were able to see some action inside the top level of the parking garage. From what I saw there was someone dressed in the Batsuit and he was running across the inner garage area, then he came upon what looked to be Maggie [SPOILER DELETION] Batman then pulled [SPOILER DELETION] and that ended the scene.

Now I don't know what else was going on but from a binocular view I was able to catch a glimpse of: Batman and a Batman Stunt Double, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Heath Ledger, and Aaron Eckhart. Anyway this and much more all happened weeks ago (along with my car getting towed after seeing Gary Oldman at the Gotham City Bank) and I'm getting off track on what happened TODAY.

So my girlfriend was telling me that they were filming Bruce's Penthouse at XXX Wacker, so later in the evening we finally decided to drive on over and see if anything was going down. As I was driving east along Wacker I saw there was a huge light truck set up on the corner of Wabash and Wacker-- I knew they couldn't be far away. We found a legal parking spot and decided to head on over, upon arriving at the corner we found that they were filming just about half a block east of the Seventeenth Church of Christ. As we walked east down Wacker we saw the usual suspects: Christopher Nolan and crew working in the vicinity, then we briefly spotted Gary Oldman once again! It wasn't long that he was off and I was told by a few spectators that they filmed a car scene in which a GPD car came west down Wacker and stopped at a tower one plot east of the church and there Gary and Maggie (supposedly) got out and went inside.

We were a bit bummed out that we JUST missed Maggie but we figured we'd stick around as they were still busy filming. After about and hour and a half to two hours the only thing that happened was a GPD car was sitting outside the tower, an officer got into the vehicle and closed his door.....BORNING. But still enjoyable to “hardcore” followers such as us. After they started packing up we decided it was time to head home, it was getting rather late and we were told that they were done for the night -- not that I ever believe 100% what they tell me.

So me and my girlfriend decided we should at least go to XXX Wacker as it was originally the plan, we hop into my car and head on over. As we start to get closer we see that there is some MAJOR action going on in the area -- tons of Chicago Police cars and at the far end of Wacker, and way east, there was a big setup of huge lights and trailers and a huge crowd of people.

With newly kindled excitement we were SUPER lucky to find a legal parking spot just a hop, skip, and a jump from the blockade of squad cars. We start walking over and decide to cross Wacker (imagine four lanes of traffic separated by a pedestrian meridian), on the middle meridian there was a cop directing traffic. I walked over to him and asked him if it was alright if we walked down to the trailers and tons of people, he told me that we could try but most likely we would be stopped about halfway by security. He was nice enough to tell us that there was a possible chase scene going on tonight and that both sides of the street were closed, we were also lucky enough to hear on his radio that “someone” was ready in the tent.

Now even more excited we decided to try our luck and head over as close as we possibly could, we in fact got about halfway before we were stopped by the usual yellow-shirted security guys and they told us we would have to head back over by the corner of the hotel and watch from there. All I can say is I sure am glad that we got there when we did! A few moments after getting to the corner of the hotel we hear a loud engine ripping through the air. We look over to where it came from to find none other than...BATMAN! And he was driving the BATPOD! It was so awesome! I quickly grabbed my girlfriends camera and jumped up onto a ledge to get a perfect shot but was quickly flagged down by a gentleman telling me that no photography was allowed. UGH! Total bummer!

We waited there for a good two hours and were able to see a few practice runs of the Batpod along Wacker drive with none other than Batman (his stuntdouble I was told by the man who flagged me from using my camera) at the wheel...er..handlebars? In any case it was an amazing night and I'm grateful for all the crew, security, and local law enforcement that helped us along the way!

Hope you all enjoy this little bit, I'm really sorry that I can't provide any pictures, I had a perfect shot and wanted to take it so badly!

So, not only are more and more people telling me that Anthony Michael Hall is playing Edward Nygma in The Dark Knight, as we discussed before, I've now recieved a report of scenes filmed with Aaron Eckhart...

...in Two Face makeup. Yep - Two Face is in the Dark Knight too.

55/40. Scarring across the nose just a tad bit. One of his eye is deformed. And little bubbles across the scarring (They're manips that look similar). Wicked cool.

55/40? What's the remaining 5?

The scene may or may not have involved Two Face shooting Flass, the corrupt cop from Batman Begins. That's one person's version of events, and I'm okay with that.

Judging from the scenes that have been described, will anyone else be surprised if there's a love triangle going on between Bruce, Rachel, and Dent? Seems like a logical thing to do.

