No - I know my way around, as I've been to PO, Chicago theater (I worked there) and the garage - and I know where 111 E Wacker is, but are there any other places in Sas's sig that I'm missing?

I tried moving it over to Google Maps, but its not quite as featureful at the moment. Is it Safari you're using? Just tried Safari for Windows and it doesn't work. Should work with Firefox on Mac.

Probably too late now but they might also be filming at the Amtrak train yards today, but I doubt you'd be able to get near it anyway. The garage and the penthouse are the best bets.

If it helps, I don't know where they're filming, but I believe today involves a scene with the Gotham City Police & National Guard.

while we wait for the doctor's video to go live i'll toss in a few bones:

1.) i just stopped by the penthouse set and there was absolutely nothing going on. all but a couple of the trailers have moved elsewhere. lighting was still set up but covered in black plastic.

2.) i can vouch for the batsignal being on the rooftop - it's wrapped in plastic.

3.) they are probably NOT filming tonight. no lighting has been set up on the surrounding streets and there are still tons of AV / power cables sitting bunched on the sidewalk waiting to be loaded into the place. they will need at least another 2-3 days to set up. my guess is that this will be a weekend shoot.

4.) there are two or three breakaway walls built up in different places on the roof, i doubt these have anything to do with the GPD rooftop set.

5.) there seems to be a TON of activity going on on the two floors immediately beneath the rooftop. at one point i saw someone removing the parking signs on those floors. they also painted out the color-coded floor indicators. count on them filming within the parking garage.

6.) on the street next to the parking garage is a rusty cage (think scaled-down wire version of the water tank in the prestige). it's sitting semi-hidden behind a cloth lined chain link fence. it has all kinds of warning placards on it. note -- it sits right next to the 'L' tracks and may be equipment destined for use with the ongoing track maintenance.

7.) there are three suspension cables stretching out to meet at the center of the spiral ramp -- looks like they are going to suspend something there. batcycle a la "batman: year 100"???

8.) earlier today i saw a rusted, busted old 20's / 30's pickup truck being guided into the parking garage by a PA. it looked as though it was hastily painted purple (!) and the surface texture looked distressed in a very nolan-esque way.

My husband and I saw the cables there on Monday night. Some lady was litterally just sitting on the stack. We thoght maybe she was just some homeless person so we circles back after going by the theatre, and she was still there. It was then I noticed her jacket looking semi-offical. Can you imagine you job being just to sit on a stackof cables all night?

I used to work inside 111 E. Wacker... If you are driving on E. Wacker, it's the black 30+ story skyscraper that is part of a complex that also includes 233 North Michigan and a large plaza between the two buildings. The plaza was the location for the Dent press conference, and the stairs shown in some of the photos lead right down to the street level on E. Wacker.

During the filming of Batman Begins, a portion of the police chase was filmed underneath our building on Lower Wacker heading west. I was lucky enough to get footage the first night of shooting before getting chased away by a few PA's.

1.) do you think they're still coming back to that set? the blog reported that Bale already shot a scene there, hence the assumption that its the Penthouse (other than the fact that it can pass for one).

Originally my posse and I thought they were for the actors, due to the large imprinted black stars with blank name slates on them. However, that could easily just be the gimick of that particular trailer company. So there's no way to know for sure that they were for the actors.

However, there was something that did catch my eye. One of the larger trailers was situated a little ways away from the four or five other ones. This one appeared to have a massive television inside. One of my buddies pointed that out and I instantly thought "editing trailer". That could very well be where they are watching the dailies after they wrap on the set.

I plan to go back every day and pry my heart out until I'm tasered beyond cognitive comprehension or I get something to show you patient folks in this thread.

Again, if anyone has a tip on where to go... LET ME KNOW! I have an insanely high resolution camera that also has one of the best zoom functions that I've seen on a camera. I WILL BRING BACK THE BACON!

