Just an idea for a change to the forum..
Remove the post counts.. i see that some people get a bit rude to people with low post count, for no reason..
I havent seen it lately, but now and then some people act like high post count = smarter..
so worth a thought?

In my experience the whole Oldbie = smarter argument usually has more to with join date than post count, either way the post count fits in with the Hype's user group settings for avvy's,sigs etc.

People will find something to pick something to pick people apart with. Getting rid of post counts isn’t going to do anything.

As way of an example, take this post: We got it the first time. :o

Yeah, I'm gonna pick on people no matter if we have a post count or not.
In fact, I absolutely hate people who have all caps in their User names. Drives me crazy!

Oh you're one to talk!:cmad:
I hate numbers in usernames. What's the point of them?!
Yeah getting rid of post accounts is a stupid thing to do. Besides, not all of us with high accounts are mean. And the higher post accounts define our nerdiness.:o:p

I had that idea ages ago--hide the post count and join date from the thread view [however, you'd still see them on the user's profile], as well as setting up avatar sizes and such by join date as well as post count. Mirko shot them both down.

Did he call you a noob and make fun of your post count? :csad:

Since I easily sextuple his count, I'd think not. :(

i'd say set a uniform avatar size and let's have everyone have similar sized ones.
the various sized ones all over the place just make the forum pages look untidy, it should be standardised like it was before.
what was wrong with everyone having a 75 x 75?

:oFor the record, i would like to highlight the genius of this post and how it was overlooked.
it's from a concert done by milli vanilli where it was highlighted that they weren't singing live and they were actually lip synching to a track.
these lines were said over and over as the lp skipped, highlighting it was a broken record.
similar to this removal of post count.
very dark humour indeed and highly funny. You should all bow down to saladdin's greatness.

A Milli Vanilli reference? Pure. Funking. Genius.
It does kinda suck that that November Rain had to explain it, though.
That episode of Behind the Music is still my all-time fave.

most places i go do 100x100 but the general idea is cool- the problem is that there will be less cool animated icons :o

Oh, you.
it's probably my second favourite post on here...
heck, i think you actually hold my first favourite post as well...
i remember weren't you talking to someone about how peter parker's motivations to letting the killer go in the first film was vanity based (it's someone else's job) rather than revenge based (getting back the announcer for not paying him) and that is how they screwed up the character right from the start?
that's been my favourite post on this board so far and i'm fairly sure it was you who said it.

I remembering arguing that and my position being that they tried to give Peter an unnecessary justification for letting the robber go, rather than Peter's lack of action being because of his own hubris/apathy as is traditional to the story, which was lame.:down
I didn't realize you were a fan, Puddles.
