It's a Freespace 2 stand-alone game, but it definitely doesn't play like FS2. For starters the bottom pic up top is ingame. It [I]feels exactly like the dogfights from the TV series. Sound effects are taken directly from the show, but the voice acting is totally original and doesn't suck for a change. it also has a working 3rd person camera (I remember FS2 having one but back then it was HUDless and therefore useless). some of the maps contain huge asteroids and planetscapes. the demo includes 3 campaign missions and a dozen multiplayer modes. there are bots available so all MP modes can be played offline as well.

I can't get this game to fully recognize my joystick (it'll let me move my ship around, but it refuses to recognize any of the buttons), and I can't stand flying with a num-pad. Crap :(

Yeah the controls are... unwieldy to say the least, apparently they're busy rewriting the engines response parameters to button and joystick inputs to make it less jerky. I'm not sure if they've updated since the demo release I should go back and check. I have ho missiles are so abundant though, they rarely use them in the show.

The best part about this show is that in the commercials, everyone's always so serious looking despite the aura of crappiness exuded by the horrendous set-quality.
