True, but when we start randomly giving them annoying sarcastic answers it gives us a bad reputation, banter is alright and funny with us because we get used to each other and can let it slide, but some people who have just joined up, we might seem a little hostile at first.

Well, I was going to leave Mantis for now and work on another character until next Season. But I don't know if I can bring myself to do it.

That'd be cool, but I don't think I'd take on a second character at this point, just because I'm still developing Icon right now. Mybe if I had started with him in the first place and had established him better I'd do a second, but I wouldn't be ready for one. But that's just me personally. As GM, I recommend that you don't drop Mantis EBJ, even if you're picking him up again, what I may suggest is that you use him to introduce a second character instead, having your season 2 character appear as a supporting character or something, that way it avoids the anoying character changes etc, and builds up both characters at once?

I think second characters now, could be a good idea, but we did say season 2, and it would make sense to hold to our own standards, in the fairness of carving out this season well.

Due to the recent absence of my co-GM, I myself have found myself stranded in the IC, and the urge to pick up another character is obviously there, but I think for the good of the RPG, we need a slower buildup of characters, in season one, there are quite a few super-humans etc, but we want there to be a noticable gradual buildup, which is where season 2 changes the dynamic, hence the extra character slot.

Thoughts anyone?

For this first warning, I was very lenient about the term 'recently.' I checked back as far as the new year. If you posted after 1/1/08, your character is clear. Mason paced up and down the concrete room. A bare bulb swung on the ceiling and the only furnishing was a wooden chair in the middle of the room. There was a man strapped to the chair, his face broken and bloody, blood forming a pool on the floor underneath him.

“Mr Frachetii, I am sick and tired of these games. I will ask you one last time. Who are you working for?” he said, backhanding him across the jaw. Frachetii’s head snapped back, and the ropes holding him to the chair strained.
He opened his mouth and blood spilled out.

Mason shook his head, and pulled a pistol from his jacket. Frachetii’s eyes opened wide before there was a sharp BANG, and a bullet passed through his brain.

Sorry I've been absent for ages, had a few issues with my DOP and i've been doing more rehearsals with my cast, so time is slipping away.

As for the GM world, I originally signed up as a supporting GM, and have now become the main GM, which is a bit crazy, good to see that the RP community here has taken a little action to smooth things over, which is great, if anyone has any questions or anything, let me know, I'll do my best to help, as my head has been a little out of the game for a bit.

It has more detail in his origin than my IC post does, and pretty much covers what will be my team-up arc with Astroid-Man, except without A-Man and a bit altered. I've never written a screenplay before, but the style in which I'm writing this is similar to how Tempest writes his Spider-Man scripts, if you've ever read them. I'm about 5-6 pages in, and once it's finished, I'll post it in the fan-fiction threads. If anyone wants a bit of a "teaser" just tell me. I'll shoot ya a PM with the first couple of scenes in it.

Just your average day in your typical bank, deposit this, i'll take 300 out. The guards just stand around talking while giving people the eye and occasionally putting their hand on their guns just to see how people would react from a distance.

Seeing that something caught his partner's eye he turned and glanced at the man who just walked in. Gloria is not a very nice woman most of the time. If she doesn’t like you, she’s going to be straightforward, in-your-face merciless about it. She has a sharp tongue and leaves a sense of bitterness on those she condescends. Sometimes, she’s thought of as a person without an emotional soul, but she does have a softer side. She is capable of being kind-hearted and benevolent -- when it deems appropriate to her. She will only show her fun-loving demeanor to those she likes, and that’s not a lot of people.

She believes that human beings are weak but are capable of strengthening themselves. Her judgment of people is based on their “true colors”, how they’re really like, known or hidden, and their real motives. Whenever she makes mistakes, she acknowledges them and attempts to correct them, though sometimes she’s stubborn. She never gives up, even when everything is against her, and would prefer to die fighting should it ever come to that scenario. At times, this gets her into trouble when she’s dealing with the wrong people; she’s too prideful to run and fight another day. Over a thousand years ago, during a war between the angels and the demons, a male demon named Cyrus fell in love with a female angel named Teresa. Because relationships between angels and demons were forbidden, they escaped the war and descended upon the planet Earth, where Teresa gave birth to the first twilight, Gloria Espiritu, which in Spanish means “Glorious Spirit”.

