i was just posting something i thought would get us away from pregnancy talk and pics and it's the first big new thing in her career for 2008, others don't go to the movie thread but come here, how about i just spoiler tag it ?

I like the pregnancy talk, and its what's happening in her life.........I think
its cool.....and enjoy reading her interviews about it......spoiler tags are fine.......but I would like to stay with the pregnancy talk myself...its the biggest thing in her life right now.....it should be, IMO, the main topic. As the movie talk about The Eye, should be the main topic in The Eye thread....

"No One Gives Cameron Diaz a Hard Time for Not Speaking Spanish"

Jessica Alba is finally hitting back at critics who question her identity. In an exclusive interview with Latina, the star of the new horror film The Eye dishes about the harsh double standard facing Latina actresses in Hollywood and how it's affected her differently from her peers.

"No one gives Cameron Diaz a hard time for not speaking Spanish," says Alba. "Her dad's Cuban, and I was telling her I feel so bad because everyone is so nasty to me for not speaking Spanish. She's like, 'I don't speak Spanish! I barely speak English!'," says the pregnant star with a laugh.

Although Alba's father is a second-generation Mexican-American, the actress has admitted that she was never taught to speak Spanish as a child, and Diaz isn't the only Latina who shares her struggle in learning the language. Shortly after she was denied a role in director Spike Lee's 25th Hour, Alba had a revealing conversation with that movie's star, Rosario Dawson. "[Lee] said, 'We're going to hire a Latin girl who can speak Spanish,' and then he hired Rosario. What's so funny is that I've worked with Rosario and she's like, I don't speak Spanish.' I was like, 'You don't?' And she was like, 'No!'"

Alba has faced increasing scrutiny over her latinidad, most notably since 2007, when a series of controversial quotes surfaced in which the actress seemed to question her roots. Reacting to those statements, Cuban-American celebrity blogger Perez Hilton has notoriously referred to her as "Jessica 'Don't Call Me Latina' Alba."

When asked whether the seeming hypocrisy in the industry bothers her, Alba is to the point. "You know, certain people they want to pick on, and certain people they don't."

JESSICA ALBA LOSES AN 'EYE' FOR HORROR

The talented, beautiful actress talks about her Japanese remake, THE EYE, her pregnancy and much more.

Jessica Alba is barely pregnant and wearing a red, sexy, little Gucci dress when I interview her. She’s hotter than ever – in more ways than one – in Hollywood having finished GOOD LUCK, CHUCK, FANTASTIC FOUR – RISE OF THE SILVER SURFER and in the remake of the Japanese film GIN GWAI, THE EYE, where she plays a young blind woman that receives an eye transplant that allows her to see into the supernatural world.

Alba is a joy to behold in person, glowing, vibrant and full of life when she sat down to talk to me about THE EYE, faith, her recent pregnancy, the paparazzi and much more.

iF Magazine: Congratulation, so happy for you! I remember the face I made when my wife told me “We were pregnant!” I totally freaked out. Now I just know it’s a “sweet hell” for the next 20 years …

JESSICA ALBA: Oh, Great! This is what I have to look for …

iF: Anyway, how was it to work with a crazy French directors?

ALBA: Well I loved it! I just wished I had known French better because they were doing lots of mumbling. They smoked a lot! That drove me a little crazy. They smoked more than anybody else I know. Also, we had some amazing food on the set, with fresh baguette and French cheeses. They grilled the bread perfectly like they do in France. The food and the conversation were great. Also, I enjoy the fact that French people know how to take their time and we had these lavish and laid back three hours long diners. And then they played music, and they are so artistic. But they are also very focused and they know exactly what they want once on the set.

iF: One of the themes of the movie is about faith, it’s about what happens when “seeing is believing” fails us. And having a kid is also a leap of faith. So how do you see yourself changed with this baby and how do you relate to the “spirituality” of the film? And do we live in an over-materialistic society that should focus a little more on its faith?

ALBA: I think a lot of people channel faith into religion and it’s only appropriate in that context instead of being a part of their everyday life. Something like ghost stories, or anything, a spirit living beyond their physical body it’s so out there and crazy and this is what lots of people think. But for me it’s not crazy. I think lots of people are connected with the world of spirits and energy and you can’t discredit it, it’s pretty fascinating for me. But for me, I definitely ponder the question. So, sure, I’m probably on top of this, with the pregnancy, a little more spiritual and it’s true it is some sort of leap of “faith” to be pregnant.

iF: Have you ever had a “déjà vu” or “clairvoyance” experience in your life?

ALBA: In my parents house when I was living with them I had a freaky experience in the middle of the night and I never slept in the house again. When we would leave the house … all the doors would open by themselves, and the water would be running in the house and nobody would be there, so there was something going on in this house. What’s the heck! And it would happen so often that we had to surrender to it … but I really didn’t like that. After that I would think, I need to move out! I always been fascinated with ghosts and horror movies. And I like the type of ride you go through when you watch a horror movie …

iF: So how is this whole pregnancy changing everything in your life? And are you more socially and politically engaged today?

ALBA: Well, for sure I eat much more than before and I’m much more tired than before. I need to stop every two hours to eat something. And yes, I’m always exhausted. As far as being more socially involved, well, I think I have always been involved with various group, surb-urban groups for children who don’t necessarily have chances to make in life. And I’m also somebody who is trying to be as “green” as possible with my car, my consumer habits. This is pretty much it…

iF: It’s interesting that now it’s all about the baby but before it was your sex symbol image.

