So sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.....it's Cable internet and cuts off from time to time right at the Modem....and it used to be fine.....My only theroy is that this could be from multiple splits in the cable line...would splitting it do that?

Get a new cable? Or a new modem?

I had the same problem. Do you have a cable tv in your room?

Yeah.....I've got a coupleSplits.

There's a Split where it comes into the house (One goes upstairs and the other to the basement (Unused)) and then there's a Split in the living room (one goes to the TV and the other to the Modem) then the one to the TV splits again and part shoos down the hall where it splits again, into two bedrooms, one of which is currently unused.

You think that is what causes the problem?

Its what caused mine when I had the same problems.
After 3 splitters, we ended up having the internet guy come and put in another cable outlet in the wall because the splitter didn't split the cable properly.

make sure you use the high bandwidth made for digital signal splitters(use high quality ones with low loss signal). Try to use an active(not passive)signal booster it may help. I myself have my cable split 4 times(3 for video 1 for cable modem) and everything works like a charm.
