This is to post anything related or about Leonardo Dicaprio. I see him as a future legend in Hollywood one that will get his name on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, win the Oscar, and get the Lifetime Tribute Award. He has made me a believer and a fan since what he should have won for an Oscar anyways Oscar nominated performance as the famous Howard Hughes in The Aviator.

Well this is the same guy that actually said Sub Mariner was a terrible character yet he still has an ongoing mini series and remains a very popular and relevant character in Marvel Comics. He must really live in his own world where in it Leonardo Dicaprio is a very bad actor and Sub Mariner is a terrible character that died out in easily when in reality it's the opposite for both.

Well this is the same guy that actually said Sub Mariner was a terrible character yet he still has an ongoing mini series and remains a very popular and relevant character in Marvel Comics. He must really live in his own world where in it Leonardo Dicaprio is a very bad actor and Sub Mariner is a terrible character that died out in easily when in reality it's the opposite for both.

Then don't watch his movies for the love of God and make people mad that actually like him as an actor. It's common sense if something annoys you and you have controll over not to watch it then don't watch it.
i've only seen Leo in Catch Me If You Can cause i'm a fan of Tom Hanks...and i gotta tell you...he was good but annyoing and out of place in alot of it...it should have been someone different playing the part

Truer words have never been spoken although it's a bit ahead saying the best actor working in Hollywood but one of the top leading men A List and money wise along with newcomer since POTC Johnny Depp also joining Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Jim Carrey,George Clooney and many other Alisters.
So with George Clooney being close to the Clark Gable of our time I think Leo is not like an actor from the past but is making a new one hopefully that will have another future one compared to him.

I saw his what should have won an oscar anyways amazing performance in the Aviator as the legendary Aviator Howard Hughes. He really has made me a fan since I saw that and convinced he is one of the best not just a pretty face that Titanic had him mostly portrayed as. In hollywood it's hard to be in shape, have the looks, and be talented but Leo has all three.

Actually that accent was quite well done. It's an accent that isn't heard so often in film and is arguably pretty hard to master. It came off pretty well.

It didn't sound like him but it was him. He had to spent over 6 months just to master because it's not like an English accent which Americans can do easily.

I saw on Sportscenter that it was reported on Who's Now that Tom Brady is dating Leos ex Gisele Bundchen. If he doesn't win another Super Bowl within this next year maybe Gisele would move onto another athlete.

The Departed was the first and only time he has gone past good acting( and that was new to begin with), and it was because they tailored the role to him when he was cast, not because he did the work necessary to achieve acting greatness.
At this point, it's utterly ridiculous to say that he's going to match Brando. One needs only to look at what Brando managed to accomplish consistently for so many years to understand why. A handful of good performances and one great performance do not a legend make.
Environmentalism, while a nice perk of being famous, has jack **** to do with whether or not he's a good actor.
Titanic won all the Oscar's it won because the Academy would have lost credibility with the American Public had it not, it was not that good of a film.
Please stop considering yourself an expert when it comes to performance, you simply don't know enough about the craft to speak on it.

You're right, many people in the general public like to see him work. They go to see his movies, which means the movies he is in make more money, so producers/directors/casting directors cast him in anything they can get him in to increase the box office. It has nothing to do with whether he's a good actor or not.
And while he has avoided being type casted to the point of Hugh Grant, for example, he still winds up playing very similar characters, just thrown into different situations.
Does it really look like I'm assessing him in terms of awards? The fact that an actor hasn't won any Oscars doesn't mean he isn't a great actor, his work is what determines that. And of course Leo hasn't won a lifetime achievement award, he hasn't been in the game for long enough. Sean Connery JUST got his Lifetime Achievement Award.
Oh, and I hate to burst your bubble about the Walk of Fame, but you basically buy those slots.
ok . . . even though I don't lick his nuts like GR87 has done w/ this thread, I do feel that Leo is a pretty talented guy . . .
he gets a little more clout just for having worked w/ Scorcese 3 times (basically consecutively), and I don't think that's a fluke on Scorcese's part . . . he obviously knows talent . . .
and Leo does pretty consistently deliver some dynamic performances . . . he completely emerses himself in his roles . . . he's had some ****ty flicks too, but overall he's pretty solid.

i liked Leo up until Titanic when everyone started hating on him. not that i hated him too, but i felt he was TOO popular.
then Catch Me If You Can and Gangs of New York reassured me that he is, indeed, a good actor. i like most of his movies....he definitely has a great career ahead of him. i remember when i used to think he'd make a GREAT Anakin Skywalker...

I think he should help other actresses and actors break into Hollywood. Like I could see him in a romance movie with another big A lister and the female lead Lindsey Sloane. Actually Sub-Mariner doesn't have an ongoing. He has a rather cool 6 issue miniseries.

Yes I agree. Although I enjoyed how after he walked out and before the scene between her and the shrink ended that was officially the end of their unhealthy hostile negative relationship. After that it's officially they aren't each other throats, do get along, and it's a more friendly healthy harmonius postive relationship.
In both of these movies The Departed, and Blooddiamond he played challenging intense roles where he actually changes into being better especially when he tells Mady the reporter about how the diamonds work exactly.
In Revolutionary Road he is reunited with his Titanic costar and friend Kate Winslet. He was interviewed by Entertainment and he said they aren't going to be rekindling what was in Titanic it's more focused on both of them trying to survive and I can't remember other than the place start's I think starts with an S.

He has had movies that didn't do well at the box office but it was still an enjoyable movie with many redeming qualties. Other stars that have bad movies were some of the worst that didn't have a lot of redeming qualties like Kevin Costner in Waterworld, and the terrible Battlefield Earth with John Travolta.

Never seen it. I have seen him in the Beach and he was impressive. It didn't do well at the box office but Leo still had another amazing performance along with other decent acting and it seemed realistic along with it reminded me a lot of Survivor. Not to mention the movie actually had lots of redeming qualties while other big name stars have had movies that are just terrible unbearble suck at the box office and have hardly any redeming qualties. Like Battlefield Earth it was terrible and a box office bomb that it made 101 celebrity opps, hardly any redeming qualties, and the person that vacums theater was vacuming in it about 1 hour after the movie started because everyone left.

I would disagree with you on that. I am not saying complete resemblance but we do look alike. Brandon Routhe doesn't completly resemble Christopher Reeve but he does look like him.