ALBA: That’s not me, that’s the interviewer (laughs).

iF: Is it a relief that it’s not all about that now?

ALBA: It is. I think it’s a sign that I’m growing up and growing into something else. Before I was a child actor.

iF: Some women feel even sexier after they have a baby?

ALBA: Really. Well right now I just feel like … like a pregnant lady. (laughs)

iF: Will you continue acting?

ALBA: Of course. I think it’s important for me to still be your own person. I don’t know if it would be healthy if you lose yourself completely. I think kids appreciate it if you still move on with your individuality and you’re living the example that you want your kids to emulate.

iF: Are you concerned by the paparazzi and having a baby?

ALBA: The thing is, I think it’s in England where you can’t show the kids faces and that is right because they’re not in the public eye and I think if they could do that here it would be wonderful. When I started acting it wasn’t this bad. It’s bizarre and it seems like anybody can buy a camera and call themselves a paparazzi and stalk people for a living. It’s really strange. I’m not doing any interesting or salacious. I’m going to the gym because it’s good for me and the baby and going to the grocery store because we need food in the house and it’s really not that interesting. I’m not trying to be out there in that way.

iF: It looks dangerous

ALBA: Yeah, they cut me off. I’ve had to call the police a few times when I’ve been scared. They go in front of the lights and cut me off so they can stay with me but what if they’re running a red light when someone doesn’t see them? They just don’t care. It’s too bad.

iF: Do you ever think about moving away from LA?

ALBA: I have but my family is here. All my family is here and I think it’s more important that the kid grows up with family around and not be isolated from the world because of idiots.

iF: What’s next for you?

ALBA: THE LOVE GURU – with Mike Myers. It’s along the lines of AUSTIN POWERS – it’s really original what he did with it.

Here is a review from Bloody Disgusting.

http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/film/655/review

Back in 2002, before Hollywood had caught on, I was jumping the gun on the J-horror craze. Among films like DARK WATER, RINGU and PULSE there was Mandarin horror film that I was obsessed with – JIAN GUI, or THE EYE if you will. Directed by the Pang brothers, the film was a mix between action and horror and took low budget to a new level. While being completely conventional, it still found a way to be completely entertaining, scary and explosive (literally). After THE RING remake exploded in theaters Paramount Pictures had announced a remake of EYE, which instantly had me excited… until the film entered development hell. Somewhere along the way Lionsgate ended up with the rights to remake the film (alongside Paramount Vantage) and what should have probably been another wasted remake, ended up a solid carbon copy with a few minor tweaks.

In the film Sydney, a young, blind violinist is given the chance to see for the first time since childhood through a miraculous corneal transplant. As Sydney adjusts to a dizzying new world of colors and shapes, she is haunted by frightening visions of death itself capturing the doomed and dragging them away from the world of the living. Terrorized and on the brink of insanity, Sydney must discover whose eyes she has inherited, and what secret visions they have held.

David Moreau and Xavier Palud – two upcoming French filmmakers we’re pretty excited about – had the unfriendly task of creating a Xerox copy of a phenomenal Asian horror film. Because of the lack of originality involved, for any director this task should be the equivalent to selling your soul, but the duo bring a little of their own flavor to their version. Besides getting me to jump out of my seat on three separate occasions, the duo does a remarkable job building the character of Sydney and they really take the necessary time to develop the audience/character relationship over the first 45-minutes. They don’t rush and really use the time effectively. In addition, they also play with the idea that even when Sydney receives new corneas, she has to adjust and things are still blurry. In an ironic way she’s still blind even with vision. There are a lot of dialogue and visual elements which work together to really create tension for the viewer. We see what she sees and what she sees are shadows, fuzzy outlines of people, and is what she seeing real or ghosts? It’s a genuine thumbprint given by the duo that really separates them from let’s say, the director of ONE MISSED CALL, which was conventional and completely unoriginal to the core. I’m not saying THE EYE is groundbreaking by any means, but at least the film plays as if it has something to say in a different way.

I also really dug Jessica Alba’s first ever solo starring performance. She’s 100% convincing in her role and by the halfway point I was sold onto the fact that she was Sydney, which is a difficult thing for any actor to do (separate their stardom from their character). On a negative note Parker Posey has never walked through her lines so lazily (and looked so rigid) and Alessandro Nivola is not only remarkably hammy as Dr. Paul Faulkner, but his “look” designed for the film makes him appear to be some wannabe hipster Hollywood douche bag. Every single time he talks, walks or even appears on the screen I just wanted to punch him in his f-cking glasses. It was almost as if his character was written in at the last second because even his lines were atrocious. There’s a moment were Alba’s character exclaims, “It’s almost as if I….” and Nivola finishes, “can see ghosts?” Brilliant little wink, wink, elbow elbow (sarcasm). Obviously this hinders a massive portion of the film, also adding a few chuckles here and there, but at least the rest of it was entertaining enough to get me through.

I know everyone’s always knocking remakes, but seriously, I look at is as this film was made for those people who would not venture out to find the original and watch it. THE EYE remake is for those people who don’t even know JIAN GUI exists… and on that note it’s a successful film. Lionsgate has delivered a solid PG-13 horror film that’s both entertaining and suspenseful… and for those of you who don’t like it, there will be more SAW on October 24.
Score: 6 / 10

Here's one from Hollywood.com
http://www.hollywood.com/review/The_Eye/5060251
Hollywood.com Says
There’s probably an interesting concept for a psychological drama buried deep within The Eye, but as a psychological horror--or, excuse me, “thriller”--it’s empty.

