For those of you who dont know, Siegal walked out of "Clerks 2" 40 minutes into it. It was a special screening for critics. When Randel was ordering up the donkey show, thats when Siegal walked out. He was screaming over the dialouge as he was walking, something along the lines of "WELL, TIME TO GO! I HAVENT WALKED OUT OF A MOVIE IN THIRTY (curse word) YEARS!" all the way to the exit.

I'll admit, some of Kevin Smith's stuff is funny, and Joel Siegal had no business walking out on his movie, but people praise Smith like he's a god. The stuff he writes is only decent at best, and he doesn't even write that much. You can't compare him with someone like Mike Nelson who consistantly cranks out hilarious writing at a rediculous pace. Just watch MST3000 or check out his new Rifftrax.

I feel that Smith is overrated, and his hardcore fans really need to take a good look at his work before defending him so brutally and in this case, so tastelessy.

Keven Smith came across as a whiney ***** when he complained at Joe Seagal on that radio show for... what, 10 minutes or more? It was like, we got the point about 10 minutes ago, Kevin, Joe was wrong for talking loudly as he left the screening. So ****ing what. You would think Kevin Smith and the radio host were grilling a terrorist suspect!

And now we have these idiots making these idiot jokes about Joe now that he's dead, like actually did something really wrong to deserve it.

This saddens me, because a) it's unfortunate when anyone gets taken too early by cancer, and b) I had a rather shameful row with him last year around this time. It was petty then, but it certainly feels a million times worse now that he's died.

I'm glad Smith isn't saying anything tasteless about his death(like the stupid fans are). But even so, I still think Kevin Smith is overrated and I don't like much of his work.

I've never seen a movie of his I didn't like (though I haven't seen all of his movies), and overall, I think he's just a smart and funny guy.

I know it's wrong, but I found some of those comments to be funny, especially the one about walking out on the funeral.

But it was good to see Kevin Smith take a much classier approach and express his regret over the loss.

Keep in mind that people on Smith's Myspace aren't ALL Smith fans. They could've just as easily been people who knew nothing about Joel Siegal.

And also keep in mind the fact that it was them...Not Kevin himself.

As the Clerks 2 DVD states, and it goes for Smith himself as well...
