Thank you. A lot.
Please go on: what was he wearing, did his makeup cover his whole face and neck, was his hair green etc?
Your patience is appreciated. The fullness and honesty of your answers are of paramount importance!
I did not see his neck. I was by the passenger side window where he was sitting when I ran out into traffic and his hair (yes very green) was covering his neck. He put a finger up to the window and I could see it was white, as was his hand and wrist. His make up appeared to be covering his entire face, it was very, very white and he was smiling at us, as if to say 'naughty, naughty girls.'
That's really all I saw. Sorry I can't be of more help. :csad:

Curious, have you seen the "bubbling" on the side of one of his lips? That's something I've only seen in the officially released pics, but haven't in any of the set pics or videos (granted, they're crap quality).
It looks to me like both sides are gruesome gashes. But the official pics say otherwise.

You walked up the stairwell to the 39th floor? Wow. Did you actually see the set up there? What did it look like.
I was able to get to 38 and see the boarded up hallyway, but with tight security I couldn't get any father.
yeah man, I got up there because like I said, the lady wasnt even there. So my dad and I get up there and we look around, there is a desk marked with police do not cross things. Then there is a living room type thing, then a huge deck where i guess they were filming, thats where all the eqiupment was.
Before I could see more, the hotel manage was showing his buddy around and came up to my dad and I and asked for out badges, well he told us to leave and the heard of security asked how we got in. Well the manager yelled at the lady who was eating and after he left she let us take pics :yay:.
but yea, my dad hit his head on one of the set pieces and they were really worried we were going to sue lol

This is pretty common for casting agencies to do actually. They can't use the same people over and over, and anyone that is actually signed to an agency would cost much more because they probably belong to a union. Unrepresented extras are cheaper.

How the hell has everyone been? TYPO how are you man?
Well I decided to be active and go down to Chicago, as I will again this Sunday and it will most likley be for nothing if it is all interior.
I skwandered the day away from 2pm till 8pm due to thinking that the filming would be down on and near lasalle street, I was wrong. I decided to go to lollapalooza and see Pearl Jam to kill some more time. Going back down to Lasalle to see nothing again. I then decided to go to the post office and see what was up. Just as I got there they were done filming, it would have been for nothing anyway due to it being all interior shots. The only thing I did see at 11pm was Heath Ledger getting into his transportation in just regular clothes. Maybe it was not him but it was a very tall thin man with long shaggy blonde hair getting to a van with presidential tint. There were only a couple of vans and they were there only to pick people up and take them to wherever.
My friend worls for ABX or whatever the security company is that sits at the gate at the post office. We thought maybe she could use her badge and get in there, but she wouldn't know what to look for and would most likley not last long and then eventually lose her job with the company back here in Indy.
Anyway, if anyone knows what is going on for Sunday and at what times then I will be there early to hang out and meet any cast members since seeing actual filming that day seems to be impossible.
Where the hell is 'snipe and Clerk and Two-Face and all the other TYPO?

In terms of functionality, I agree.
I thought it looked terrible though. Didn't mesh well with the rubber suit, it's difference in color just made it look tacked on. Not to mention it looked like a tablecloth you left in the attic for too long. :o
that was the best about its design. the color was flat and non reflective that cape is most definately reflecting light which makes absolutely not sense.

Anything being flat-looking on film, is never good. In terms of cinematography, objects still need to reflect light, to create an image of sorts. Otherwise...you don't really see anything. Especially with Batman who's under very low lighting sources.
Now I'm not asking that entire suit to be like a mirror, and being completely visible at any lighting. Just enough so everything blends well within the environment. It's hard to explain in words, but look at the several pictures of Batman in the comics, and you'll get an idea of what I mean hopefully.

So my mom calls me at ten in the morning and I'm laying in bed (my phone's on vibrate) and I'm thinkin', "No way in hell am I going to answer, she probably wants me to clean the house or something." Turns out, when I finally pick up the phone around eleven, she's managed to get me a pass to get on the set of Batman because they're shooting some scenes at the convention center she works at. O_o
Long story short, IT WAS AWESOME. I talked to Morgan Freeman's body double and was actually standing about two feet away from the actual Morgan Freeman + Christian Bale. They reshot the same scene (it's the scene where Christian & Morgan walk out of the elevator) so many times from every angle imaginable. It was so unreal to experience something like that.
Hmm, where would that be?