I've got class from 10am - 5pm, but I plan to head up to the set before class and then immediately afterwards. I've got a feeling that today could be their day. The set didn't look completely finished. My buddy Sam pointed out that there was still carpeting to be put in and other wood bits that were still uncovered or painted. I bet that they are finishing the work on the set today and filming tonight or tomorrow.

I know there have been a few pics online of the set, but it's soooo much cooler than they let on. It's literally in the lobby of an office building, but looks like it belongs across town on the Magnificent Mile in some swanky apartment complex. I'll try to get some pictures to convey the coolness of the set.

I know that all the filming locations have been put on the first post of a certain thread (not sure if it is this one, though I have a feeling it it), but I still think there should be a new thread full of detail (maps, descriptions of what may be going on, dates, etc) put in its own thread and made a sticky for everyone to see, because most people don't think to check on the first post for new updates or anything.

How I wish I lived, or was even anywhere near Chicago because I'd literally be out on a rooftop all night with a tent scouting out the rooftop for action with a video camera and my digital camera. lol

Sorry about that, but Warner is apparently upset these photos got out, even though there are NO signs prohibiting photography in the building the photos were taken. My guess is that the buildings' own security team was tasked with keeping people off the set, but judging by the number of random folks you can see wandering around and gawking at the set throughout the day, they're obviously doing a pretty bad job of it.

Like I said, there are absolutely no signs saying photos can't be taken (and, duh, there's a huge window on one side of the set so anyone walking by outside can snap pictures to their little heart's content) so personally I feel that I shouldn't have to take down the photos. However, because I'm a considerate fellow, and a fan of what the studio has allowed Christopher Nolan to do with Batman, I've removed them from my site.

while we wait for the doctor's video to go live i'll toss in a few bones:

1.) i just stopped by the penthouse set and there was absolutely nothing going on. all but a couple of the trailers have moved elsewhere. lighting was still set up but covered in black plastic.

2.) i can vouch for the batsignal being on the rooftop - it's wrapped in plastic.

3.) they are probably NOT filming tonight. no lighting has been set up on the surrounding streets and there are still tons of AV / power cables sitting bunched on the sidewalk waiting to be loaded into the place. they will need at least another 2-3 days to set up. my guess is that this will be a weekend shoot.

4.) there are two or three breakaway walls built up in different places on the roof, i doubt these have anything to do with the GPD rooftop set.

5.) there seems to be a TON of activity going on on the two floors immediately beneath the rooftop. at one point i saw someone removing the parking signs on those floors. they also painted out the color-coded floor indicators. count on them filming within the parking garage.

6.) on the street next to the parking garage is a rusty cage (think scaled-down wire version of the water tank in the prestige). it's sitting semi-hidden behind a cloth lined chain link fence. it has all kinds of warning placards on it. note -- it sits right next to the 'L' tracks and may be equipment destined for use with the ongoing track maintenance.

7.) there are three suspension cables stretching out to meet at the center of the spiral ramp -- looks like they are going to suspend something there. batcycle a la "batman: year 100"???

8.) earlier today i saw a rusted, busted old 20's / 30's pickup truck being guided into the parking garage by a PA. it looked as though it was hastily painted purple (!) and the surface texture looked distressed in a very nolan-esque way.

the car looked like it was in as bad of a condition as the suburban used in april.

It depends. Things like that can be classified as such. You're not allowed to take pics of malls due to copyright laws. But if you're on public property, you have every legal right to.

i can really see the joker coming into his own in this movie. he's a small-time crime boss when the whole bank thing happens but as things escalate he becomes enraged and more obsessed with his identity. by the end he's aesthetically toe-to-toe with bats, effectively having become a "symbol".

I just walked right by the windows with no trouble. They are doing a really good job and its VERY detailed seeing that it is set-up on half of a building lobby. I can't wait to see it in the movie.

I liked the last version of the suit, but there were certain things that bothered me. I'm glad to hear that they have made some changes.
