A previous report stated that The Joker pushes two SWAT police officers off the roof of a building right? Does this event take place in the same scene... because if it does, I could see it going something like this...

After the 21 gun assassination, the police are about to apprehend The Joker's men, when they get an announcement from above, telling them to let the goons go or the two SWAT officers get it. Then the goons pile into an SUV, and The Joker kills the officers anyway.

This reminds me a lot of the scene in Batman 89 when there is some type of public gathering. Nicholson's Joker asassinates somebody...not sure if it's the mayor. Sounds and looks pretty similar.

i don't think so. the joker was part of the group right next to the podium that shoots at the mayor. after the shots are fired, tons of cops and mounted police swarm the shooters.

i can't remember if i saw this or not. however, i definitely do remember seeing some of the shooter group get swarmed by cops and taken down to the ground. also right before they did the take, they were practicing the scuffle they were going to get in to on a mat.

Man, this is a pretty wicked way to view the Brach's site (http://maps.live.com/default.aspx?v=2&cp=qzfdyz7pncgq&style=o&lvl=1&tilt=-90&dir=0&alt=-1000&scene=11383493&encType=1). If you look to the east, it appears there's an industrial park. I suppose it's too much to ask that people would be allowed to watch the detonation from there.

EDIT: If you look just to the south, you can see just how close the Cicero El platform is to the action.

That's what concerns me. In addition to the pyrotechnics, this is supposed to be a full fledged implosion. Any other implosions I know of, police and fire have cleared people out of a several block radius.

Not sure why anyone would be using a flash outdoors in broad daylight. Sunday night when they were filming the helicopter/SWAT fall sequence, they asked people not to take flash photos because it would ruin the shot. Then of course, they attempted to flat out kick everyone out of the area entirely. The funniest part of this is a.) how can it be a major city if the streets are totally devoid of people and b.) for the people walking their dogs and going about their errands, they had to listen to PA's screaming at them to keep walking and not to stop and watch the action...like people in real life wouldn't stop and stare at a helicopter hovering right next to a high rise.

Eh, I'm not sure. Ledger doesn't strike me as the type of actor that would HAVE a cell phone on set, let alone use it or answer it.

I actually really hope that, for this police funeral scene, there IS no Batman. It would be really interesting to see the likes of Gordon and Dent forced into playing the role of the hero, trying to find The Joker in the crowds.

Nolan is going to have to be very careful if batman appears in the daylight, could look very silly. I'm of the burton school obviously, I like the idea that batman remains in the shadows and leads a vampire-like life.
It makes more sense that Dent and Gordon do the daytime shift like the fella above mentions.

On saturday he did not march but he was in line at the stage. Being about 20 feet away and the make up looked great. HL was the third from the left. His goon (Dave Dastmalchian) was to the right of him.

'Batman' stuntmen jump into lake

WAUKEGAN -- In August 2004, chase scenes for "Batman Begins" were filmed on the Amstutz Expressway. In August 2007, Batman has returned -- or, at least, his stuntmen.

City officials confirmed Tuesday that a stunt crew for the next installment in the "Batman" saga, "The Dark Knight," has been rehearsing parachute jumps this week off the city's Municipal Beach.

The Lake County Sheriff's Office Marine Unit, which is monitoring the activity, reported that jumps were taking place Tuesday morning and afternoon about three miles offshore, with other jumps landing directly on the north end of the beach. More activity was expected Wednesday.

Members of the production crew posted in the North Beach parking lot offered no comment Tuesday, but other sources report the stunt work is rehearsal for filming to take place in Hong Kong.

"The Dark Knight" is scheduled for release next July, with other scenes being filmed in Chicago, Los Angeles and London.

i doubt it's hauling equipment. they have equipment trucks and vans for that. they could have other hospital scenes. in fact, i'm sure they have other hospital scenes. but i think having the mob blowing up buildings and then the joker blowing up barges would kinda be weird. it would be like "sh-t, who doesn't blow things up in gotham?" i think they are going with a slight terrorist edge for joker so i just assume if any large thing gets blown up, it's the joker. a car, i could see that being the mob. but a hospital? that sounds like joker. plus the bus being there would be a strange coincidence. i guess we'll have to wait and see if the explosion emanates from the bus.

well, there is a time window. it could be today or tomorrow. but it will be between 11 and 1. mainly because of the sun i assume. so we know the time. but it might not be today. it won't be at night though. they need the perfect natural light. as troma stated, their permit is for a specific time of day.

That other structure, the larger cluster of buildings, is HUGE...are they really going to level that? There's no way because there are a ton of vehicles still nearby. But they have cleared everything away from that smaller structure...

It would be quite unrealistic for there just to be a single demolition shot of the whole building going down, with added fire, explosions etc. My guess is that they'll do a large explosion with some demolition of part of the building and then follow that later with the more "formal" demolition

I'm gonna lean towards the smaller one. Just cuz it's easier and less hassle to deal with. The only thing that really matters is that starting today.....patients will die. Fox of chicago is a station of their wuuuuurd.

Yeah, there's no way that larger, main structure is going down anytime soon...look at all the vehicles and equipment still near it (but they're all far away from the parking thingie, which they made efforts to "dress up" as a hospital.

It won't be immediately afterward...it'll take a while for all the smoke and dust to clear. These building implosions make quite a mess.

Watching that footage - in a scene shot at what it supposed to be a hospital, but involving real life implosion/destruction - it's hard to tell which vehicles are actual Chicago fire and police, and which ones are "Gotham City fire and PD" movie vehicles.

Could be the J-man left a bomb in the bus he used for the bank robbery and blows it when the GCPD show up.

Part of me wants to think this has something to do with Dent being thought of as "dead".

Maroni would be clever enough to know that if Dent survived the acid he would still be taken to a hospital. But the bomb thing and the buses scream Joker.

But all that could play into the "mob goes to Joker for help" theory some came up with after the teaser trailer.