Remember the scene description where Rachel and Dent go to the ballet, only to see that it's been canceled because Bruce took the cast out on his yacht? What's the chances Bruce did that just to ruin Rachel and Dent's date, out of jealousy? It would be interesting to show his human side while he's trying to bring down the Joker.

Plus we have a penthouse scene between Bruce and Rachel. What could they possibly be talking about, hm? Further complicated by the fact that she knows he's Bats...

I'd be disappointed if Dent isn't married to Gilda. It'd make the audience sympathize with him a lot more and make his story that much more tragic.

would be great if he shoots him twice in the head, turns to the bartender. bartender mumbles "two shots in the head" and Dent says "if you ask me, it couldn't have happened to a nicer guy". that'd be a great scene to end the movie.

That would sound rediculous coming from the bartender.

I think if anything a simple "Two shots to the head, if you ask me, it couldn't have happened to a nicer guy" line needs to be delivered by two-face, either to the corpse, or to Batman/Gordon.

sglass03
07-09-2007, 07:10 PM
I actually like the Hangman idea, too.

Per that last report, it would make sense to me that, at some point, Harvey comes out and presents himself as Batman's real identity for the greater good (Bruce's penthouse party where Joker crashes would be a good scene to do this.)

Up to this point, I'm thinking Bruce and Harvey don't get along too well. Not only did Dent have a sort of coldness towards Batman at points in the comics, but I'd imagine there's probably some sort of tension re: Rachel. However, if Harvey pretends to be Batman, thus giving himself to the Joker, it endears him to Bruce, proving he's a "good" guy, willing to sacrifice, etc. Thus his accident in the end is all the more tragic.

It also makes sense in the context of some other popular comics. Gordon thought Dent was Batman (in "Year One," and it was also mentioned in TLH), and it appears that Joker is targeting Dent (i.e., "I Believe in Harvey Dent, Too"), perhaps because he also suspects him to be Batman. I think it all kind of fits in.

What I hate is not that Jett deletes spoilers, but that he leaves little remains of it. Couldn't he just delete any trace of it, so we don't know there's something he's not telling us. For example instead of "Joker kills XXXX" why not just leave out any mention of Joker killing anyone? Why tease us with spoilers you aren't going to tell us?

I've stopped trying to explain Jett's actions. While I love BOF, the guy has ceased making sense - he posts a report with obvious hints towards the Riddler (i.e., "mystery," "enigma") and yet you can't discuss it in the forums. He deleted a thread that Anjow started which basically repeated the info from that same report.

I guess I lost faith in the guy when, after a whole year of having the "inside scoop" and saying the Joker race was between Hulme and Bettany, Ledger gets cast and the story is reported by Latino Review (and Jett is nowhere to be found for a day.) So much for having a leg-up, Jett.

Well he's closed their Spoiler forum now because of me posting boatman's report. No idea why Batman on a rooftop is considered too much but the Harvey in the bar news isn't, that's a Ra's level spoiler. Going to be one dull forum over there now.

Anyone from Chicago planning to go to Hotel 71 tonight? Probably more Batpod stuff around Wacker

Obviously that was just a simple example. I'm just trying to point out that he teases us with spoilers, by hinting at them, but never saying.

A better example is the recent one in which a woman steps into a car and . That one annoyed me. I had to look for quite a while to find out what the spoiler was, and I only think I know what it is [SPOILER]the car explodes.

I just dont see the point in posting set reports when you remove anything of interest. Why post a report saying "I saw some cool stuff being filmed, but I cant tell you what. It was really cool though!"

It's a Mercedes that gets blown up by the Joker once a female judge gets into it
This thread is the best source on the internet IMO, it just moves too quickly. If the reports were copied and pasted into a blog it'd already be a more informative, timely and better designed asset than BOF has become. It wins by default sadly, could do with a bit of competition.

That would sound rediculous coming from the bartender.

I think if anything a simple "Two shots to the head, if you ask me, it couldn't have happened to a nicer guy" line needs to be delivered by two-face, either to the corpse, or to Batman/Gordon.

if you think about it, the entire line coming from TF would be a little hokey. he shoots a guy twice in the head then tells then says to whoever is there that he shot him twice ... in the head.

to Batman/Gordon would work. I could imagine them talking about the crime scene details before TF coming out from somewhere and pointing out the "two shots to the head". I'm sure if the Nolan's wanted to, they'd figure out a way to get that line in there and make it work.

Exactly.