From her mother, she inherited the element of light, and from her father the element of darkness. She has one white angel wing and one black demon wing. Growing up, she was taught how to read and write, but her general intelligence is no higher than the average human being. She knows enough to get by in life and learns quickly. Ever since she was young, she was a naturally gifted gunner, and she gained the ability to use her elemental powers as ammunition. She was unique, and some were unsure about her because of this. Many were angry because she was the child of a taboo, so they attempted to kill her several times. Fortunately, she was able to fend for herself.

Because of the dangers, they were forced to constantly move from place to place on Earth. This gave Gloria the opportunity to see the entire world and its inhabitants. She also took interest in human beings, studying and observing them from afar because her parents never allowed her to interact with them. One night in Mexico City, she was drawn to a musical concert and became intrigued by the lovely sounds. She took it too far when she bumped into a young man named Dmitri, and she was surprised that he wasn’t afraid of her. In secrecy they spent the days and nights together, getting to know one another better, and then they fell in love.

Then, a horrible day came. Demons from the universe invaded the planet and attacked the inhabitants. Thousands of humans were killed, and one of them was Dmitri when he protected Gloria. “Tell me I’ll always be in your heart...” She tried to revive him, but it was no use. She helped the surviving humans fight off the demons in the area, and then gave her deceased lover a proper burial. If his loss wasn’t bad enough, however, she flew home and found her mother and father, killed by one of the demon generals named Renjin. She attempted to fight him to no avail when he almost killed her. He was about to rip her angel wing off when humans rushed in and forced him to retreat. She vowed to get revenge, for her parents and her love.

A few centuries passed since the incident and Gloria mastered her fighting skill with guns. She custom-made her own twin set of magnums, one white-silver and the other black-silver, and they became her primary weapons since. She also trained herself on agility, seeing as her physical strength wasn’t very good, so she had to rely on speed. She became capable of transfusing her elementals’ energy into ammunition for her guns, as well as cast light and dark spells. Protecting Earth and all living things upon it, she became known as the Twilight Goddess, a hero to the people, yet only a select few people knew her true identity. The pains of loss and regret caused her to become colder, merciless and sharp-tongued, afraid to show her softer side much because of weaknesses.

Traveling to Rome, Italy, Gloria came upon a shop with human-size dolls. While looking over their designed, she noticed a shock of pink hair moving in one of the back rooms. She followed the figure until they came face-to-face, surprised at her discovery: a living, breathing doll. “I am Rosa. What is your command?” Gloria didn’t know what to say. The owner of the shop entered the room and was upset that Rosa was wandering around without his permission, and he beat on her. Disgusted, Gloria shoved him off and he immediately called the police. She took Rosa’s hand and ran off with her. The doll was so confused, but she didn’t seem to react positively or negatively to the situation. “You’re free to do what you want. Don’t be afraid.” However, Rosa wanted to go along with Gloria. She allowed her company and they traveled together.

“She continues to be our protection, even when apocalypse is everlasting.”

Gloria has a knack for guns. Any kind of firearm she picks up she will naturally master in a few days, a few hours if the situation if desperate. She possesses the elemental powers of light and darkness. Her powers can either be used in the form of ammunition for her guns, or in the form of spells. Light is more-so for the purpose of defense and healing, while darkness is for offense, although at times it can be used the other way around (depending on strengths and weaknesses, the balance). While the power of one of those two elements alone is very limited, when they are combined together, she can cause massive destruction. However, she must balance the two elements in order for that kind of power to emerge. The balance is the energy for light and darkness in combination, and she gathers them through her wings. If one element falls off the scale, the other element is weakened. This occurs when there is not enough light or darkness in the area she’s in, real or artificial, or her wings are severed. Her wings give her the ability to fly and they are capable of slow regeneration. In the air, her speed is five times her ground speed.

When it comes to physical strength, Gloria is flawed. She wouldn’t be able to push Superman if he had his feet planted firmly on the ground. Without her wings, she cannot fly and her elemental powers are cut in half until the slow regeneration (takes up to 30-60 minutes depending on her power level) is complete. If her elemental powers fall out of a good balance, her attack and defense strengths decrease rapidly. She is also prone to melee range fighting. (See Powers for more information on her weaknesses.)

Supporting Characters:

Gloria doesn’t have a lot of friends because of her personality. However, one friend she is “motherly” towards is the pink-haired, living female doll, Rosa. She is trying to teach her how to express emotions, although it is a very difficult task when she doesn’t understand what emotions are. The doll cannot physically feel (differences of temperature, pleasure and pain, etc).

