So I'm stuck in a bit of a quandry.

On one hand, Matt and I are men of principles.

Matt's principle, that he sticks up for TCBK or else forfeits.

My principle, that I should stick with my decision based on the preset rules that I have established.

If I concede, it's anarchy for all.

I disagree with the anarchy. It is reversing a bad call. But alas, I've presented my points and I will let it rest there as it is your decision to make.

Matt
04-25-2007, 04:06 PM
MATT YOU LITTLE GIRL, YOU CAN'T FORFEIT 'CAUSE I ALREADY SAID YOU SHOULD WIN!
IF YOU FORFEIT THEN I'LL FORFEIT! I WILL FORFEIT THE **** OUT OF YOU!
:cmad:

lol

You wish. Your forfeit is a forfeit because you know you were beaten. My forfeit is one of protest. My forfeit owns your forfeit.

Because it has nothing to do with community. For example what if wilhelm goes away for a month. One of your voters might decide to come back to the hype for that month only and therefore be prevented from experiencing the full glory that is wilhelm.

If you have posters who have been here month after month then they have at least had THE OPPORTUNITY to experience both posters

that kind of logic removes all responsibility from the competitor in this game. If they do not know Wilhelm it is because Wilhelm has chosen not to go to those forums.

Has nothing to do with specific boards otherwise this would be community only.

another example, if a poster's only been here 6 months would you ask a person who hasn't posted in a year to comment on them?

If the poster is familiar with the other poster, yes. It doesn't matter if they only know one. This is a popularity contest. It is who you know. Not who you and your opponent knows. I've never interacted with passerby, the deadite, or vilya. Should their votes be disqualified because of that?

Lets liken this to politics again. If someone is running for President, and they have only had their citizenship for 3 months, should their vote be denied? Or what if they intentionally went out of their way to familiarize themselves with only one candidate...should they not count?

Your system comes off as elitist and unfair. Regardless of how long they have been here, they are active members of the Hype and therefore are entitled to their vote.

Matt and Wil just may pass Superman79 and SB in terms of "lesser known voter controversy".Yeah. That was awesome when X-Chick said, "This is lame how suddenly you're disqualifying votes." and people said, "No he's not! Scream is not a whiny b**** and that Matt "Let's debate semantics and ethics and procedure regarding the Death Matches for 5 pages and huwwy UP and tell me if Wilhelm lost and if he didn't I forfeit 'cause it's imperative that only I win not both of us" is a "Whiny Little B****."

Then X-Chick says she never checks back after she votes and doesn't care who wins or loses.........except she did check back.....to say:
That seems like crap, especially how its suddenly just in this match that votes get disqualified. :down
and
That match was unimportant so I paid no attention to it. I've been known to post less than once a day, or once a month even, maybe you should disqualify my votes too. :cmad:

Dude, that is brilliant.
Pitting all the campaigners against eachother is the only way to really sift through and get an outcome with the same weight as a victory used to have. When all involved parties are appealing to Superman/Spider-Man/X-Men/F4 forums, it becomes more about the quality of the poster than which forums he likes to visit.

Plus, I'd sleep happily losing to Brodie or Kipobe as they would actually deserve to win.

Did Abaddon campaign? I didn't think he did.

Quite a few people campaigned in both of these rounds--more than Abbadon, Matt and myself (and I didn't even push hard in the last one at all just to avoid all of this BS later). Kaz is up in the mix now, as well as Superman79 and Cmill. So...yeah. I think this whole issue is just getting really tired. lol

Whoring up votes was a staple in the past deathmatches--and they extended far beyond Community's borders even then. So it's kinda...how shall I say it--tacky--that's suddenly a major issue now.

:whatever:
No it's not. I've lost in every Death Match and did so cheerfully...even voting for my opponent in some cases. You people don't get it.

It's two different views of what makes a Death Match fun.
I never said campaigning is cheating. I've said 50 times, "Give it to Matt, because if it's Hype-Wide instead of a Community thing, I D.E.S.E.R.V.E. to lose, 'cause I never frequent other forums."

Why can't you read and comprehend th^t?

I had fun in the the Death Matches because it was all peers, communicative peers, who ended up voting. That was the source of all the humor and good-natured ribbing.

Losing to votes from Duende Verde, or Dew K. Mosi, or Kipobe, or Erzengel was entertaining. Losing to a faceless, silent person you'll never, ever converse with is not.
I don't understand why that sounds unreasonable to you.

I didn't even complain about it, but the Death Matches are now a different sport. It used to be about the reputation you'd cultivated over time. Now it's a more immediate "How well do you reach out to the masses and how prolific and well-travelled are you." contest.

That's fine, but it's like having guys in wheelchairs compete against the NBA. It's a different sport that I can't compete in.....and all that translates into is, I'm not going to waste my time making funny pictures specifically for a match.
What's the big deal?

P.S. Even my "Matt is a Baby" pics kick your "Wilhelm is a Baby" pics.

I guess I share similiar sentiments. This is my first Deathmatch but I have not enjoyed it much at all. Whatever thrill that came from "whoring up votes" in previous matches has somehow eluded me--perhaps it's due to this constant third-degree treatment that has permeated this series. One cannot enjoy his/her victory if they're gonna be branded by their peers.

It's petty. :down

Spoons, Erz and I had spent days without sleep, trying to deprogram him using images of Cyclops from X-Men books and films. Erz got frustrated and wanted to start hitting him with a bag of Valencia Oranges, but we were concerned that it would only reinforce the FauxTaiwarriorz personality that had become dominant. Then I had the idea to play on the racist tendencies of the personality, so we had Spoons just hug him and say "I love you, man!". It got a little scary, there, for a bit. The FauxTai personality reacted violently and was enraged, fighting against the ropes we'd bound him with. He finally broke, though, long enough for Shadow's normal personality to take control and push the FauxTai out of his body. It was a very emotional time. I only fear that the FauxTai Demon is out there, unchecked, and may be looking for another host. *looks suspiciously at BRUTAL*
