I wouldn't spoil it anyway...but, it does upset me that she's "done" with not just the HP character...but the entire wizarding world she created...I mean...Lucas allowed books, and alternate universe and storylines to produced in all forms of media, animation, books, comics, video games...why not successfully attempt this with the Harry Potter universe...?! All she has to do is approved storylines, hire some experts to oversee editing content that really doesn't fit or work...maybe Harry's story is over...but you could tell thousands of other stories existing in this world.
nosebleed.
05-14-2007, 07:59 PM
Has she said she won't allow other stories to come out of the Harry Potter universe? If that's the case then it would be a great waste of years of work just to end like that.

BEST JOKE EVER :woot:
Frequently Asked Questions About Gingervitis
and Ginger Kids.
Do Ginger Kids have Souls?
Unfortunately no, Ginger Kids are born without souls. A common misconception is that you need a soul to survive. This is completely false. Ginger Kids are people just like everyone else, even if they don’t have souls. Many Ginger Kids live happy, healthy, productive lives devoid of any sort of soul.
If a Ginger Kid bites me what should I do?
If you have been bitten by a Ginger Kid immediately wash the wound with soap and water. If you have alcohol or peroxide apply it to the wound. Then call your local poison control for further assistance.

I wouldn't have read them at all but I was at my grandmother's house for two weeks, and after I'd read all my books I started on my sister's.

I guess the reason I love the series so much is because it's a nice magical trip away from everyday life. I don't read much outside of school, so why not submerge myself into a world of magic when I'm supposed to be doing Immunology homework? :o

Same here. I hated the books, and the movies bored me as well.
Only reason I really watch them is because my grandmother loves them, and most of them were in theatres around her birthday, so since the entire family would be together for her birthday [and Thanksgiving] we'd go see the movie.
My grandma kicks ass, though.

Odd, I thought the books were far from boring. Easy read, and despite the length I finished them quickly because I couldn't put them down! I love the world that Rowling creates, and I think it's one that people of all ages can enjoy. They aren't very complicated, and it's nice to read that sort of fantasy. I read enough super complex material.

Why? If she wants to keep her world contained I say let her. I'd rather she keep it contained than just letting everyone and anyone write a story with her characters and dilluting the original books for just a quick buck (which she doesn't need). I think it's nice to see someone show that kind of restraint in this day and age of excessive greed.

This isn't about money. It wouldn't even have to be a bunch of new writers. She could pick one person she liked and approve his/her storylines and go from there. I didn't mean having stories coming about about the minute details of every shop on Diagon Alley :)

Bah! I don't wanna go into the past. I wanna know more about the present world. I think I could read a whole book about the ins and outs of the Ministry of Magic or about Charlie Weasly's dragon adventures, etc.

I'm sure that'll happen again and with YouTube even more popular nowadays I'm sure we'll get better produced videos of things like this. My friend's getting married that weekend so I won't even be able to get the book till Sunday or Monday, I'll probably run across a spoiler or two since it usually takes me a week or two to finish the books. I heard about Snape killing Dumbledore in the last book, but it didn't hurt my enjoyment of the book, since the real impact was how it happened, not just that it happened.

It is quite a shame that we have to avoid most media coverage to avoid being spoiled.
The one thing I don't get is people scouring the internet trying to find scripts for movies that don't even come out for a year.
I mean on one hand it's great to see a story play out on screen, but if you know what's going to happen next, it kills the surprise. I don't get these type of people.

Plotless, badly written psudeo-kink wannabe porno ****, to put it nicely. Last offering I think was something like 500-odd pages, took place over 12 hours. Was pretty much a case of 'Oh noes! The world is in danger! Someone SEX MEH so I can save teh worldz!', 100 page cringeworthy sex scene plus pointless repetitive infodumping and in total about 10 pages of real plot for the whole book. Ever single male character has become a clone with no balls who exists purely to **** anita...

Funny thing is that based on her writing style after reading all the books, I think I figured out the ending... it's fairly predicitable and I hope it's not how I think it's going to end. If she's smart she'll stay away from what I'm thinking... I'm not even going to put my idea into spoilers because someone will look and then say I spoiled it and then I'll get banned :( *sigh* It's happened before on one other board I used to visit, I don't go there anymore...
