I am not one. I do say that Bay and crew proubly will put him in the sequel though. Any one want to speculate how he will arrive. I say that even though I dont want it to happen. Jazz will come back, but he will be rebuilt as Hot Rod. Think about it, Ratchet or by some other means fixes him and his original form wasn't good enough for him seeing as how he was weak and he chooses a new faster form. He also chooses a new name and is still Primes second in command. THis could lead up to Prime being taken out of the picture(only speculation, I dont want this to happen) then Hot Rod taking over and becoming Rodimus. I say it could work.

My friend thought you meant the New Movie called Hot Rod, starring Adam Samberg. LOL.:woot

But seriously, it would be nice to see Hot Rod in TF2.

I think Hot Rod would be great in the sequel.

He'd be best used as an Autobot who is the most interested in Earth's culture...and maybe one who is reluctant to fight.

HOT ROD does NOT instantly mean that OPTIMUS PRIME dies...which seems to be people's automatic objection to him.

Aside from that, the basics of his character make him something that the general public (which is now well aware of Transformers) will relate to. He's more or less the Peter Parker of Transformers (cocky, Brash, but a heart of gold, etc)

Ya I have been thinking they will do something like him and BB competing for Optimus attention.

I'm not opposed to Hot Rod or any of the other TF:TM characters appeaing in a sequel, but I don't want that to happen before the third movie.

I'm a big Hot Rod fan, but I'd prefer to see more of the classic Autobot cars, like Mirage or Hound.

hate him. Bay has already gotten the audience attached to bumblebee, a stylish sports car. We can't have another one of those can we? Never made sense to me, just because hot rod has the spark he's the leader? Nah, we need Ironhide or ratchet to step up!

I think hot rod should be more of a tuner car... like a highly tricked out Honda Civic, imho, would be awesome for a youthful exhuberant Hot Rod. I agree the sports car is well covered... that's part of why I'm not really looking to see Mirage or Jazz revived. And I think that Hot Rod should exhibit NO leadership qualities WHATSOEVER!

EXACTLY.

Hot Rod is THE PEOPLE'S AUTOBOT...

...and people should stop saying that Bumblebee and Hot Rod are too similar...espescially since once Bumblebee spoke, he was obviously quite a bit older than one would have expected. Hot Rod can be the brash youth of the Autobots/unlikely hero. It's basically a classic story/character arc, which always works (Star Wars anyone?)

No one has even pointed out what I stated earlier on when I began this thread. I want to know what you all thought about my idea about how Hot Rod could be introduced. Does anyone else think that Bay has it in him to rebuild Jazz into Hot Rod?

No if they bring back Jazz it will be Jazz with the G1 repaint like the toy.

GL1
07-30-2007, 10:01 PM
I think it would be HORRIBLE to rebuild Jazz as Hot Rod. Jazz's persona doesn't really match Hot Rod, and using Jazz just for parts sounds really morbid... ESPEICALLY since Autobots should be raining from the sky in the sequel, y'know? Why bother messing up an already horridly done death...

Plus, it disallows us from being able to use Hot Rod to introduce new story, if he's really just an old autobot with a paint job and some body work.

As long as they're not gonna kill off Optimus Prime, then I'm down with having HR in the movies.

If they wanted to include the brash and young Autobot in TF2, then I would prefer to see Sideswipe fill out the role. However, I wouldn't have a problem if they used Hot Rod for that. Still, I would prefer to save any of the TF:TM characters for the third film.

Bumblebee and Hot Rod are my favorites, but I do feel that a talking Bumblebee who's bbfs with Sam will probably be similar to Hot Rod. They might want to introduce Hot Rod since he is a popular character, so they could bring him on as an incredibly youthful ******* who listens to speed metal or something. The presense of HR doesnt mean the death of Prime.

Hot Rod could be Mikaela's car/friend/guardian just like Bumblebee is to Sam. He's always gotten along with humans pretty well. Just a thought.

I think I stated at the begining that I dont want this to happen. I was just thinking that Michael Bay and his crew would do something like this.

GL1
08-06-2007, 02:22 PM
I see that now...

But even then, I don't even think it's that likely... did you see how quickly and totally Jazz was thrown away? I'm pretty sure Bay doesn't care about him, and he did a big setup for more Autobots coming from the sky...