Story
Sydney Wells (Jessica Alba) is a Los Angeles-based concert violinist who has been blind since she was 5 years old. She gets by the best she can and sees “using my other senses,” as she explains to a passer-by whom she saves from getting run over by a bus. But Sydney still desperately misses her vision and is one day away from a once-in-a-lifetime medical miracle that will bring her the gift of restored sight: a double corneal transplant. Almost immediately following the operation, Sydney, through extremely blurred vision, begins seeing strange silhouettes but thinks nothing of them. As her sight improves with each passing day, however, the figures become clearer and much more troubling. Before long, Sydney identifies them as “escorts” that take people away when they’re dead, and she can’t escape the horrifying visions, even while sleeping. But she’s forced to investigate and solve the situation mostly on her own, as both her sister (Parker Posey) and ophthalmologist (Alessandro Nivola) swear it’s all in her mind’s eye. What Sydney discovers is both hair-raising and, of course, eye-opening.

Acting
The opening shot features Alba looking glamorously hot in the way we’re used to seeing her, as though just finishing a photo shoot for the cover of another glossy magazine. Then the camera pans down to her walking stick, and you admit to yourself, not three minutes in, that Alba as a blind woman (and later a violinist!) will necessitate complete suspension of disbelief. Same can be said for The Eye’s few dramatic scenes, namely one in which an extreme close-up draws attention to the actress' complete inability to fake-cry. Alba can pull off much of the rest of the movie since it’s relatively low on dialogue and emotion, but The Eye is just another example of her trying, in vain--much like Good Luck Chuck--to un-pigeonhole herself. In supporting roles, veterans Nivola (Junebug) and Posey (Dazed and Confused) show that they’re much too esteemed for a B-grade horror movie and much better than the actress to whom they are playing second- and third-fiddle, respectively. Although that’s usually the case in movies like this.

Direction
Ah, the much-too-frequent adaptation of the exotic-import horror movie--always reliable for a few cheap thrills and nothing more. The Eye, based on the Pang brothers’ 2002 Chinese film, is no exception to that rule and is undoubtedly a dumbed-down, less-scary version of the original. The director duo of David Moreau and Xavier Palud, who collaborated on 2006’s creepy French film Them, manage to somewhat dilute all that is bad about The Eye by using music and style, but there’s ultimately no way around the anemic adapted script by Sebastian Gutierrez (Snakes on a Plane) and acting by Alba. While the concept of someone having her vision restored after 20-plus years without it is fascinating and tantalizing for all the directions in which a filmmaker could take it, there’s nothing post-setup--or post-op, in this case--that eclipses the mildest of scares, and this meant to be a horror film. To the directors’ credit, The Eye looks gorgeously foreboding and the movie’s elevation to mere watchability shows that they have some promise in this genre.

Just the Facts on Jessica Alba
FACT ONE: Jessica Learned From the Very Best
Jessica Alba took her first acting class at the age of twelve, and within a year she had her first movie role in Camp Nowhere. Jessica is currently appearing in a new advertising campaign for the Good Cents Initiative to raise money to provides AIDS medication for children in Africa and India. She also supports Soles4Souls, a relief organization that has collected over two million pairs of shoes for disaster victims across the globe.

FACT THREE: Change Is Coming for Jess and Cash
In December Jessica officially announced that she is expecting her first child with fiancé Cash Warren in the late spring/early summer. They met on the set of Fantastic Four, where he was working as the director's assistant. She told OK Magazine that pregnancy has made her more relaxed, but, "I wake up to hiccups every single morning. Never had hiccups before."

FACT FOUR: She's Bringing the "Love" to the NHL
Next up for Jessica is The Love Guru, written by and starring Mike Myers. She plays the owner of the Toronto Maple Leafs hockey team who seeks the help of Pitka, a spiritual self-help guide, to mend the marriage of her star player and his wife. It also stars Ben Kingsley, Meagan Good and Justin Timberlake.

FACT FIVE: All Those in Favor Say "Eye"
Following in the footsteps of Naomi Watts and Sarah Michelle Gellar, Jessica plays the lead in a remake of a successful Asian horror movie. She took six months of violin lessons for the role of a blind musician who gains supernatural visions after a corneal transplant. Scroll down to check out the theatrical trailer.

Well, for one, I think people are getting sick and tired of the American remakes of Japanese horror films. Two, "Hannah Montana" is like a religion to a whole bunch of 4-12 year old girls. So it's no wonder "Hannah Montana" beat out "The Eye". Is anyone really surprised?

Hannah Montana is apparently some kiddy sensation (though honestly I never heard of it until a week or two ago), so it doesn't show Alba to be the "kiss of the death" simply because her film got clobbered by it, even if it was more heavily distributed.

Regardless of quality, something that appeals to kids is likely to sell bigger. Narnia (which I like, but nowhere near as much as Kong) trumped Kong financially back in December '05 not because it was better, but because it was more kiddy friendly. It happens all the time.

The Eye looks to have about a $15 mill opening weekend, which is pretty good for a horror film. Unless we're talking about a genre sensation like SAW, genre films rarely open much better than that.

My sister bought tickets 3 weeks in advance.