And what the **** is Jett talking about here: One last thing...YES, I know about the TDK casting/role ID/Bat-Rouges rumors out there right now -- in fact, I've known the facts about for them for a while. If you need a reason why I haven't reported them -- in addition to the fact that BOF doesn't do flat-out spoilers such as those -- is that we have a "professional" reason not to do so, if you will. If you like spoilers, you've already read them elsewhere. If you are avoiding them, just be careful what TDK news you read on the Net.

Is he talking about AMH as The Riddler or something else? Why must he tease us with these half spoilers nonsense.

This has been mentioned before - but after he becomes Two-Face, I wholeheartedly believe Gordon and Batman (and the rest of Gotham) should still refer to him as Harvey (or "Dent.") The only person who should refer to the name "Two-Face" is Two-Face himself, further emphasizing that Harvey has two identities living inside of him - himself and this other monster.

A better example is the recent one in which a woman steps into a car and [SPOILER DELETED].

I was guessing that the spoiler was "sits down inside it, then closes the door".

I can understand blacking out text, but full out deleting words in the middle of a sentence ... why? I think his problem is that he's trying to please both the fans and keep himself in WBs good graces. You can't really do that. You can't have spoilers even blacked out if you want WB to be on your side.

Is there a reason why the SHH front page doesn't post any of the stuff in here? Have they got a spoiler policy or just don't they look? There's alot of stuff from other sources but also a load of unique reports that hardly anyone gets to see.

Crook
07-09-2007, 10:59 PM
It seems they rarely focus on rumors, for some strange reason. Back when this was Spider-Man Hype, every day there'd be a new rumor to report. Have no idea why they've changed to more of an official news site.

sglass03
07-09-2007, 11:03 PM
I think SHH posts "major" news - like pics of the actors or other stuff (the Tumbler, the suit, etc.), but not some of the reports going around, because honestly, they'd have something new to report every day. Just in the last day, we've learned about a scene with Bruce and Rachel in a penthouse, among some other scene details/pics. Does that really deserve a front-page story? I'm guessing they have to make an editorial decision and say "No."

Jett has confused me since a few months ago. I can understand keeping spoilers off the main page and allowing them in the forums in clearly-marked topics. But the forums were made spoiler-free a month or so ago, and Jett still reports some spoilers, but not others. I think he's genuinely confused about what to do.

Case in point, he says the site is trying to be "professional," but it's a fan-run site, and demand is high for spoilers and info right now. People clearly do not like the "XXX's," and his editing leaves the reports with nearly nothing in the information department besides "there's something going on at Wacker!" As of now, this thread right here is the best place for info on the film, not BOF.

kgramone
07-09-2007, 11:18 PM
I've been reading Jett's stuff for years (as I'm sure all of you have), and I think he feels a sense of entitlement or exclusion when he has information he feels he "can't" post. Yes, there is some motivation not to piss off WB, but I think mostly he just wants us all to know (or wrongly believe) that he's exclusively tight with WB. I think it boosts his ego, and that clouds his judgment regarding what he posts. He's human.

BOF is considered the top site on the Internet for Batman movie news because it has been around the longest; thus, more people are aware of it. I'll always appreciate it for that, because after the B&R travesty I honestly worried there would never be another Batman film. Jett gave me hope there would be, and if I ever meet him I will shake his hand and thank him for that. I just wonder if maybe Jett's time has passed since having another Batman film is no longer a crusade ... it's no longer up for speculation or debate. Batman is absolutely back as a movie vehicle, and that completely changes BOF's position. Jett just has to adjust, and so far one could argue that he hasn't.

One lurker's opinion ...

Not sure if this has shown up here yet (too lazy to check). Spoilers ahoy here people.

Guess Who Has Shown Up In Gotham Now

I've had most parts of this news corroborated by a few voices, so I'm happy to report it all in good faith. Be wary of spoilers from the very next sentence onwards.

So, not only are more and more people telling me that Anthony Michael Hall is playing Edward Nygma in The Dark Knight, as we discussed before, I've now recieved a report of scenes filmed with Aaron Eckhart...

...drumroll please...

...in Two Face makeup. Yep - Two Face is in the Dark Knight too.

Here's the description of the make-up:

Source: http://www.filmick.co.uk/2007/07/guess-who-has-shown-up-in-gotham-now.html

Mostly what we already know care of NoirMan. Interesting to see all this confirmed by another source though.filmick should be ignored. i could get more reliable information from a homeless person sleeping beneath an overpass. filmick is some kid with a blog who posts anything and everything he gets in emails. too bad his little thread of a video of some 12-year old kid's mouth was pulled from the forum. it was a funny attempt at being legit.
