Something I saw while reading a thread.
I heard that the Batpod is actually made from parts of the Tumbler that were left in the wreckage.

the wheels and how it looks doesnt make any sense on how it would "emerge" from the tumbler. it should just be another vehicle he needs to use when the tumbler blows up or whatever. i guess the batmissle worked ok, but again that's something we have already seen. this is going a bit far.

the wheels are too fat on the pod to match the tumbler. there were no arm guards from what we saw in BB. i am really hoping for the 'make it out of tumbler bits" idea.

It doesn't make much sense physically but it still makes more sense than the alternative. Several people have seen the special Tumbler and one person I talked to chatted with an FX guy. We know the Tumbler is in the same chase as the pod

I remember a news report stating that the “Bat-pod” was from the same family of vehicles as the tumbler. (Good morning America)
It stands to reason the Fox might continue to create prototypes to be used for the sole purpose to assist the Bruce. The new Bat-Armor has a slight motocross feel to it. He could have developed them to work together. Who knows how many designs Fox has that were never produced.
With Bruce in charge he has complete freedom to commission what ever he likes.

They're using the same exact model from BB though, no? Wasn't that the reason they saved it?
And it's not that people are saying it sucks, just that they don't see how, unless there have been some major changes to the vehicle (which for now, doesn't seem to be the case). But yeah, wait it out. I couldn't care less either way.

When Batman triggers the mechanism in the Tumbler that makes the seat shift and he assumes a laying down type position leads me to believe that is actually part of the Batpod. The cannons that Gordon shoots in BB may also be the vary cannons seen on the Batpod.
The tires of the Batpod also resemble the tires of the Tumbler.
...and its called the Batpod.
I have no idea how it'll emerge, but I'm sure CGI will make it technically plausible.
From the people that I've talked to in Chicago, the batpod emerges from the tumbler via special effects. The tumbler was wrecked in lower wacker during a late night of filming. One tumbler of the six is built with the batpod. I'm not sure if this means its able to come out but it was clear that the pod was in the tumbler. Also, they are building a 1/3 to scale replica of lower wacker in a studio for the more explosive visual effects.

Beginning Saturday, August 11 and continuing through Saturday, August 18, preparations for and filming of a feature film currently disguised as “Rory’s First Kiss” is scheduled at 330 North Wabash. The filming takes place in the lobby, thirteenth and third floors as well as the exterior south plaza. The actual filming dates are: Sunday, August 12 in the lobby (southwest side), Wednesday and Thursday, August 15 and 16 on the 13th floor, and Friday and Saturday, August 17 and 18 on the 3rd floor and exterior.

I dont think the tumbler has a spare tire there, I think it makes completely sense that it works with the 2 front tires of the tumbler, if you can check the picture of the axis in the tires of the tumbler and in the batpod are the same way, its one part union between the axis and the chasis, so does the tumbler, check some pictures and let me know what do you think

I can see how they can do it, if the tumbler is semi destroyed, you can use the 2 front wheels, each one by separate, if you figure out one turning 90 degrees one side and another in the other way it will look like the batpod and make sense, of course I dont think everything can be done like a transformer, for me it would need some time in the batcave.

Im a little worried personally about the BatPod "emerging" (geez i feel dirty) from the Tumbler. The two wheels of the Pod are the front two wheels of the Tumbler so just short of the Tumbler doing an Optimus Prime I dont know the logistics of this emerging scene.
I like the idea of Bruce putting together the Pod out of a broken Tumbler thus setting up Fox to create another car in the next film tee hee.

yep, I saw that one, is true what you say, but my point is that the tumbler is not involved in the chasing scenes recorded in the financial district of chicago, LaSalle st, so for me seem that those scenes are in different time in the movie, not in the following scene...
btw lucius (morgan freeman) is in town, so maybe they are gonna record part of that transformation, that I still thinking it cannot be possible during the chasing scene, it should come in some other moment in the movie, but thats my opinion

In my opinion, the only attachment the batpod has to the Tumbler is the steering mechanism and part of the cockpit. The wheels are hidden within the Tumblers chasis.

It took everyone this long to remember the sides where the cop seems to be releasing or interrogating the Joker. It seems that this is a false victory for them and probably just another scheme cooked up by the Joker to cause more problems. In fact, I bet Dent takes credit for the Joker's arrest and then has to take the heat of his escape. Also, the Batpod/Semi sequence obviously occurs in the middle of filming....

So is the big parade/funeral going down on the 24-26?
I believe so.
When they did a casting call for police officers awhile ago they were asked to work on the 26th to the 28th. The call also asked for bag-pipers and that they "want to make this scene look as real as they could"
The only time that police officers and bag-pipers come into together for something is when it is for a funeral or some kind of celebration.

Just an idea, with no basis whatsover....
But what if Joker is arrested, and then sprung from the police station by a surprise ally? Explosions, massacre, a bunch of cops die and Joker is on the loose again. Then he crashes the funeral because he just can;t help coming back for more. Comic villains don't usually do this kinda stuff, it would be pretty evil.

Orrr the funeral could be held for all the people who died in the Joker's breakout.
Orrr the funeral could be held for all the people who died in the Joker's breakout.
True, that could happen.
But most likely it will be a funeral of soem kind.
But here is my theory on who the funeral is for.
I think that it is for commisioner Loeb. The Gordon gets promoted to Comissioner for all of his good work with handling the Joker and everything.
I think it's Loeb too but I'm just spek-yuh-lay-tun.

Here's a theory on the Batpod.
We heard before that Batman would be escaping The Joker after Joker f'd with him real bad, causing him to abandon the Batmobile and dive into the river for safety, right? Well, back in Begins Lucius Fox said that "during combat, two of these would jump over a river, towing cables"? Then that means that a second one must've been made in order to test out the bridge (Fox: "we never could get the damn bridge to work...").
So what if Bruce goes to Fox, explaining what just happened, and incase it ever happens again, he'll need a way of escape. Fox would then take the 2nd Tumbler and modify that one to fit in an escape pod, which Batman is seen driving in the semi truck chase. What if the Tumbler that Batman was driving in part of that chase the 2nd one and not the original Tumbler at all?
Anyway, what do you think?

I like the Batpod theory.
As for the funeral scene, I have no idea. They may do it in a cemetery or in a church.
But if there are bag-pipers there then I think it will be held outside.

IF you read the one page article in Entertainment Weekly when they introduce the new suit, there was a description of each indivual part and how they function as a weapon for Batman.
The designer of the suit made a comment about the cape doing somthing "special" but wouldn't tell what it would be. So I'm guessing this cap may be the one that have some trick to it that the memmory cloth one did not.

This is off topic, but had to get it off my chest.
I don't understand why people want a more sporty, penis-looking batmobile! Let me paraphrase Nolan here: Back in the 30's and into the 60's cars never looked like how the batmobile was represented; It was sleek, had fins, and looked down right unusual. That sleek look was great for that time. The batmobile was always meant to be this unusual, scary looking, but still cool machine. However, in todays world, a sporty, sleek car isn't unique; every damn car today is sporty and sleek! So, to make the batmobile extraordinary in today's terms (2007) it makes sense that the batmobile would be a military prototype, and adopt a more juggernaut, armored look. Hint, hint: all batman's gear, including the costume, is connected to military prototypes. Nolan is a man with brains. He's logical...so sit back and relax-and let the man do his job.

When you run around with your camcorders and cell phones trying to get vids and pics, the crew people probably look at yall, and think, "These guys are such losers! They need to get a life!" I believe they have switched to day shoots now. And are supposed to be over at the Old Post Office for some interior stuff. Might make it hard to catch stuff.
Also....
"Beginning Saturday, August 11 and continuing through Saturday, August 18, preparations for and filming of a feature film currently disguised as Rorys First Kiss is scheduled at 330 North Wabash. The filming takes place in the lobby, thirteenth and third floors as well as the exterior south plaza. The actual filming dates are: Sunday, August 12 in the lobby (southwest side), Wednesday and Thursday, August 15 and 16 on the 13th floor, and Friday and Saturday, August 17 and 18 on the 3rd floor and exterior."
Hope that helps.... :yay:

The actual filming dates are: Sunday, August 12 in the lobby (southwest side), Wednesday and Thursday, August 15 and 16 on the 13th floor, and Friday and Saturday, August 17 and 18 on the 3rd floor and exterior."
Hope that helps.... :yay:

batpod emerging scene will be a mess. from the looks of both vehicles, it doesnt fit. someone post a side by side photo so we can debate this further.
How can you say the scene will be a mess? You have no idea how this will happen yet, or even if it will happen that way. There very well may be CGI extensions involved etc. Any number of factors are undetermined here and you are jumping to ridiculous conclusions. Let's remember, this is Nolan directing, not Joel Schumacher or Brett Ratner.

Friday and Saturday, August 17 and 18 on the 3rd floor and exterior.I hope the noise from the air & water show wont be a problem for filming. The actual show is on Sunday the 19th, but the jets always practice the few days before.

Chitownballer, there's no reason to get your panties in a bunch. That's just his opinion. I always say the people who take offense like in this case you, are the ones guilty of knowing they are what he labled you. Also, if you want people to take you and your opinion seriously, don't be childish and start of your comment with 8yr old name calling.
Not always, if someone has been insulting (like this punter here), it's possible to get offended without it meaning you secretly think he's right. I'm not hanging round the set (being on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean and all) but still got pissed off when I read petagassi's original post, just smouldering with self-righteousness, he can go take a long walk off a short pier.

Does anyone know an approximate time that the shots at 330 N Wabash will be filmed at? I know they're interior shots but I would like to hang around just in case. Also, are there any locations where they have stored stuff for a later scene (such as tumblers, bat pods, gotham city signs, etc)? My kids are 6 and 9 and I would love to be able to show them a little piece of this movie.

Alright everybody, here is the score:
Went by the Old Post Office and it is certainly buzzing with activity. There are trucks going in and out and a lot of people milling around outside. With that being said, filming is definitely happening inside so there is not much to see unfortunately. All of the actors trailers have been moved down to the end of serivice road underneath the bridge. Also, there are big air conditioning units outside that are pumping air into several upper floor areas. My guess is that is where they are filming.
Sorry, not too exciting.

They still have the "Gotham Police Department" sign outside of the Old Post Office. Might be cool for the kids to see. They did have the tumblers stored under Wacker but I don't know if they have moved. Even if you get close enough to see the trailers on to see the names on the trailers, they have fake names on the trailers for the actors.
Liek on one of the trailers they have the name "Jean Peirre"

They filmed a party scene at the penthouse set a few buildings down the road from that hotel. Didn't you say there were party guests during that interior scene there or something? Yes. I assume this will just be one scene meshed together. Or they are using a couple locations for the penthouse and they will mesh them together with the magic of movies. Then I assume the SWAT/Batman stuff outside of the Hotel will be used for something different.

The second would be last week when a friend and I ran against a light and Heath's SUV had to slow down to keep from hitting us. He pointed a white finger out the window to scold us and shook his head, smiling (with his own teeth). Yea getting scolded by the Joker was pretty ****ing rad.

It was white, his entire hand, down to the wrist where his sleeve hit was white and I have seen a lot of pics of Heath and this was not his skin colour.

I have to admit I didn't know it was something that was being heavily discussed since I'm not around here much. If I had known, I would have written about my encounter sooner. I'm sorry. :csad:

Lol, well if you think about, if we were speculating that the flesh-toned make-up was possibly put on the wrists....who's to say that can't apply for white?

Phoenixfaith is reliable. She has posted up pics of her with Nolan and Eckhart, so we know she is actually out there, and around the set and actors.

Thank you. A lot.
Please go on: what was he wearing, did his makeup cover his whole face and neck, was his hair green etc?
Your patience is appreciated. The fullness and honesty of your answers are of paramount importance!

We forgive you  Have you written anything much about last week, sounds like a good one. The Fox clip of Joker getting out of the car with arguably white hands and neck was taken last Thursday I think