Well I think "Bratz, the Movie" may put a wrench in the whole....."kiddie BO power".....but this little chick, has been raking in the money in concerts for over a year, selling out weeks in advance on all of them.............she is the #1 show on Disney at the moment, and #1 Saturday morning show on ABC......she put Kelly Clarkson debuting at #2 and her CD debuting #1 on the billboard top 100 when their CD's came out. She sold out her concert here in Houston in less than 13 minutes....its absolutely nuts.

Well I'm speaking in general when I refer to the kiddy audience dominating the BO, there always going to be exceptios...but...what's Bratz the Movie?

Still kids are fickle, for every Hannah Montana, Shrek, Finding Nemo, there's the Wild, Bratz, Open Season.

Just because it's a children's movie, doesn't mean kids will flock to it.

That goes for anything. You really don't know what's going to be a hit or not. Not many people figured Titanic or even Pirates to make as much money as it did.

But for all of us who "don't get it", remember when we were younger and whatever fad we were into.

Yeah. Old school "Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers" and "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles". But this is on a scale way above that with concerts and stuff. This won't last long after she turns 18, though. That's when Disney drops them like a bad habit. See Lindsay Lohan and Shia LaBeouf (though his career is going somewhere) for further reference.

Lindsey Lohan did not drop because Disney dropped her.......they would still be on her side if she hadn't screwed her life up so bad.......

Shia LaBeouf has moved on from Disney, and is making it on his own.....THAT is what these kiddos have to do........it's not "when" Disney drops them.....its "when" they drop Disney.......Shia used his time on Disney to learn, and he learned well.........Cyrus needs to do the same.....and we will see if she does....

TMNT are well beyond the fad level, they're still a hit with kids today, they've crossed generations.

Something appealing to kids doesn't guarantee huge success, but it certainly helps. Rarely do kiddy flicks bomb (it happens, but rarely).

EMOTIONAL ALBA KICKS WARREN OUT
Impending motherhood is proving to be a big threat for pregnant JESSICA ALBA's romance with fiance CASH WARREN - she keeps throwing him out of their new home. The sexy star admits her emotions are "all over the place" and the slightest thing can turn her into a sobbing, screaming mess. Unfortunately for Warren, a producer and Internet entrepreneur, he's the target of the actress' rants. She explains, "I think I threw him out of the house twice already since I've been pregnant, and he's like, 'Are you just pregnant? I hope you're just pregnant and acting crazy,' and I'm like, 'It has nothing to do with that.' "And then we cry and we hug and he's like, 'You're preggers, what do you want?' "Little things get me so mad... He calls five minutes later than he said he was going to. You get so emotional when you're pregnant, and so irrational. It's totally dumb."

ALBA ADORES HER BIGGER BREASTS
JESSICA ALBA is enjoying a fringe benefit of her first pregnancy - her breasts are bigger. The slim 26-year-old was amazed when her bust increased from a size 32B to a 34D almost immediately after she discovered she was pregnant in September. Alba says, "I was like, 'Wow, where did these breasts come from?' It was instant. It was great, but shocking."

The Top 99 Most Desirable Women of 2008
By AskMen.com
January 30, 2008, 11:30 pm PST

AskMen.com's Top 99 Most Desirable Women is an annual list compiled by AskMen.com readers and staff, ranking the famous females deemed to be the year's most alluring. In casting their votes, readers are asked to look beyond sex appeal and beauty to pick women who have the characteristics they value in a potential companion, like intelligence, humor, charisma, and ambition. The result is an annual list that acts as the definitive gauge for identifying what modern men desire most in their female companions.

This year, over 5 million votes were cast as AskMen.com readers identified the females from the worlds of music, fashion, sports, and entertainment who they felt best represented their ideal woman. Who has joined the exclusive ranks of previous winners Laetitia Casta, Charlize Theron, Monica Bellucci, Adriana Lima, Jessica Alba, and Beyonce Knowles in being named 2008's No. 1? Find out by making your way up through the list --

Find out by making your way up through the list --

Here's an exclusive sneak peak of some of the women voted onto the Top 99 list in 2008:

The Honorees:

Blake Lively - View her photos
Voted as the No. 99 Most Desirable Woman of 2008
2008 marks Blake Lively's debut on the AskMen.com Top 99 list. Although she's been acting for years in films like "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" (2005) and "Accepted" (2006), the 20-year- old California native had a breakout year in 2007 with her starring role as Serena van der Woodsen on the hit teen TV series "Gossip Girl."

Lindsay Lohan - View her photos
Voted as the No. 95 Most Desirable Woman of 2008
Lindsay Lohan might have done everything except star in a hit movie this year. Plummeting 45 positions to finish at No. 95, Lindsay proved to be perfect tabloid fodder in 2007 with her highly publicized antics, which included a bizarre car crash, an arrest, and a subsequent stint in rehab.

Jessica Simpson - View her photos
Voted as the No. 47 Most Desirable Woman of 2008
Jessica Simpson is the quintessential all-American girl, and in 2007 (after calling it quits with crooner John Mayer) she made the ultimate patriotic move to date All-American quarterback Tony Romo. After Dallas' suspiring NFC divisional playoff loss to the New York Giants, Cowboy fans tagged her with the nickname Yoko Romo. Aside from breaking her nose on the set of her upcoming 2008 film "Major Movie Star," Jessica announced that she will be returning to her Texas roots and releasing a country album in the coming year.

