I was just wondering if anyone else was considering nothing has happend for like 4 issues. I pretty much hate the story now but I caint stop looking, you know like a train wreck...I wish some one would die already( in the comic I mean)

Loeb's Wolverine arc has been really enjoyable, in my opinion. It's more of a mind**** and lesson in genetics then it is high octane action. I like where he's going and can't wait for the final payoff.

No, we actually have been getting answers, and not just about Wolverine, either. Loeb did a short interview recently about his final issue, and promised everything would be answered.

thats good anyway.
i liked origin, but it left me with more questions. i'm glad to hear that some of the loose ends will be tied up. being shrouded in mystery is great for a while, but i feel that for a character to really evolve you need to know more about their past. does that make sense?

If your mother was really dead, you'd have to be a "special" person to spread the word on a message board for comics. So, in that regard, your mother was right. You are "special".

Now, on the off chance that your mother is in fact dead, then I'm sorry. Death is a ***** of a thing.

I haven't been reading Wolverine, so what's the big deal with Loeb's run?

T'Challa and Storm call Wolverine to Wakanda upon the discovery of some new fossils. It turns out that some people may have evolved from canines as opposed to primates. The implication is that Logan, along with Wild Child, Sabretooth, Thornn and the rest of the wolf-like mutants could be evidence of this. Logan's also having dreams about wolf-men and ancient Rome that he's not been able to decipher yet. Also, we learn that Sabretooth was present at the time of Logan's Weapon X experiments and that a third person was there by the name of Romulus. Romulus, if you didn't know was one half of the twin duo who built Rome after being raised by a mother wolf.

Agree, I think Loeb is scrapping the bottom of the barrel with this story.

I mean whats left to write about Wolverine? He's been a miner, sailor, bouncer, CIA/FBI/Department H agent, he's been in WWII,Vietnam, most likely Korea and was active during the coldwar, he was a samuri, a bar owner, a husband, a father, has/had amnesia, been to space, screwed half the females of the Marvel U, been a horseman of Apocalypse, been physically injured in every single was the f--ker been vaporized and regenerated from a drop of blood!

Really what's left? I know he's really a evolved wolf!! :whatever:

I'm currently passing on both Wolverine books. I liked Origins at first, but it started getting old around 6 or 7 issues in. I keep trying to go back, but I just get bored. And the horrible chronological issues with it against the rest of the marvel universe is just a major turn off for me. Oh, and the art sucks in my opinion. I don't like artists who make people look like their eyes are about to pop out of their skulls.

As for the main Wolverine Title, I stopped reading it shortly before his original series ended. I came back for the Return of the Native story through Enemy of the State, but stuff after that kinda got me bored. I read the Civil War tie ins hit and miss, but Ramos' art killed me and I couldn't enjoy it. I liked the art on Loeb's first issue but the story wasn't strong enough to keep me, and though I keep trying to buy it, other comics come first. I was annoyed at seeing Feral and Thornn again, since they were depowered. Has that flaw been addressed yet?

Overall, I think Wolverine's overexposure over the past 5 to 10 years (give or take) has really turned me off on the character. I don't mind him in a team book, but I don't care enough about him anymore to buy one of his own for subpar storylines, let alone 2.

wolf1023
07-08-2007, 11:34 PM
eh so far in his current title, its not so much the evolution of a wolfman thing that bothers me its that every issue promises answers and they are never answered and I get left with bigger and bigger clif hangers which piss me off...I dont care much about his overexposure for the past few years. He wouldnt be overexposed if he wasent liked.

Wolverine is still not appealing to me, though. Maybe if I still weren't reading X-Men, I'd consider it. But given how good the X-Men comics are looking and the sheer Wolverine overload that I get from reading about him in more than two or three comics at a time, I can't buy his series.
