I have to disagree with Paradoxium. I knew quite a few Asian girls and a lot of them went as far away as socially inept guys as one could.

In terms of Western girls whether be Asian, White, Hispanic etc. in mostly the same social classes, they are pretty much the same imo.

I was reading last night on the gossip blog ONTD about the "Megan Wants A Millionaire" self-professed "womanizer" contestant who had killed his wife and stuffed her body into a suitcase. He even went as far as cutting off her fingers and ripping out her teeth so she couldn't be ID'd. (He didn't know that breast implants had serial numbers - they managed to identify her because of them.) And it made me even sadder to read the comments below the post, when quite a few members piped up about knowing someone who was physically abused or even killed by their husbands or boyfriends. :csad: It made me thankful for my socially-awkward but understanding bf.These guys I say they are 6-7s in terms of look scale, have pretty good jobs or on their way towards it (doctors, engineers, accountants). Decently groomed but socially awkward with girls. They are more goody-two-shoe than me for sure.

I don't doubt you or your friends (less judgemental), I am simply speaking from experience and observation of myself and other guys. I dish out some trends, how people make of this, is up to them. I assume people are smart enough to know this does not apply in every circumstance.

But on another note, the whole bad boy persona still works on any types of girls for the most part. I attest to it from experience heh :o. I am talking about asian girls too (and some pretty good two shoe ones too; middleclass and not proles). Why? I don't know or care, but it really works heh.

I am not saying that asian girls have none, I am saying they are more forgiving of some social miscues. And this is only more applicable for ones that are not completely westernized. They do seem to be more overt in their interest if they are interested. Whereas a more American girl likes to "play games" and feign disinterest. "Bananas" are pretty much the same as any normal westerner.

Eh, I don't think it's purposely playing hard to get or doing any of that stuff, it's just knowing that people have more to their life to chasing tail. That their life will go on even if you aren't in it, but hey, if you want to be along for the ride, then hop on.

Yea, in terms of my internal scale. I do not account for grooming. At most is if the guy is more fit. So if Guy A was once fit and now fat, his fit version would score slightly better. But hair gel, no hair gel, better clothes or not does not equate. This is also how I see it with girls (I am pretty good at visualizing them without makeup). So say if the girl is a tom boy and does not wear much makeup, I can still qualify her as pretty looking or not. Although there are instances where I might find someone more attractive with or without glasses.

I am just saying those guys weren't Homer Simpsons with ludicrous expectations. I admit they are no Adonis either. Just average actually.

There have actually been studies that say most relationships involve two people who are about the same on the attractiveness scale (as deemed by a sample of people dictated by the study) but think of their partner as more attractive than they are. :funny:

I think these Asian girls are comparatively more attractive looking than any other girls they had any shot with. Like 7.5 AF / 6 M type of pairing, while they had trouble keeping on a 6.5-7 (Non-Asian) Female.

You have a REALLY good opportunity here for an easy way to ask her out. She will likely be flattered that you remember her, for one thing. Once you approach her to say "Hi, remember me? etc" you can ask her if she'd like to go somewhere to catch up and talk about childhood memories, and what's been going on in your lives since she moved.

Just don't go overboard if there is a girl you do like is all I'm saying. Don't follow her into the smoking area especially if you don't smoke in an effort to talk to her. If you are already out there, and she joins you, that's different. It's called subtly.

We went dutch. And I don't know if it was just casual dinner or a date. I think if she calls or texts, I hang out with her, but I know I don't feel like starting anything. So basically, if she wants to do something...fine. But I ain't gonna make a effort to setting dates up.

Yeah, pretty much. A college friend is 1/8th Native American, and she managed to get some sort of financial aid since 1/8 is the lowest you can be and still get scholarships. :funny: 1/16 doesn't count anymore.

But what you're missing is the self-esteem aspect of it all. For an overweight girl (yes, I am slightly overweight, not uncomfortably so but just enough that my self-esteem is greatly impacted). You have no idea what it's like to walk down the street and see people who you think 'if only I had that person's figure, I would feel so much better about myself.' My weight, or my perception of it, limits me in so many ways, both personally, and professionally. I am an actress; the instant connotation is that I must be tiny and exceptionally beautiful, but it is not so, and there are times when I would give anything to have the chances my more 'type-able' peers do when being considered for roles.

Yes Erz, but don't forget about the one child policy and what it has done to the male/female ratio for east asian (well mostly chinese - but you get the idea).
The ratio isn't THAT skewed. In 2007, it was 51.53% male, 48.47% female according to Wikipedia. Of course in hard numbers it seems like a lot more - males outnumber females by 41 million. But it isn't like 70:30 or anything like that.

I bet it's the distribution of genders as well - people could have more children if they could pay a fee or if they lived in rural areas and their first child was a girl. (I have other things to say about the Chinese preference for boys, but that's for another day. :funny: )

But what you're missing is the self-esteem aspect of it all. For an overweight girl (yes, I am slightly overweight, not uncomfortably so but just enough that my self-esteem is greatly impacted). You have no idea what it's like to walk down the street and see people who you think 'if only I had that person's figure, I would feel so much better about myself.' My weight, or my perception of it, limits me in so many ways, both personally, and professionally. I am an actress; the instant connotation is that I must be tiny and exceptionally beautiful, but it is not so, and there are times when I would give anything to have the chances my more 'type-able' peers do when being considered for roles.