Eva Longoria - View her photos
Voted as the No. 29 Most Desirable Woman of 2008
Eva Longoria is the reason why men don't complain about "Desperate Housewives." Eva sizzled as Gabrielle all year and still found time to make a cameo in "The Heartbreak Kid," model for Bebe Sport and host the 2007 NCLR ALMA Awards. In 2008, she'll appear in "Lower Learning," "Over Her Dead Body," "Foodfight!," and "Deep in the Heart of Texas." When told her she made AskMen.com's list again, she said: "[It's] probably ... because I married Tony Parker. So people think, 'Cool! Sports guy!' That is really flattering and fun. ... It's better than the alternate lists -- the not-so-hot of the year!"

Kim Kardashian - View her photos
Voted as the No. 28 Most Desirable Woman of 2008
Hollywood socialite Kim Kardashian is one busy lady: She owns her very own high-end clothing boutique, stars in a reality TV show, "Keeping Up With The Kardashians," and still finds the time to cameo in the occasional homemade porn video. But while Kim Kardashian might have a talent for batting those eyelashes at the camera, it's her curvaceous Jessica Rabbit-like physique that drives the boys crazy.

Carrie Underwood - View her photos
Voted as the No. 23 Most Desirable Woman of 2008
Quite possibly the most successful American Idol winner ever, Carrie Underwood was nominated for five Academy of Country Music awards in 2007 and for the "Best New Artist" Grammy -- the first time an Idol winner has been nominated in that category. She also became only the 11th country music star ever to perform on "SNL." Carrie released her second sophomore studio album, Carnival Ride, in '07, and continues to dominate airwaves on radio stations from coast to coast.

Halle Berry - View her photos
Voted as the No. 21 Most Desirable Woman of 2008
2007 proved to be a busy year for this Academy Award-winning actress, model and mother-to-be; after starring in two flicks, "Perfect Stranger" and "Things We Lost in the Fire," Halle received a coveted star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. 2008 will be another busy year for Halle Berry, as she already has three films lined up.

Beyonce Knowles - View her photos
Voted as the No. 14 Most Desirable Woman of 2008
Voted as the most Desirable Woman of 2007, Beyonce's physical and musical attributes have already translated into a stellar career as an award-winning singer and actress. She had several hit songs in 2007, including "Beautiful Liar," and fans everywhere now wait with bated breath for Beyonce's third solo album, due out in 2008.

Megan Fox - View her photos
Voted as the No. 12 Most Desirable Woman of 2008
This foxy Fox is known for having starring roles in a number of hit movies and television shows, including "Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen" (2004), the sitcom "Hope & Faith," and her starring role in 2007's box-office smash hit "Transformers." Though her resume is short, there is no denying Megan Fox's budding talent ... and her incredible good looks.

Jessica Alba - View her photos
Voted as the No. 5 Most Desirable Woman of 2008
Who doesn't love a beautiful woman with a great sense of humor? Jessica Alba showed us her funny side in "Good Luck Chuck," and her gorgeous side everywhere else she appeared. In 2007, she also reprised her role as Susan Storm in "Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver Surfer," and can next be seen starring in "The Eye," "The Love Guru," and 2009's "Sin City 2." Voted No. 1 of 2006, Jessica Alba is a perennial favorite among voters.

Katherine Heigl - View her photos
AskMen.com's Most Desirable Woman of 2008
Katherine Heigl has had an outstanding year. Her role on "Grey's Anatomy" garnered her an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. She also starred in the box-office hit "Knocked Up," was interviewed by journalist Barbara Walters as one of her "10 Most Fascinating People of 2007," and married singer Josh Kelley. A former model, Katherine Heigl is beautiful, well-spoken, humorous, talented ... the list goes on. No one belongs at the top of 2008's Top 99 more than Katherine Heigl.

I'm sure Jessica wants her kid to be a nerd because she's tired of being judged based on looks. When you're hot, that's all what people see. They don't care about anything else. I'm not saying she has it tough, but I'm sure she doesn't want her kid to think that looks only matter.

No, it wasn't an alternate marvel universe.....it dwelled more on their relationships, family aspect, inner turmoil of the characters....etc. It was written very much more towards the mature audience.....as seen in Marvel Knights 1,2,3,4 title.....very well written...

Jessica Alba 'attacked by ghost'
Jessica Alba has claimed that she was attacked in bed by a ghost when she was a teenager.

The actress said her parents were forced to call in expert help after a "presence" ripped the covers off her bed and lay on top of her. She revealed that the incident has given her nightmares ever since, saying: "I had no idea what it was. I felt this pressure and I couldn't get up, I couldn't scream, I couldn't talk, I couldn't do anything. Something definitely took the covers off me and I definitely couldn't get off the bed, and then, once I did, I screamed, ran to my parents' room and I don't think I spent many nights in that house ever again."

The 26-year-old added: "There's something in my parents' old house, I don't know what it was. I can't really explain it... They got it blessed and they burned sage and stuff since then." Alba, who is expecting a baby with fiancé Cash Warren, recently admitted that she hopes her child grows up to be a "nerd".