Are you saying if they use CGI to make it appear as though the batpod is emerging from the Tumbler, it would be fantasy?
I think it's plausible they could actually make a Tumbler that has a batpod actually emerge from it. Probably won't happen.

I completely understand what you are saying and yes it should reflect some light, but didnt they go to the british military to get some stealth fabric to make the original cape for BB. That is what I am referencing that it had a very non shiny surface and didn't have a leathery or plasticy feel to it like the batman 89 or superman returns cape did.

They could be, but there is too much activity over at the post office for that to be the case, I think anyway.
Here is the latest from Batman-On-Film:
Thursday, August 9, 2007
"A.P." sent BOF a report of what is shooting this weekend -- NO SPOILERS:
"Stuff at 'Wayne Enterprises' between Bruce/Batman and Lucius Fox...
Gordon, Ramirez, and GPD SWAT inside and outside 'Gotham National Bank'...
And Dent will be holding a 'press conference.'"
"A.P." says that we should be leery of some of the info reported by LATINO REVIEW (http://latinoreview.com/news.php?id=2616) on 8/9/07.
Looks, like I will have to keep a close watch on the Post Office.

Okay, so I've been super busy/not lurking around here for a while. But here is a (really bad) video of some filming: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yVf8eABPQIg. Also, I have some pics up on Picasa--we stumbled upon the very unguarded Jokermobile and a Gotham PD truck: http://picasaweb.google.com/eludemann/TheDarkKnight. This was all the night of the truck flip (which we didn't see, sadly, but saw remnants of). Anywho, hopefully I'll be able to see some more cool things before they're done.

Where's the hounds?!!!!
Where are they filming? I thought they were done for a while since in the first half of this week, the Franklin Trailer park was practically empty (place where typo got oldman pic). Then today, I walked out of work and see all the trailers back and some crew members are roaming around the trailers. The fridge trailer is back too. I walk over to the post office and didn't see anything. Nothing in Lasalle either. Everything happened in the day?

i hear ya on that, but those are framed pics, on a stage, usually you only see framed pics and people in suits for a memorial, i know dent doesn't die but whos to say they don't fake it for some reason. like in The long halloween but not exactly for the same reason.
Usually people of the press that are at a press conference are dressed a little bit nicer than a pair of jeans and a t-shirt.

The cinematographer maybe? I could have sworn I read somewhere Nolan shoots everything, including the stuff usually left for the 2nd unit director somewhere else as well.It looks to me like someone giving directions in order to set up the shot. For all we know, it could even be a stunt coordinator giving people positions for a stunt we don't know about happening during this scene. I'd assume that if it wasn't Nolan himself giving those directions, it would be the cinematographer, but I may be wrong. It's definitely not a PA though. Like you said, PAs are pretty much bottom of the barrel in the film industry. Typically they aren't even paid. Often times its nothing more than volunteer work done by people trying to move up. At any rate, they are definitely on the crew, and not a part of the scene.

dark_b was correct, there is no second unit director. There's just a confusion of terminology here...it was most likely the First AD, possibly the Second AD. It may have even been a PA, PAs do more than you're giving them credit for, especially on a huge production they are sometimes given instructions by the First AD to give instructions to a crowd of people, a group of actors, etc.

I doubt they're needed anymore, the chase filming is over. Maybe at their base near WGN studios. Hopefully we see them again in 3 :csad:

Alright ladies and gents.... here is the deal: I just went by the Old PO and there is A LOT of activity. More trucks than yesterday and there is a lot of crew hanging around. Two of the doors were open and I could see a bunch of people inside chowing down. I also saw the set photographer walk into the building so they have got to be shooting there today. whether it will be exterior I not, I can't really tell. Though they have not dressed the outside, so it must be going down inside.
I am going to head back over between 5 and 6 to see if anything has changed.
Sorry ChicageauxTiger, no pics. There wasn't really anything exicting happening....

