Adnan Ghalib may soon be flying home to the UK if Kevin Federline has anything to do with it. The former dancer, and father to Britney’s children, has launched a legal battle to stop Spears’ from seeing her new photographer boyfriend, it has been claimed.

It’s believed they are investigating his immigration status in a bid to send him packing. “Kevin’s team want him sent home, if he hasn’t got his papers in order. They also plan to bring Adnan before the court to explain why he took Britney into hiding when she really needed further medical attention”, revealed a source.

This would appear to be the first time Kevin is showing some true concern for his former wife. TMZ has confirmed that Britney Spears hopped a private jet and booked it to New York with new paparazzo boytoy Adnan Ghalib.

Spears left Van Nuys Aiport at 4:00 PM PT this afternoon. We're told Brit Brit, Adnan and one other male passenger were on the plane. The plane is about to land at Teterboro Airport in New Jersey. Next stop ... unknown.

TMZ has learned family members and professionals in Britney's life are working as a team to get her mental help -- either voluntarily or involuntarily -- for treatment of what appears to be a severe bipolar disorder.

We're told it's going to happen one way or the other, and fast. So far, Britney refuses to commit herself voluntarily, but the team is persisting.

Sources say they are considering "a number of options," some of which are "creative."

The most extreme option -- going to court and getting an order forcing Britney into in-patient treatment. That would be the last ditch effort.

If involuntary commitment is the only option, Brit must be picked up by cops -- again -- on a "5150," meaning she's a danger to herself or others. Then, while she's in the hospital, health care professionals can go to the County Public Guardian, who can then go to court and ask for what's called a "conservatorship." The conservator would then basically assume control of Brit's life.

If the judge grants the conservatorship, Brit could be involuntarily committed to a mental hospital. Again, that's not the only option and various alternatives are being discussed right now.

TMZ has learned that Monday's custody hearing could be one of the most important days in Britney Spears' life. We're told Brit must show and face the judge if she's got any hope of getting her kids back. Our sources tell us if she doesn't show, or is uncooperative, it could be curtains for her custody case.

What's more, police sources tell TMZ that Commissioner Scott Gordon will hear firsthand eyewitness accounts of last Thursday's breakdown from LAPD, firefighters and paramedics who were on scene. We're told they're not going to paint a pretty picture.

Britney's assistant and nanny were present during the standoff. At one point the assistant told the police that Britney had been "popping pills" all day. Her code for medication was "vitamins" and she repeatedly demanded, "Get me my vitamins!" Officers found a bottle of Prozac in her bedroom.

Sam Lutfi arrived and told officers that he and the others around Britney "knew this was coming for a long time," but didn't know how bad it would be.

The assistant also told cops that earlier in the day, Britney showed no concern about attending her deposition and would not heed her warnings to show up on time.

Sam told law enforcement that Britney had been extremely unstable and had recently purchased a house in Malibu on a whim, began moving furniture in and then changed her mind.

As for Jayden James, the reason cops took him to the hospital was because there was a small bruise on his leg. Britney insisted the bruise occurred on Kevin's watch. Police took Jayden to Cedars as a precautionary measure.

We're told police will testify about the insanity at Monday's custody hearing.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ the LAPD wrote up a crime report in connection with last week's standoff at Brit's home.

Sources say cops wrote a Child Endangering Report which is now under lock and key at the LAPD. Sources say this is a preliminary investigation report, meaning the LAPD can conduct further inquiry and possibly even arrest Spears if they determine a crime was committed. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ if Britney arrives at the courthouse tomorrow -- she's on her own. The Sheriff's Dept. has had it with her.

Sources tell us Britney has been "totally uncooperative" with the Sheriff's Department -- she had never worked with deputies by giving them information as to when she'll show, etc. We're told the Sheriff's Department has thrown up its hands and has no plans to assist her in getting in the building tomorrow. She'll have to find her own parking and navigate her way through the media crush.

Our sources say, however, if Britney works with her lawyer and the attorney drives her to court, they would be open to dealing with the lawyer to arrange her passage into the courthouse -- but that will be last-minute.

Sources tell us Brit's lawyers know Commissioner Scott Gordon expects Britney to address a number of issues surrounding the craziness at her home a week ago Thursday. In particular, commissioner Gordon wants Brit to explain why she violated the custody order by not turning the kids over to K-Fed's security guard at 7:00 that evening. The commissioner is also keenly interested in Britney's behavior that caused her to be placed on a 5150 hold at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

Britney's lawyers know if she does not attend tomorrow's hearing, the Commish almost certainly will extend the ban on visitation until the April trial.

The wild card, of course, is Britney herself. She hates appearing in court and it's certainly possibly she'll be a no show on Monday. TMZ will stream live video at the courthouse tomorrow, so watch and see if Brit appears!

Tormented Britney Spears has threatened to kill herself rather than let her parents force her into emergency psychiatric care, it was claimed last night.

