Can you define what would make you feel "safe" on a large scale?

What changes in your world that Doesn't hurt anyone else physically would you have to make you feel safe?

Mine for example:

1. Stop planned obsolesance(sp) - Stop building things so that they break and force us to buy a replacement.

Because building something to fail is designing something that you can't fully depend on within the parameters of it's function.

Our Light bulbs, batteries, electronics, mech from Sissors to the Space shuttle are DESIGNED to FAIL so sumbody CAN GET PAID.

2. Zero tolerance for murder. Not Man slaughter, not accidental, not thru lack of competence, But you set out to kill others because you can for no good reason - we have proof positive - take you from this plane,..
I will sleep easier knowing that we remove people who see nothing wrong with killing casually.

3. Punishment fit the crime, coupled with Guilty is Guilty,.. where you can't get off because you are Martha Stewart or Rush Limbaugh, or Michael Jackson,... Or Bill Gates.

I will feel comfortable in regards to law enforcement knowing that EVerybody is under the same level of law.


4. Corrections to our society.
Flat rate State and Income tax,
Right now it ramps on how much you make capping at 50% of your earnings.

Term limits on all forms of Government with a Draft instituted for the harder positions. A man who is a CEO for a billion dollar corp is forced to be President for four years,.. not do well enough he's stuck for four more years.

Those who want war put on a uniform or place themselves in danger,.. Those who don't,.. shut up if they lose the bid and get behind and support the war effort.


These are examples "off the cuff" but if I lived in a country with those four things in place,.. I would be able to feel comfortable living here.

I personally think that's brilliant. Take a guy who, at one time, didn't have money...experience what it was like to be lower-middle class to lower class and put him in the presidency... PURE BRILLIANCE. This guy would be all for the people. I can't stand the "bred for president" rich kids we always get..they know nothing of real life and have no compassion. The first step to making me feel more confident in the future of the world is Government. I believe all levels of government should be held accountable for the promises they make when they attempt to get elected. If you are elected and have made 100 promises when you ran for office, then each year in office you should lose 10% of your salary for each unkept (I don't say broken because they may keep it the following year) promise and gain a 1% increase in salary for each kept promise. Then the bloody politicians would stop making promises they know they can't keep. Once that happens we might see actual improvements.

When I was a small child,.. I felt safe in the arms of my mother,...

When I was a boy,.. I felt safe after my father returned from vietNam,.. He appeared to me to be more of a force of nature that was on my side.

When I was a young Man,.. I felt safe in The Coast Guard because as a force for good I had a government enity behind my actions and we were doing stuff I could get behind 100%.

Now I'm older and wiser and what I posted in the first post would give me the the same level of "feeling safe" that I had as a small child.

You say that your "level" of feeling safe is "unchanging".