I have been writing Gloria (originally named Athena) ever since my freshmen year in high school (I graduated in 2006, so that somewhat gives you my age range). She first started as a supernatural version of me, but soon I worked on her character development, storyline involvement and personality changes. She became very different from me with a couple exceptions. When I was introduced to electronic federations (e-fed), she became human to apply to the rules, and she stayed human for two years. Now that I’m retired from e-fedding, I brought her back to the supernatural realm and am very excited to write her with inhuman powers again. It’s fun to play non-humanistic characters! Seeing as I want to be a writer for one of my careers, I plan to write a few novels about Gloria, and so I wish to gather ideas and improvements through the RPG’s and the character she is involved with.

Her fingers massaged her temples, trying to calm a roaring beast in the phase of morning. Throwing her arms up slowly, she stretched her limbs, bending forward to touch her toes. On her back were two, large slits, parallel to one another.

She climbed out of the bed, bare feet familiarizing themselves with the smooth carpet once again. Step by step, she made her way over to the curtains and reached out with a hand, gentle fingers grabbing hold of one side and pushing it outward. Her other hand quickly came up to shield her eyes from the intruding light, taking a moment to allow re-focus of her pupils. Her shielding hand then fell at her side, letting the spheres search the environment. Her other hand came to the lock on the window, a satisfying click sounding before she swung the windows open.

For a couple of hours now the cars packed in to the complex in celebration of young Yuri's fifteenth birthday. But it was also another special day as a year ago Hideki Ichi ended the long Yakuza wars and united the gangs under his leadership. Yuri drank saki and cursed at all the guests coming in occasionally tossing a bottle down at them. This day wasn't about her and she hated not being the center of attention. Her butler came in after a few knocks just avoiding a bottle aimed at his head.

"So sorry, your father requests your presense."

"You can tell him his obedient daughter will be down as soon as I freshen up."

Smartly the butler leaves facing Yuri in case any other objects fly his way. Looking in her mirror Yuri could she just how mad she really was. No matter what she did she'd never be the center of attention, be the boss of bosses. It was Japanese tradition to pass down leadership to the male heir and that meant her little brother would inherit all of this. Putting on a fake smile she made her way down to the party welcoming guests as is expected on her.

"Yuri." Her father coming face to face with her trying to mask his anger.

"I'm sorry father." Yuri says with a blank expression. "I just wanted to make sure I looked nice enough for your guests."

Whatever mask there was it was gone as Hideki leaned in close to Yuri. "Don't play games with me girl, you may be my daughter but if you test me in front of our guests I'll have your head on a plate."

The owner of the shop entered the room and was upset that Rosa was wandering around without his permission, and he beat on her. Disgusted, Gloria shoved him off and he immediately called the police. She took Rosa’s hand and ran off with her. The doll was so confused, but she didn’t seem to react positively or negatively to the situation. “You’re free to do what you want. Don’t be afraid.” However, Rosa wanted to go along with Gloria. She allowed her company and they traveled together.

“She continues to be our protection, even when apocalypse is everlasting.”

Powers (Be Specific):

Gloria has a knack for guns. Any kind of firearm she picks up she will naturally master in a few days, a few hours if the situation if desperate. She possesses the elemental powers of light and darkness. Her powers can either be used in the form of ammunition for her guns, or in the form of spells. Light is more-so for the purpose of defense and healing, while darkness is for offense, although at times it can be used the other way around (depending on strengths and weaknesses, the balance). While the power of one of those two elements alone is very limited, when they are combined together, she can cause massive destruction. However, she must balance the two elements in order for that kind of power to emerge. The balance is the energy for light and darkness in combination, and she gathers them through her wings. If one element falls off the scale, the other element is weakened. This occurs when there is not enough light or darkness in the area she’s in, real or artificial, or her wings are severed. Her wings give her the ability to fly and they are capable of slow regeneration. In the air, her speed is five times her ground speed.

Weaknesses:

When it comes to physical strength, Gloria is flawed. She wouldn’t be able to push Superman if he had his feet planted firmly on the ground. Without her wings, she cannot fly and her elemental powers are cut in half until the slow regeneration (takes up to 30-60 minutes depending on her power level) is complete. If her elemental powers fall out of a good balance, her attack and defense strengths decrease rapidly. She is also prone to melee range fighting. (See Powers for more information on her weaknesses.)