The fallen star, 26, is believed to have made the chilling warning to a pal shortly before she fled the US to Mexico last week.

Pursued by photographers on an erratic car ride around Los Angeles, she is said to have shrieked down her phone: "They're not sending me to the nut house! No one can make me go if I don't want to go - and I ain't goin'." As the pal tried to calm her she ranted: "See that? I just went through another stop sign. See what you made me do? This follows a recent confrontation at her Beverly Hills home when the distressed Toxic singer was tied to a stretcher and taken to Cedars - Senai hospital under a Californian penal code allowing doctors to detain people they fear are a danger to themselves or others.

TMZ has learned that four paparazzi were arrested for reckless driving last night after chasing Britney Spears' car around Mission Hills, Calif. -- and four more were pulled over for driving crazazy-like.

Around 11:20 PM last night, according to law enforcement sources, police pulled over a total of eight vehicles driven by photogs, after they were observed driving evasively at a high rate of speed and making dangerous lane changes in and around Mission Hills. Four of the drivers were arrested.

X17 was on the scene, but not in trouble!, just a half hour ago when five photographers' cars were pulled over by police in front of the Beverly Hills Hotel -- Britney's inside.

The paps weren't speeding -- on the contrary, they weren't moving! The cops cited photographers for impeding the flow of traffic, according to our guys on the scene. According to People, the pop princess has been booked to host the Scandinavian Style Mansion's February event.

Dr. Drew Pinksy says that having a person committed isn’t as easy as it sounds.

Drew told PageSix that California law does not allow for Britney to be involuntarily committed for psychiatric treatment by her family.

His suggestion?

She needs to be arrested and have the judicial system order her into a mandated treatment program. If her family or her friends know she is engaging in illegal activities, they need to call the police and have her arrested. This is probably the only way she will ever get the help that she obviously so needs.

Adnan Ghalib, Brit's paparazzo pal, has just been in touch with TMZ, and he tells us he is not aware of any restraining order that has reportedly been filed against him by Britney.

According to online reports, last night, Brit's BFF Sam supposedly showed the order to two paparazzi. Adnan told us he didn't know anything about it and has been in Santa Barbara for the last two days. When asked if he and the popwreck had a fight, he said, "Everything is and was fine," but he's been out of town, and she's "been in the care of Sam."

Sam reportedly showed a photog the restraining order. The online report suggests Brit is mad because Adnan may be selling pics of her, but that's not grounds for a restraining order.

We're also told, Adnan and Sam are playing quien es mas macho over Britney.

At Saturday's champagne party, Brit revealed to our two photogs that she's preparing to shoot a new video for her next single, Hot as Ice and that she wants it to be "something new" and fresh!

The hearing is scheduled for tomorrow at 8:30 AM. Don't know if Brit and K-Fed will show, but it's certainly not out of the question.

We're told the depo, which ended just before 6:00 PM, covered a wide range of issues. Sources say Kaplan asked about the meds Brit takes, where she goes, what she does at home, what she drinks, and on and on.

Kaplan also asked Lutfi about his relationship with the photo agency X17 and specifically whether he and Brit have a financial deal where they help X17 get pics of Brit and in return get moolah. X17 has denied there's any deal.

We're told Kaplan asked Lutfi about his income and where he gets it, how he supports himself, etc. We're also told Kaplan asked him about six lawsuits in which he was reportedly sued. We're told Lutfi answered that most of those suits were against his father.

Spears, whose two sons are currently in the custody of ex-husband Kevin Federline, is said to have arrived at the neighborhood elementary school in Beverly Hills earlier this week, telling other parents she had come to collect her children Sean Preston, two, and Jayden James, one.

But when questioned further, the star allegedly changed her story.

A bystander tells Usmagazine.com, "She was just rambling and confused. She said, 'I'm here to pick up my kids.' But then she said, 'They aren't my kids; I have a new attorney, and I came to pick them up for her.' All I could think was, 'Who in their right mind would let her pick up their kids?'"

The witness goes on to add that the star's chain smoking, skimpy outfit and erratic behavior scared the children, insisting "some of the kids were freaked out".

Spears was eventually driven off alone after being escorted out of the school's back entrance, according to the website.

The star is currently locked in a bitter custody battle with former husband Federline. She was stripped of all her custody and visitation rights earlier this month following a string of bizarre incidents including an apparent breakdown which saw the star hospitalized under a mental health order.

The judge in Britney Spears' other court case -- the one for driving without a valid license back in August -- continued the case today for the last time. Superior Court Judge T.K Herman said if the legal matter is not resolved by February 20, it will go to trial.

TMZ has learned both sides are still working out a deal. We're told prosecutors wanted to put Brit on 12 months probation, but agreed to let go of probation if she agreed to pay the maximum fine of $3,000. Brit's lawyer, Michael Flanagan, won't accept those terms and wants the misdemeanor charge lowered to a fix-it ticket.
