Hey guys, since the first fantasy football league filled up before many of us could bat an eye, I brought up the idea of starting a second league for those who missed the chance to join the first. Well, I just made it on Yahoo. It will simply be called SHHFFL Second League. There are twenty spots, so if you want to join go to:

http://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/f1/60783

edit: Here is the actual league:

Bored's Heavily-Armed Lemurs
Green Lantern's Lantern's Light
Kaboom's Poopn Monkies
KALEL114's Eternia Grayskulls
Mister J's Sioux City Sapsuckers
The Lumberjack's Take Skin of Pig, Go Now Win!
The Dude's Thunder Chickens
Darth Rekal's Sith City Stranglers
darkdonnie's Percy Lumpkins
Slipknot's Slipknots
Matt's Badly Jokers
Badgerphil's Benevolent Badgers
Colossus24's Pacmen
zenile's Dallas Doombots
Spider-Fan930's Spider-Fan930s
Excel's BlackNasty Mofos
Wizards (who belongs to this team?)
Kaleb's Crusaders

As of when I'm editing this, Lumberjack has the best team name.

By the way, I may change the draft date to an earlier one, because I may not be able to be present at the one currently scheduled. I let the auto-draft put half of my team together last year, and it didn't go well.

You NFL.
Us AFL.

The American Football League (AFL) was a professional league of American football (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_football) that operated from 1960 to 1969. The AFL operated in direct competition with the more established National Football League (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Football_League) (NFL). Initially viewed as inferior, the AFL began attracting top talent from college and the NFL by the mid-1960s, well before the "Common Draft" which began in 1967. In 1966, a merger (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AFL-NFL_Merger) between the two leagues was announced, but was not finalized until 1970 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1970_NFL_season). During its final two years of existence, the AFL won two upset victories over the NFL in Super Bowl III (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Bowl_III) and IV (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Bowl_IV), the former considered one of the biggest upsets in American sports history. When the merger took place, all ten AFL franchises became part of the merged league's American Football Conference (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Football_Conference), while the league retained the NFL name.

It's Ok if you are threatened by us. You can talk all the smack you want. I will still be here to type, Bump until our league is full. Actually, you're helping to keep this thread alive, so thank you. Keep it up! You signed up for the first league before us..... Gold star for you!

Make sure that everyone tests thier system well before the draft. You can use the link provided on our league home page.

Your live online draft is set for Sat Aug 18 5:00pm CDT [ Add to My Calendar ], which is 2 days, 7 hours, and 14 minutes from now (test your system). Please arrive at least 10 minutes early since your draft will start promptly at the assigned time. You can rank your players up until 45 minutes before your draft.

You might have to update Java.

Johnson, he's going to sign eventually...

maybe...

I'm from KC, and there's talk of letting him hold out into the season, cause they are probably writing this season off.

The key is Croyle and Huard. If Croyle gets the starting QB job and they want to see what they got, then they won't be very worried about LJ.

And, judging by the game against Miami, they want Croyle to win the job. The OC give him much better plays then Huard.

Anyone know how hurt Travis Henry is?

just a sprained knee, I expect him to be out for the rest of the preseason games .

Kaleb
08-19-2007, 11:31 AM
*** IRVING, Texas -- Denver running back Travis Henry sprained his left knee in the
second quarter of the Broncos' preseason game against Dallas on Saturday night.

Henry ran for 25 yards on 10 carries and lost a fumble on Denver's 7. He gained a
yard on first-and-goal from the 3 on the play he was injured. Henry later walked
to the locker room with an ice pack on his knee.

[[[[[[[[[[[ OUR VIEW ]]]]]]]]]]]

There isn't a guy in the league I've been higher on this year than Travis Henry so
obviously this one has our complete attention.

It wasn't an "ugly" knee injury by any stretch. No weird bending or anything like
that you could see. He plowed forward into the pile and came up limping. He limped
off the field at a quick pace and was able to put plenty of weight on the leg.
Although to be fair, that doesn't mean he's OK. We've seen it before where players
walk off with a knee injury.

Our Footballguy Sigmund Bloom attended the Denver post game press conference and the
news sounded more optimistic. The team thinks it's a 1st degree sprain of his MCL.
Coach Mike Shanahan was asked if he thought Henry would be ready for Week 1 of the
regular season and Shanahan said that not only did he think Henry would be ready
for Week 1, he might be ready for the next preseason game.

Obviously, this is a preliminary report from the locker room on Saturday night after
the game but it sounds encouraging. We'll know more here soon.

Mike Bell and Cecil Sapp have been working behind Henry. Bell has a hip strain so
he's not exactly healthy. And Sapp has been the guy looking impressive in camp. If
Henry were to be limited, it's tough to say right now whether it would be Bell or
Sapp to benefit the most. It's likely both would have a role. But for now, let's hope
Henry is OK.

Also, here are, as of now, the Heavily-Armed Lemurs for 2008!

QB: Peyton Manning (Mark Brunell)
RB: Ladell Betts, Reuben Droughns (Tony Hunt)
WR: Reggie Wayne, Brandon Marshall (Matt Jones, Ashley Lelie, Reche Caldwell)
TE: Tony Gonzalez (George Wrightster)
K: Robbie Gould (Joe Nedney)
DEF: Baltimore (Kansas City)

A definite need for better RBs, but for the most part, I'm gonna have a good season.

Jones-Drew looked like a good pickup before the season and Lewis just had a monster game last week. It's not a horrible roster, everybody just fell down on you this week.

The problem with an 18-team league is that there's really not a lot of roster movement to be made beyond the draft. I'm digging for unknown sleepers left and right.