Lionsgate did not screen The Eye (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0406759/) for critics -- apparently assuming that they would loathe it. As it turned out, they were right. Not only did they not like the movie, several did not even like Jessica Alba (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0004695/), whose cover image has sold millions of men's magazines. Peter Howell in the Toronto Star warned: "Strapping lads who flock to The Eye hoping to lay peepers upon a bikini-clad Jessica Alba (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0004695/) are in for a cruel disappointment." Jan Stuart in Newsday suggested it's a disappointment in more ways than one. He calls her "a vapid beauty with a singular gift for making bad acting look effortless. What the movie really wants," Stuart commented, "is someone with the personality quirks to make a dopey script look credible." Roger Moore in the Orlando Sentinel faulted her for giving "a flat, utterly unaffecting performance." And Wesley Morris (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1426725/) in the Boston Globe commented, "As a performer, Alba still seems to be figuring out what she's good at."

Jessica Alba Likes Obama
Jessica Alba is a young woman whose power extends far beyond the Hollywood Hills. In fact, it goes all the way to Capitol Hill as she joins a slew of stars supporting presidential candidates.

"I am leaning toward Obama," Alba told Pop Tarts at the premiere of her new thriller, "The Eye," on Thursday night. "He is pretty incredible!" But even though Alba is earning big bucks as one of the most in-demand dames in Tinseltown, it turns out she is troubled by the value of her bountiful bank balance. "The economy is huge — the fact that our dollar is so low is unbelievable," Alba said. "Health care is another big one and, obviously, the war in Iraq."

Later, Pop Tarts spotted a somewhat sick-with-the-flu Jess hightailing it from the theater just moments after the movie began, and the pre-yummy mommy didn't return for the after-party, either. According to an insider, the thrill and intensity of the new flick not only caused Alba to suffer nightmares during filming, it also causes "trigger kicking" from her bouncy little bun in the oven when she watches it.

The Proud Mama To Be Spoke to US Weekly.

On finding out she was pregnant:

I found out I was pregnant in September. I was shocked! [laughs] It was bizarre and amazing. Cash was shocked too. It was a total surprise. It wasn't what we were thinking about, it just happened. We thought, 'Okay, let's do it!' We were both really happy. But it was jarring at first, because we knew the rest of our lives would be different now.

Cash, 30, adds,

We're about to embark on the biggest journey of our lives, and I can't wait.

On her body's first changes:

Within two weeks of finding out I was pregnant, I went from a 32B to a 34D. I was like, 'Wow, where did these come from?' It was instant. It was great, but it was shocking. It's more like something is taking over my body. You can't believe you have something inside of you that's growing. It's the most incredible thing in the world, and at the same time, it's very emotional and bizarre. [After suffering from all-day sickness in the first trimester,] I'm finally enjoying being pregnant.

On her belly:

I'm finally showing! I can't wait to have a really big belly. It doesn't feel weird, it feels normal. Gaining weight is natural and it's what's needed for the baby. Cash talks to the belly! But I feel far away, so I just put my hand on it and that's how we connect. [I've felt flutters, but no kicks yet.] I'm excited to meet this baby. I think it's going to be the best thing in the world. We feel super-blessed.

On a brief break in their 4-year relationship over the summer:

Every relationship goes through ups and downs. It was private.

Cash remarks,

The bumps have given us the confidence to take this challenge on.

On her pregnancy workouts and eating habits:

I do everything completely differently. Now I just do walking and stretching, treadmill, stationary bike, yoga, or Pilates instead of running and weights. I don't have the stamina anymore. But exercise keeps me grounded and makes me feel both healthy and happy. And it's supposed to make giving birth easier. Anything that makes that easier, I'm all for it!

I'm also eating every 4 hours. Before I got pregnant, I wouldn't be hungry to eat that much. Now, if I don't eat anything, I get tired and cranky. It's like, there's somebody here who needs food! My body isn't mine anymore, and I'm okay with that.

On cravings:

Lemonade. I drank a lot of coffee, so I've replaced it with lemonade. Everything smelled so strong. I had to cut out meat and cheese, but I really craved lemons.

On being a part of the latest celebrity baby boom:

You go through life, getting engaged, having a baby, and you never think it's going to be something your friends read about!

No Plastic Surgery For Jessica Alba
Jessica Alba has ruled out ever having plastic surgery.

The 26-year-old beauty - who is pregnant with fiancé Cash Warren's baby - is perfectly happy with her appearance and can't understand why people go under the knife to copy her look. She told Latina magazine: "I like that I look different. I like having flavour. I think it's funny that women get their lips injected and get butt implants. Everyone wants to look like us now."

The 'Sin City' star recently revealed she finds women who rely on plastic surgery "scary". She explained: "In Beverly Hills there's a whole race of women that look exactly the same. The cheeks, the lips, the t**s, the a** everything. They're scary. They're so skinny. I'm not a make-up and hair kind of girl. I don't really have a brush."

Jessica also admitted she finds male attention hard to accept because there are so many "insanely sexy" women in Hollywood. She said: "Scarlett Johansson is insanely sexy, Jessica Biel is insanely sexy, Angelina Jolie is insanely sexy. So why me? It doesn't even make sense."

In one of many interviews to THE EYE Jessica Alba has still done a rather interesting statement the life with a baby.

KW: How do you think life will change after the baby is born?

JA: I have to believe that when you have a child and you have someone that needs you and needs your time, you kind of can't be self-interested anymore and you have to consider that any time you spend away from your child is invaluable. And so I think I'll just probably be a bit more choosy and not work for two years straight like I just did.

