Yea there was never a "See you in September" some sources said we would get some new viral sites from The Joker during this time, but no trailer or anything. And no hard proof of this.
Though I do have a feeling that maybe on Halloween something will happen, not big, but maybe some new pics/viral site and maybe the main site will launch. Heres hoping.

I don't think we can really complain about the lack of a new viral site this month. If anything, the site would have been used to reveal those pics that were leaked. So I'm guessing them being leaked kinda spoiled the plans for this month's viral site. Though if we DO get one, I wouldn't expect to get anything new from it.
We still have two more weeks don't give up hope yet

I'm still not getting the presence of the Willy Wonka trucks. I understand that they shot Willy Wonka in Cardington 3 years ago, but those candy trucks oughtta be tarped up. Now, if for some reason WB wanted to cleverly insert one of these trucks into the movie they're forgetting a couple of things. 1) It by no means fits into the Nolan design universe. 2)It has Euro plates still.
Weird, I wish this could be cleared up a bit more.

the wonka vans are allways at the hangers in the parking area , along with the Harry potter car and the swat vans . Warners appear to use the hanger as a storage area for cars , vans etc used in thier films .
those are cool pictures from the inside of the hanger though , I read that part of the begins set was taken down when they shot Fred Claus at the hanger .
I guess im wondering if they left this part down so they could fit in the engine room set . I like the shot of the main street too , I think this is where they may shoot some more footage of the Joker after the truck is over turned .

First off the Wonka trucks as some one said earlier, are not in the film, it's just left in storage from when WB filmed Burton's Charlie and the Chocolate factory.
Second there is no candy factory in the movie.....they dressed up the abandon candy factory to be a General Hospital for when the Joker blows it up.

they should have applied for janitorial positions at the hangars six months prior to filming, as to throw them off the scent. this would have given them ample time to set up hidden cameras on the premises, along with microphones. they couldn't leak any of their footage until filming was almost over, because the angles of the shots would have compromised the positions of the recording equipment.

I don't know if there are any hypesters that live in Hong Kong so I wouldn't be holding my breath.
Sorry to disappoint you but I am indeed one of the hypesters in Hong Kong. In fact, here comes some news about TDK which I wish you mates will be interested in.
Report has it that a skyscraper in the Central district has been targetted. The report, however, didn't mention what will happen there, though I believe the sky-diving will take place there. The funny thing is that I have a friend working in the department concerned in the building. So I checked with her and what I have been told is that the crew of TDK has contacted the managment of the building, while no contract has been signed. Here's the information about the building: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Center
Apart from the skyscraper, the report also mentioned that some surrounding areas will also be used for the filmingof TDK. There are indeed some "old-styled" building there, something similar with the building in the former "walled city", where the Gothem City in BB is based on,while it is much less crowded and much more spacious, so I dun think they will be used as the slum area of Gothem City.
Too bad that the report is not detailed enough. Batman is not as popular as that in the US and UK afterall. People in general cannot even distingish DC superheroes from the Marvel freaks (well, I am a DC guy) so from time to time people will ask if Spiderman is one of the members in the JLA.
I will try to dig out more and hope to give you full coverage.
Cheers.

Kam Nai-wai, of the Central and Western District Council, also warned residents to prepare ear-plugs as the producers intend to use a helicopter in the late hours of the day.
Kam's warning followed a district council meeting yesterday at which the distributors for The Dark Knight, a sequel to the hit movie Batman Begins, outlined how the caped crusader intends to move from Gotham City to fight his enemies who are gathering in Hong Kong.
The filming locations will include the Central-Mid-Levels escalator, some parts of Queen's Road Central and The Centre. Some areas are expected to be closed to the public during the nine days of filming.
The distributor of the movie, Warner Brothers, told the council it is seeking the approval of various government departments for the closure of some roads during filming. Kam said the road closures could cause traffic chaos if done in daytime.
"Warner Brothers also said it will use a helicopter for the filming. Of course, we are worried that the residents will be disturbed," Kam said.
The representative from the distributor assured the district council Queen's Road Central will only be blocked around midnight and that daytime shooting will take place mainly inside The Centre.
He explained the helicopter would be used to film the night views along Victoria Harbour and
could include A Symphony of Lights, the interactive laser-light performance connecting buildings on both sides of the harbor. The distributor also told the district council disruptions to the service of the Central-Mid-Levels escalator would be minimal.
About 80 US-based staff will be in Hong Kong for the filming and the company hopes to hire another 200 local staff.
The Television and Entertainment Licensing Authority confirmed it had received a notification from Warner Brothers, saying it would try to minimize any inconvenience to the public.