I just don't see it, not based on what I saw in the first movie...

If Bay and crew bring Megatron back. They might bring Jazz back. I am only speculating a way so that both sides of the fandom are happy, Jazz returned and Hot Rod is in the film. I didnt think there were that many fans of Hot Rod til I came here and read some posts. I was dumbfound by how many people wanted Hot Rod in the first film. The first film for god sakes. It surprised me.

Well, Hot Rod is one of the most popular and well known transformers ever. Correct me if I'm wrong, but, I'm sure that the top five most recognisable Autobots are Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Jazz, Grimlock and Hot Rod

Hot Rod consistently gets new toys, and they always sell sell sell...

It's funny that, amongst ALL transformers, the divided fan-stance probably makes him even more popular.

Let me start off to you boys about what the sequel will have and not have.
If they even bother to put Hot Rod in the movie I guarantee you it will be in name only. Why? cause no Autobot or Decepticon looks like themselves from either the Comic or the Cartoon. So what your asking is practically unrealistic.
As for Jazz being rebuilt to be Hot Rod. What in blazes am I hearing. Were you people even fans of the Cartoon that you would blaspheme on making 2 individual Autobots into one another. What I think is that Michael Bay has totally screwed with your heads that you'll just except anything. Wow great maybe Prime Dies in the next movie and is made into Ultra Magnus. You see how ridiculous that sounds. Well thats what you guys are sounding like. Tsk Tsk. The Movie was good but it wasn't truly faithful to the Fans.

they could have hot rod come in during the second film and then fulfill his destiny of becoming the leader in the third against galvatron after the not-so-early death of optimus prime.

that could work out well

saying this though, i don't want jazz brought back as anyone else except for jazz.

Also if i had anysay i would leave hot rod out, he's ****ing useless...

I think it would really come down to how they did it. I could envision a scenario where Ratchet feels guilty over his failure to save Jazz and attempts to use the remaining fragment of the Allspark to bring him back.

I wouldn't mind seeing Jazz brought back since we really didn't get to see much of his personality. Not as Hot Rod though. I maintain that Bay should've waited until the sequel before killing off any of the Autobots.

Me not faithful. If you read anything in my posts you will see that I am a g1 enthusiast. I am all about generation one in the movie. I went to the movies and saw transformers 3 times so I could pick up all of the g1 inuindos.
I only started this thread to see what others thought of my idea. I dont want this to happen, I'm the last person who would want this to happen. I only suggested that in Bay's head it would be an option.
I have already come to grips that this film franchise is a different Transformer Universe completly different from the one I grew up with, but it is a better adaptation then what is out there right now.
Optimus Prime and Jazz looked damn near close to what they looked like in g1. I was suprised that they looked so close to the original. Its not that I will accept anything its just that I have come to terms with his changes. The changes arent that bad.

Welkers voice was fine... Bay(Or whoever made the call) is just an idiot. Need proof? Have the video game? its welkers voice in the game.

As far as Hot Rod goes... Keep him out. No need for him in this story line.

Guy's !!!!!!!! All this talk about Hot Rod for the next movie has 1 major problem!!!!!!!

They cant use the Hot Rod name!!!!!!!!!

They havent been able to call any of the Hot Rod inspired tous Hot Rod for years.Hotrod magazine owns the trademark to the name and forbids that the name be applied to any toys that resemble car's.It can be used in fiction[ comics or novels ] but what would be the sence in calling him Hot Rod in the movie if they cant call the toy Hot Rod.

And no they cant even try to go with Autobot Hot Rod !!!!!!!

It was tried with the G1 reissue, the Energon Rodimus ,The Titanim Rodimus and the Classic's Rodimus as well as the Hotshot repaint in the Cybertron line. But they were all rejected for trademark issue's.Heck they even wanted to call Armada Hotshot Hot Rod but couldnt!

in as much as i love hot rod/rodimus, i don't think we'd actually get to see him in the sequels. i'm thinking that prime's flame detailing was already a nod in HR/RP's direction, so having the latter on the sequels would make him look redundant to prime--unless they'd do away with the flame detailing with either one of them if they would ever put rod in the sequels. in this case, i couldn't imagine rod without all those flames. on the other hand, prime definitely looks much cooler with that detailing on IMHO. :cwink:
