so both films are released on july 27th in the uk.

anyone else think this is seriously going to put a lock on the uk box office for transformers, there is no way it will pull in more people than simpsons

I have been saying for quite some time that the Simpsons movie will be the surprise hit of the summer...

it has a TREMENDOUS fan base....possibly dare I say it larger then that of Star wars

but many of them are quite often stoned.... so expect a good strong WOM run but probubly not a huge opening ..as many may get stoned to go see the movie...then forget what they are doing on the drive to the movie distracted by say... Burger King

If i must choose between The Simpsons Movie and The Transformers Movie, then i choose Transformers.

Why? I have seen already The Simpsons but never Transfomers...

Simpsons is for the next day. Simpsons and Transformers comes both out on 25th of July in Belgium.

I'll certainly be seeing Transformers before i see Simpsons, Heck i might go see both in one day or summit.

I don't know what the draw is for overseas but in the US I don't think The Simpsons are going to effect anybody else's box office too much. But then again you never know...it just might be the sleeper surprise some people think it might be.

i think the imapct is mainly due to both being released on the same day here

The Simpsons is nowhere near as popular as it once was here in the UK. Personally, I think the movie is about 10 years too late. I'll see it of course but I'm far more excited about the release of Transformers.

However, I still don't understand why an English speaking country and cinema-going nation like Britain has to wait an extra three weeks.