It seems that the shooting will only focus on the commercial area, so I guess we dun see the rural part of Hong Kong, I guess it is safe to say that they are not taking Hong Kong as the narrow as rumoured previously. But what I am wondering is, are they really be taking Hong Kong as "Hong Kong" or some part in Gotham? I know this idea may sounds completely insane to some of you (and it sounds crazy to me for a while), but I would still love to share something with you:
1) HL is also on the list. According to the report, there will be a duel between Batman and Joker on the Peak in Hong Kong. So is the Joker travelling to HK from Gotham too? I really doubt that. I can only come up with the idea that the goon, who will be Joker, go out-of-Gotham on a mission, sth related to Lau maybe, but some freaky accident happens (the zipline rumour? if some duel is taking place on the Peak with HL and someone falls from a helicopter as reported previously?) That would make some sense to me.
2) Michael Caine, Alfred the bulter, is also on the list. So we can assume that "Bruce Wayne", not only "Batman" will be showing up in Hong Kong. So how would they handle the story? 2 iconic figures appearing in somewhere out of Gotham during the same period of time to make people start suspecting that Bruce Wayne is actually Batman?
Yea I know, they may sound really stupid....

Seems to me like they will use Hong Kong as itself in some parts of TDK (BW traveling to HK) and Hong Kong as a section of Gotham in other parts (Batman fighting).
I refuse to believe that Batman will be featured outside of Gotham.

Yeah it will probably be used as both HK and Gotham. I just dont see Bruce Wayne and Batman, The Joker, Alfred, and Lau all in Hong Kong at the same time. Lau is rumored to have connections with Maroni and is therefore brought back to Gotham to help in Dent's case against him. If this is the case, then I can see how Batman would go to HK for the purpose of capturing him. But according to a call sheet, Bruce also has his "own plans" for Lau that he shares with Lucius Fox. I really don't have any idea how this whole HK thing is going to go down.

1) Batman is a fixture of Gotham and his purpose is to rid Gotham of crime, it doesn't make sense to me why he would travel abroad to fight crime, he's not superman.
2) For a guy who goes through the trouble to order various pieces of the cowl through dummy corporations and assemble the pieces himself to avoid suspicion, it makes zero sense to me why Batman would appear in Hong Kong at the same time Bruce Wayne is there. Sure there are plenty of Gothamites who do business in Hong Kong, but would Wayne really take the risk of someone putting 2 and 2 together?
3) I know people are gonna respond to the above, but they are my own opinions and I don't speak for anyone but myself. Its for this reason why I could care less what any of you have to say, you aren't gonna change my mind so don't bother.

Lau is part of the corrupt syndicate Batman is bringing down in Gotham.
He's going there is to perform an "extreme rendition" of Lau so that the D.A.'s office can make his case against the mob. They need Lau's testimony. So Batman fetches him back to the states using Bruce as a cover to get in and out of the country.
at least this is how I see it playing out.

I would love, love, LOVE to see, even briefly, shots of the Manor being re-built, and the new Batcave under construction, with the certainty that a full-blown cave would appear in the 3rd film.
But in the meantime, it's the penthouse and hidden garage.

Well, Batman should always use Gotham as his main hunting ground, but there's nothing wrong with him going outside of Gotham now and then. He actually does it quite often in the comics. Ra's al Ghul rarely does things in Gotham unless he's trying to get under Batman's skin. Most of the time, he's trying to avoid attention by doing things in other countries, then Batman finds out about it and has to go hunt him down and stop him.

You are right. The Wayne Manor is still being rebuilt during this film and all operations are being carried out from the penthouse - we still have no evidence the bat cave or Wayne Manor appear at all in this film.. maybe briefly at the very end? But that is 100% speculation as we still aren't clear what happens after scene 218 until around the final scene in 230.
Well not to start a site/site thing, because I've been reading these boards long enough to know . . . LOL

There will be Joker filming going on there, but if you really did see Jett post that about the manor and bat cave, it would be kind of odd, since even he is aware what we know and have seen of the script does not feature it, and it seems like it would have been a bigger deal.
Plus we know what is being filmed on the majority of the sound stages in London - one of the big unknowns was Pinewood, but we knew the Ferry scene had to happen and Pinewood was the ONLY studio in London to have a water stage with blue screen large enough to support this production - so we were still pretty certain.
The Joker filming in London that will occur is likely to be almost entirely in doors/ on closed studios if you get the idea, so it's unlikely we'll get that many if any, new images.

