but let me tell you something Casting directors tend to go for people who rate highly.... so remarking that someone is overated being a bad thing would be a trait id want to loose to become a casting director...

And forgive me but is the black cat not smoking hot? Of coarse you have to find someone that meets that attractions... and Ali Larter isnt anything near that ammount of attraction.

Yes I have heard some terrible casting ideas... more recently someone argued that John Cena would be a good captain america..... And you can clearly tell in those instances that theres no legitimacy to those ideas.... but to generalize that people just throw names out of people who are good looking with no comprehension of their acting ability or chops.... is ignorant.

Mary does indeed look like MJ, but what's her height comparison to Tobey? I think when Dunst was cast it was because of her performance AND her looks not greatly over shadowing Tobey's. I was going to suggest Mary Elizabeth Winstead for MJ before I saw this thread. She would be an excellent choice. She's talented, hot-as-all-getout, and she's got the right combination of sweet and spunky to play MJ. Very few of the actresses whose names have been thrown out there have that.

The teeth don't bother me at all. That's kind of cute actually. It's more the length of her nose and the shape of her jaw that bothers me.

The boobs can obviously be taken care of with prosthetics, or just plain stuffing; God knows it's worked for enough high schoolers.

I'd feel significantly more comfortable with her as Talia than as Mary Jane. Something a lot of the people who cast Mary Jane overlook is that Mary Jane should have an inherent sweetness about her face. Most people just suggest seemingly random hotties, or anyone attractive with red hair, despite the fact that their face makes them look like a total b****... or at the very least, completely lacks any of the "Girl Next Door" quality that MEW has and MJ needs.