JESSICA ALBA: The Eye Interview with Kam Williams
*Though born in Pomona, California on April 28, 1981, Jessica Maria Alba moved to Biloxi, Mississippi while still an infant when her father was transferred by the military.
The peripatetic army brat came back to California with her family at the age of three, before relocating to Texas, and then finally settling in California at the age of nine.
Soon thereafter, Jessica exhibited a serious interest in acting, and landed her first screen role in a kiddie comedy called Camp Nowhere.
She next made a string of support appearances on TV and in movies till landing the breakout role as the Dark Angel on the Fox-TV series of the same name.
Since, she has starred in such films as Good Luck Chuck, Awake, Fantastic Four 1 & 2, Sin City, Honey, The Ten and Into the Blue.
Alba, an attractive blend of Latino, French and Danish, was named #1 on Maxim's Hot 100 List of 2001, #1 on Ask Men's 99 Most Desirable Women List of 2006, #6 on FHM's Sexiest Girls of 2002, #3 on E TV's 101 Sexiest Celebrity Bodies, of 2006, #4 on Empire Magazine's 100 Sexiest Movie Stars of 2007, #12 on Stuff Magazine's 102 Sexiest Women in the World List, Victoria Secret's Sexiest Woman Celebrity in 2007, etcetera.
Jessica's about to trade in that pinup image for mother and wife, because she's expecting and engaged to actor Cash Warren, son of UCLA basketball great Mike Warren. Here, she talks about her life, her career, and her new movie, The Eye, a horror flick where she plays a blind violinist haunted by frightening visions after her sight is restored by a double corneal transplant operation.
Kam Williams: Hi Jessica, congratulations on the baby.
Jessica Alba: Thank you.
KW: Have you picked out a name yet?
JA: I'm thinking of names.
KW: What are some of the ones you're considering?
JA: I would never share that.
KW: You get a lot of attention because of your looks. Has that influenced how you pick parts?
JA: I never base anything on my appearance, to be honest with you. I don't think that people would hire me just because of that. There's so many much, much cuter girls in L.A. that would do just about anything to get roles. And
if it was just about looks they would be getting them. So I have to
believe that I bring more to the table than that. And whether it's likeability or an appeal or something more, I don't know.
KW: Do you think you'll find yourself gravitating towards different types of roles now?
JA: I think, initially, I'm going to probably do more character-driven roles, more indies, ensemble casts, smaller budget. Not necessarily the big, box-office, tent-pole movies. And then, I've always had my eye out for an action movie since I finished Dark Angel. It's been this long since I finished that and I still haven't found that good, female-driven, action flick I've been looking for. So, if you have any suggestions, send them my way.
KW: Will do. What sort of research did you do for this role where you had to play a blind person?
JA: I went to a blind orientation center in LA and one in New Mexico. And I lived among people who were learning to deal with blindness, particularly in New Mexico. And I learned how to read braille, how to label everything in the house, and to walk with my cane. I just sort of learned how to exist as someone with blindness.
KW: Which did you find more challenging? Playing the violin or playing blind?
JA: Violin was definitely more difficult, because I played a soloist, the best of the best. There are people who've been playing that instrument since they were three years-old and who practice eight hours a day who still don't become soloists. They're just in the orchestra. So, that was tough for me because I wanted to come off as realistic and as believable as possible in order for the audience to really take the journey with me in this movie.
KW: How is this version of The Eye different from the original?
JA: The Hong Kong version was more bitter than sweet in the end. And ours was definitely bittersweet, without giving anything away.
KW: Your previous picture was Awake, another thriller. How does that compare to The Eye?
JA: Wow, they don't compare at all. The Eye is way more scary. It's a horror movie, for sure. Awake is more a psychological thriller about someone who is dealing with a surgery and trust. And everyone in his life is sort of betraying him. The Eye's about a girl who has a corneal transplant. She gains the ability to see, she takes on psychic abilities of the girl, of the donor, and starts to see death before it happens, and she doesn't understand. She's literally seeing for the first time, taking in the world, and also seeing horrible things. So yeah, The Eye's definitely more scary.
KW: What's up next for you?
JA: I am coming out in a comedy with Mike Myers, The Love Guru, which is his first original character since Austin Powers. It's absolutely hilarious! To me, this was like a dream come true, because he is the Peter Sellers of our generation, I feel. He's a genius and he's primed in every phrase in pop culture. That was huge because I love comedy and, if you're going to work
with anybody in comedy, Mike is definitely someone to learn from.
KW: What's the movie about?
JA: I play the owner of a hockey team and he is a guru who fixes peoples, an all around guru. But it's mostly about love and loving yourself and fixing your love life. My key hockey player's love life is totally screwed up and our team is losing, and everyone thinks the team is cursed because of me.
So, I hire Mike Myers to fix my guy's love life and hopefully we can win the Stanley Cup. It's a very funny broad comedy.
KW: Do you have anything to say about the untimely death of Heath Ledger?
JA: Oh my God, it was. it's such a huge loss, and the most tragic, saddest thing ever. I can't imagine a more. it was just horrible. And I just feel for his family and his friends and everyone that's close to him. And I. I don't know. I guess I'm just sensitive to the fact that he is in the public eye and the fact that people can all have an opinion about him when I feel like he should just rest in peace and people should grieve without having this extra attention on how he passed. It's a huge loss for the acting community and really so, so shocking and so, so sad.
KW: Columbus Short gave me this question. Are you happy?
JA: [Sarcastically] You know what? I sound so bummed out right now. Of course,
I'm happy.
KW: Where in L.A. do you live?
JA: In L.A.
KW: Will you tell me the general neighborhood? Nosy Jimmy Bayan, realtor to the stars, wants to know.
JA: I live in L.A. in the hills. [Hollywood Hills]
KW: Is there a question you always want to be asked but no one ever asks you?
JA: Not really, reporters get pretty in there. They get right to just about everything.
KW: Well, best of luck with the baby and thanks for the time.
JA: No worries. Bye.