I imagine Hong Kong is ALSO going to be Hong Kong since it is featured in the script.
Almost no principals are going to Hong Kong - not saying that it is out of the question for doubling as Gotham 'cause I mean actors don't have to be there to do that, or may only have to appear very limited number of days. As filming begins we'll probably know more.

I found where I got that they think Hong Kong will indeed be the city itself. But for the cave and manor, I can only find the same thing you all are saying about them NOT being in TDK at all. (This is what happens when I let myself get behind on Bat news :csad: .)

I am torn between the idea of both ideas. I don't have a problem at all with Batman being out of Gotham, and I don't get why people are making a fuss out of it, as has been said Batman goes out of Gotham quite a bit. That being said I can't help but wonder how suspicious it would be for Wayne to go to HK, and all of a sudden Batman stops appearing at night in Gotham, and all of a sudden starts appearing in Hong Kong. That would raise a lot of eyebrows.

If I'm not mistaken Wayne industries has an office in HK. This would be perfect cover for Bruce as he's just checking up on his company.
If not then he could I'm sure set up some business deal as cover.
Bruce going to HK wouldn't raise any eyebrows. Batman appearing in public while Bruce is there just might though.
It will be cool to see how they play it. As for getting equipment off the plane unchecked it probably won't be that hard. He is a multi billionaire after all. Not exactly one that would be highly suspicious.

Workers and residents in Central and Western should be prepared for chaos when Batman arrives in Hong Kong in November, a district councillor warned yesterday.

Batman's arrival ruffles Hong Kong politicians
Friday September 21 7:14 PM ET
The arrival of Batman in Hong Kong this November for filming of the latest Hollywood sequel has ruffled local politicians who say the masked hero could disrupt traffic and cause noise pollution, reports said on Friday.
In "The Dark Knight" due for release next July, the Caped Crusader will leave Gotham City for Hong Kong to fight his enemies, Hong Kong's Standard newspaper reported.
But local politicians who met the film's producers on Thursday reportedly expressed concerns at the inconvenience and "traffic chaos," Batman might cause during the nine-day shoot.
if(c.indexOf("adx_fc_21084")==0||c.indexOfOne district councilor warned residents in the normally teeming, high-decibel city to "prepare earplugs" as the filmmakers planned to use a helicopter for late night scenes, the report added.
"Of course, we are worried that the residents will be disturbed," Kam Nai-wai, a district councilor for the affected downtown district of Central was quoted as saying.
Hong Kong's stunning, modern cityscapes and harbor panoramas have proven a draw for Hollywood producers in the past, including a "Tomb Raider" movie starring Angelina Jolie (http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/contributor/1800019275).
"We welcome the movie but want to ensure arrangements are hassle free," said Kwok Ka-ki, a legislator who attended the meeting. "Just don't get it done in the middle of the night at 2 a.m.," he told Reuters, referring to the helicopter sequences. The Batman flick will be directed by Christopher Nolan (http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/contributor/1800021821) and star Christian Bale (http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/contributor/1800018597), Heath Ledger (http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/contributor/1800018553) and Michael Caine (http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/contributor/1800014833), with filming to also take place in Chicago and London according to reports.

Is there a handbook that says posting on a message board has to be done for feedback and discussion?
One can't simply make a statement and leave it at that?
Then just post it on babaghanoush.com. This is a forum - discussion is expected. For instance, if I said 'regwec is an ass. That's my opinion. and you can't change it.' I would still except people who disagree with that opinion (regwec, for one) to disagree with that and say so. My saying I don't want anyone to reply as my mind is made up implies a certain arrogance and narrow-mindedness. If you don't want to, just don't reply to anyone, you don't have to... just don't make a point of it.

Hong Kong is really cool and all, but...see, one thing I always liked more about Marvel than DC is that Marvel took place in real locations, whereas DC was fictional locations. And Batman going to real places just seems like a very Marvel-esque thing to do. So while I like Batman-in-Hong-Kong, part of me is resentful and thinks he should be forced to stay in Gotham for petty reasons.