Supporting Characters:

Gloria doesn’t have a lot of friends because of her personality. However, one friend she is “motherly” towards is the pink-haired, living female doll, Rosa. She is trying to teach her how to express emotions, although it is a very difficult task when she doesn’t understand what emotions are. The doll cannot physically feel (differences of temperature, pleasure and pain, etc).

Three reasons why you have chosen that character:

I have been writing Gloria (originally named Athena) ever since my freshmen year in high school (I graduated in 2006, so that somewhat gives you my age range). She first started as a supernatural version of me, but soon I worked on her character development, storyline involvement and personality changes. She became very different from me with a couple exceptions. When I was introduced to electronic federations (e-fed), she became human to apply to the rules, and she stayed human for two years. Now that I’m retired from e-fedding, I brought her back to the supernatural realm and am very excited to write her with inhuman powers again. It’s fun to play non-humanistic characters! Seeing as I want to be a writer for one of my careers, I plan to write a few novels about Gloria, and so I wish to gather ideas and improvements through the RPG’s and the character she is involved with.

Pools of hazel green opened to the real world.

Today was more quiet than usual. She sat up on her bed, the blankets wrinkling to her movements. Strands of her dark brown hair fell in front of her shoulders and lightly shadowed her face. Her fingers massaged her temples, trying to calm a roaring beast in the phase of morning. Throwing her arms up slowly, she stretched her limbs, bending forward to touch her toes. On her back were two, large slits, parallel to one another.

She climbed out of the bed, bare feet familiarizing themselves with the smooth carpet once again. Step by step, she made her way over to the curtains and reached out with a hand, gentle fingers grabbing hold of one side and pushing it outward. Her other hand quickly came up to shield her eyes from the intruding light, taking a moment to allow re-focus of her pupils. Her shielding hand then fell at her side, letting the spheres search the environment. Her other hand came to the lock on the window, a satisfying click sounding before she swung the windows open.

Bathing in the warmth of the sun, the rays lightening her dark blue Levis, her soft caramel skin engulfing the energy, she smiled and folded her arms in front of her breasts. The round pendant that dangled around her neck glimmered with a silver shine. She took it in a hand and held it comfortably, her thumb fiddling with the side and opening it. Tilting her head down a little, her eyes examined the black and white photo of a young man with a gentlemen’s smile. She brought the pendant up to her face and placed a butterfly kiss on the photograph.

“You’re still in my heart, Dmitri. You always will be...”

Her head snapped up, hearing the sound of a scream nearby. It resonated with pain and grief. She narrowed her eyes and realized this was why it was too quiet. Turning around, she raced to her closet and opened it, putting on a white blouse. On the back of the blouse, there were openings that aligned to the slits. She slipped her sketches platforms on and went back to the large, open window. Climbing onto the edge from a high floor of the sky scraper of a building, she let herself fall, her eyes staring at the ground as speed and gravity worked in unison.

Wings of heaven and hell bloomed from the slits of her back, and they gave her the gift to fly.

Four years ago: Ichi compound just outside of Tokyo Japan

For a couple of hours now the cars packed in to the complex in celebration of young Yuri's fifteenth birthday. But it was also another special day as a year ago Hideki Ichi ended the long Yakuza wars and united the gangs under his leadership. Yuri drank saki and cursed at all the guests coming in occasionally tossing a bottle down at them. This day wasn't about her and she hated not being the center of attention. Her butler came in after a few knocks just avoiding a bottle aimed at his head.

"So sorry, your father requests your presense."

"You can tell him his obedient daughter will be down as soon as I freshen up."

Smartly the butler leaves facing Yuri in case any other objects fly his way. Looking in her mirror Yuri could she just how mad she really was. No matter what she did she'd never be the center of attention, be the boss of bosses. It was Japanese tradition to pass down leadership to the male heir and that meant her little brother would inherit all of this. Putting on a fake smile she made her way down to the party welcoming guests as is expected on her.

"Yuri." Her father coming face to face with her trying to mask his anger.

"I'm sorry father." Yuri says with a blank expression. "I just wanted to make sure I looked nice enough for your guests."

Whatever mask there was it was gone as Hideki leaned in close to Yuri. "Don't play games with me girl, you may be my daughter but if you test me in front of our guests I'll have your head on a plate."

Believe me, it's not a matter of how much experience you have. Even people like Master Bruce or Byrd Man couldn't get second characters right away.

This RPG requires so much character development that it's best to focus on one character for a while, y'know?

Well, this RPG has been slow recently, but almost all of the RPG's have been slow right now - save for the DC RPG. Maybe it's just that time of year.
