I've heard talk of a flame thrower and missle launchers but as yet I haven't heard mention of repulsor rays. Do you think we'll see 'em or do you think Favs will deem them 'too unrealistic'? Anyone heard anything?

i think the repulsers can be depicted as advanced taser type devices

If I remember right in an interview with Jon Favreau, Jon said Repulsors will be a big part of the movie, the flamethrower will be just on the Mark 1 armor, but later more advanced armors will have the repulsors.

IF72 is correct, Jon stated back in the MySpace group that repulsor technology is key to the movie.

Congratulations on the Iron Man gig, I know that you'll succeed in making a great movie. Here are a few questions that I would be honoured if you answered.

1) Will the overall tone of the movie be dark, light, or a combination of both -- kind of a la Spider-man?

2) Couldn't you settle the static helmet problem with an in helmet cam that you could cut to at key moments?

3) What other superhero projects would you be interested in getting involved with if the opportunity arose?

4) Will Iron Man use repulsar rays or something a little more primative to start off with?

Thanks.

Jon Favreau:

1) See FAQ thread
2) You're getting warmer...
3) Groo
4) Repulsor technology is a big part of the script.

In my opinion Iron Man without his Repulsor Rays is like Spider-Man without webbing.

He even mentions them in Spidey TAS: "Nice try Mordo, now you've earned a taste of my Repulsor Rays".

I'd just assumed they'd have to have the repulsor rays since they're an integral part of Iron Man's repertoire, but it's good to see it formally acknowledged. Favreau's really done well to get me hyped for this movie.

I think the flame thrower and Missle launcher are a part of the gray suit...flame thrower being that canister on the outside of the fore arm

when Stark gets back home he can really go nuts with what he puts in the suite

If you see the new photo of the MArk III suit then you clearly see the repulsor rays inside his palm!

im sure somthing similair will be on the upgraded suit.him shooting flames from that suit would kill the film.

I'm sure the mark 2 would have some upgrades but by then he should started making repulsor rays.