There have been a few good remakes here and there. The Departed, The Thing, A Fistful of Dollars... Just to name a few.
But yeah, there has to be a limit because I named like 1% that are good. The other 99% is all garbage.

Interesting new report from Dark Horizons (sorry if this item has been posted):
http://www.darkhorizons.com/news07/070923b.php
With most of the filming on "The Dark Knight" finished, the last bit of shooting looks to have hit a minor snag reports The New York Times.
A nine-day location shoot (with helicopters) is planned this November in Hong Kong and local politicians have become worried that the production could disrupt traffic and cause noise pollution.
Scenes will include a car chase in the Central business district, a helicopter flyover over the Victoria Harbour, some shooting in Queen's Road Central and a fight scene at the Central-Mid-Levels escalator, the longest escalators in the world.
Reports indicate that these scenes will be serving as the actual locations, not doubles for Gotham City, and it's the only scenes in the film set outside Gotham (those scenes were all shot in London and Chicago).
The council is currently considering the application.

I just saw an old movie I remember from my childhood I think could totally be remade and improved upon: Mad Monster Party, an old stop-motion movie that puts all most famous monsters together, Dracula, Frankenstein, Werewolf, etc., in a tongue-in-cheek way. The movie was pretty unusual for its time, much of the humor isn´t directed at kids, still has a certain style and charm and was clearly a major influence on Tim Burton´s reinvention of stop-motion with Nightmare Before Christmas, but it could be improved in a lot of aspects: not only the animation is crude for today´s standards, but a lot of the humor is dated - feel like jokes from the old Munsters show - ,none of the characters has a real arc - the "hero" is a nerdy allergic dude who doesn´t really have much to do except save this hot chick created by Dr. Frankenstein who´s an evil b*** all the movie and all of a sudden falls in love with the nerd - and it has some boring musical numbers.

Hey everyone,
New to the forum! I just wanted to say the Friday just gone I randomly met Aaron Eckhart in Rathbone Place (just off Oxford Street, London).
I had just popped in to a shop, came out and there were some workmen sitting down (by the red door in the pic) and there was Aaron chatting to them, taking pictures with a very cool camera.
After he finished I went up to him and explained who I was (that I am working at a VFX house and seen some of the concepts and finals for Two Face). He was quite suprised and said "It's a great joy and honour to work on such a great project like Batman". He shook my hand and said have a great day and I returned the gesture.
A true gentlemen! Unfortunatly I didn't ask for a photo. He was kind enough to stop in the street and chat to a complete stranger!
Sounds like a great experience. You are a very lucky individual. So You've seen some of the concepts and finals for Two Face? Care to describe them for us?

Firstly, VFX #1 are working on the Joker CGI so I can't really say much.
As for the concepts of Two Face..I know there is a line I have must stay behind because I don't want to risk my job. You won't be disapointed.
The main bulk of Dent is CGI but it works really well. Again I wish I could say more but I know the score when it comes down to this sort of thing.
Thanks Dante..this is interesting about CGI for Joker, I hadn't heard anything about that before.

no. but if i had to guess i would say his mouth. perhaps we see his cheeks completely cut open (like pan's labyrinth or ichi the killer). but, it's also possible that it's just for big stunts when we need a full body cg joker. hard to say. i'm rooting for a cut cheek shot though. it was so great in pan's labyrinth.
Yeah that would be awesome. That scene is Pan's Labyrinth was disturbing but when I saw that after reading about TDK Joker I definitely could see him doing the same thing..it would be quite chilling

yeah. that could be a great scene. especially if he's giggling while sewing up his face.
The disfigured face stared back at him through the mirror. The cut crawled up his cheek like a weed. It was to be an everlasting reminder of the Batman, of how he mercilessly caused this deformity, this mutilation, which marked his face. As the blood dripped into the sink, forming a crimson pool, an idea entered his mind. Quietly at first, he began to giggle. He picked up the knife which had lain by his feet. Slowly, he began cutting. As he watched the smile slowly evolve onto his face, he began to laugh harder still. The blood did not disturb him, the pain was nonexistent. Finally he was done. He gazed upon himself and his new eternal smile. His high pitched caw of a laugh sputtered from the depths of his dry throat, and as he laughed, through the mirror his gruesome disfigurement of a face laughed back hauntingly.
CaptainClown