I discovered this today. On the otherside of the PO there is a giant garage. It was open and I saw many of the vehicles being used for the film. I think that may be the new storage location.

That confirms it. Two-Face will be a man back from the dead.
Maybe everybody thinks Harvey actually died? Maybe Gordon and other Gotham officials are claiming he's dead so the public doesn't find out about what really happened to him?
Time will tell...

I went to the Post Office yesterday, around midday, and nothing was happening. There seemed to be activity inside, but there wasn't even an indication of filming on the exterior (no filming trucks or anything) besides "no parking" signs that were labeled from 4AM to 7PM (I forgot the actual dates listed).

As I drove back home towards Indiana I went past the opposite side of the post office, there is a door sometimes open and their are deffinitly things being stored in there. The post office is their main HQ according to signs.

Tonight (Saturday 7:30pm) I walked past the 330 Wabash Building where there's reports that filming will begin on Sunday. Well, there are indeed craploads of equipment trailers and light/camera cranes and cables rolled up awaiting to be used all around the building and nearby streets.
Also, inside I could see through the glass windows of the 330 Wabash Building where there's already a set up of black fold-up chairs in front of a podium. The round seal on the podium read "Gotham District Court" and "Gotham City."
Since there's word of some day shooting, I'm hoping to see some cool stuff tomorrow. :word:

I just figured since WW is done for tonight (which means actors and director can get back to work) and also the latest "street closure" sheet has NO PARKING ZONES starting tonight at 10PM ... perhaps there might be some filming tonight.
Also, there are TONS of Yellow Security out there around 330 Wabash. They could be just guarding the trailers and stuff but maybe they're there for more action. :word:

Hey Sasquatch ...
I see that your signature says "Filming Saturday Daytime: Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago"
Does that mean they're filming in 2 locations at once tomorrow or have you not updated it yet for Sunday filming? Because the Federal Reserve bank is in the Loop where as 330 Wabash is north of the River.
Just want to make sure I don't waste time going to the wrong area to gawk tomorrow.

Haven't updated. I'd definitely go to Wacker & Wabash. No-ones actually described filming at the Federal Bank, but I assume they did it today, and that its the scene with Oldman BOF mentioned the other day. Might be worth swinging around to the bank if nothings going on elsewhere.

Not so sure about that. I got a co-worker's granddaughter into a shoot coming up later this month, and they had to wait until she was 18 to use her. She turned 18 last month. They would have used her then but couldn't.

i walked by the 330 N Wabash building last night and saw all the chairs setup as well. I also think I saw the batpod inside of the building. It was something with a motorcycle-like shape covered in a tarp.
Earlier today I went out to the set again and they had just finished filming before a break? I was able to get pretty close and saw Aaron Eckhart eating at one of the catered tables. As he was walking back to the set we tried asking if he would take a picture with us but he declined saying he wasnt allowed to since he was in costume (suit). He was pretty polite and seemed like a real nice guy.

Just got back from todays filming. They had several different vehicles out there (GPD, Gotham News Vans, Military vehicles, Bomb Squad truck, etc.) which was cool to see. But best of all, I was lucky enough to be 10 feet from Christopher Nolan, Aaron Eckhart and Mr. Bruce Wayne himself ... Christian Bale! :word: They were filming Press Conference stuff earlier in the day, broke for lunch around 1:00-ish and then filmed some more Press Conference stuff.
Then they brought in some Army-type guys along with camouflaged hummers and trucks with machine-gunners for the Helicopter flyby filming. They closed down a ****LOAD of areas for this, not allowing anyone in the area. The choppers came pretty low as they passed over the courtyard outside of 330 Wabash where military and press people were all around.
I have some pics that I'll upload ... nothing fantastic but hey, that's what this thread's for, right?

No, it was all inside the lobby of 330 Wabash so nobody can hear squat.
Basically, they kept filming a scene where Harvey Dent comes up to the podium with tons of flashbulbs going off. He's talking about something, using some hand gestures. It looked like somebody in the seats might have said something (Bruce Wayne?) because attention appears to focus that way at one point. Then the cops at the Press Conference look like they applaud heavily at something. Then Harvey says some more, begins to walk off stage when I Policeman comes up to him before he steps down ... that's it.