ALBA WILL ONLY SPEAK SPANISH TO BABY
JESSICA ALBA will speak nothing but Spanish when her baby is born later this year because she regretted not picking up the language of her grandparents when she was a child. The sexy Latino star reveals her father only spoke English to her and her brother because he wanted them to become model Americans - and it took her years to master basic Spanish. She tells Latina magazine, "I wish to God that my dad spoke Spanish to my brother and me, but he didn't grow up with it." Now, Alba is committed to mastering Spanish so she can speak the language to her baby. She adds, "Hopefully I can pick it up because I want my kids to speak Spanish. I don't even want them to speak English for maybe the first two to three years, until pre-school. "We're in the United States so they're going to learn it anyway." Alba admits her inability to speak Spanish when she first became a star didn't go down well with fellow Latinos. She explains, "I got shunned (and) it made me feel really bad, like maybe I'm not (a Latino).

Jessica Alba: ''I Can't Wait For My Baby to be Brown''

In Latina's March 2008 cover story, Jessica Alba gets personal with Editor-in-Chief Mimi Valdés Ryan and directly responds to the rumors that have resulted in her now-commonly used nickname, "Jessica 'Don't Call Me Latina' Alba." Check out some of her revealing answers below, and don't forget to pick up the full story when the issue hits newsstands on February 19!

On her reluctance to walk the red carpet at Latin events: "I'll support those shows, but I can't go on the press lines and have people make me feel bad about myself. Life is too short. I can't change how I grew up, and I shouldn't have to apologize for it. I know I feel close to the Latin community, because that's what I grew up with."

On claims that she's proud to have cut loose from her Mexican roots: "I never said that. Cut loose from what? What the hell are they talking about? Why would I want to cut loose from the only family I know?"

On not learning to speak Spanish as a child: "I wish to God that my dad spoke Spanish to my brother and me, but he didn't grow up with it."

On confusing other men for her dad as a kid: "When I was little, I used to go up to black men and hold their legs, thinking it was my dad all the time. I'd wrap my arms around them, then look up and be like, 'Oh my God!'"

On being accepted for who she is in Hollywood: "I was always trying to figure out: How the hell am I going to be mainstream? How are people going to accept me? When are the going to get a clue that I am American, that this is what America looks like--people like me who are mixed, have different blood, mixed with different ethnicities? When are the people who are hiring for these jobs and writing these screenplays going to realize that?"

On what she wants her baby to look like: "I'm excited for my baby to be brown. I just have to believe the dark gene is going to survive. Cash and I are like, please!"

Okay as big of a fan i am. "I want the baby to be brown please" kinda makes her sound well you know.

I think you have to look at the context of when she was saying that.....it was "tongue in cheek" and actually in a manner that made her out to be the bad guy.....as in "chronic PMS, caused by being preggers".....it happens.......she also was asked how long was he out, and it wasn't long, he would come back and was very sweet about the whole situation. She's in love, and people that have been in love before, can see it.....its true, its there, and he's the one for her....ACCORDING TO HER........which speaks louder than anything else. Anyone that has been in a relationship that has lasted more than a year, KNOW that there are bumps, and will be bumps.....along the way.......its a relationship, and its not always great, but they got through it, and seem to be much stronger for it. Technically the kid is going to be white, and hispanic and black. What complexion the kid is, is a different story.

I have a feeling the kid's complexion will be like her's. Probably tan and definitely not pale white.

Jessica Alba Steps Up

With a baby on the way, the hot star takes a break from Hollywood to give girls in Harlem the pep talk of their lives.

http://img175.imageshack.us/img175/1662/mcx0308fealba007medkf9pn0.jpg (http://imageshack.us)

Nestled into the leather upholstery of her chauffeured Lexus SUV, Jessica Alba is layered: tan topcoat, loose-fitting sweater-dress, black tights, voluminous cashmere wrap, high boots. Her portly she-pug, Sid, named for the Sex Pistols' Sid Vicious and done up in hot-pink outerwear, does tight laps around her feet.

We're headed north from her suite at Manhattan's Gramercy Park Hotel to a Harlem school for "Goddess Day" — not a mani-pedi party, but rather an afternoon-long workshop hosted by Step Up Women's Network, a national women's and girl's empowerment organization Alba volunteers for regularly. En route, she fidgets with her boots, inserting drugstore-bought orthotics, and sits in her seat so primly, she's either nervous as hell or the secret spawn of some uppity finishing school. Alba takes me through the perfunctory matter of two upcoming movies: In The Love Guru, she owns a hockey team and falls for a Deepak Chopra/Austin Powers hybrid played by Mike Myers; in The Eye, she appears as a blind violinist who endures freakish complications after corneal-transplant surgery (i.e., she sees dead people). Then we talk about the day ahead.

"I just hope I say the right thing," Alba, 26, tells me. "I think these girls can relate to me, to the fact I didn't have rich parents or any nepotism working in my favor." Her father was in the military, moving the family from Mississippi to Texas before settling them in Laverne, CA. Alba is Mexican on her father's side, and Danish and French on her mother's. "I don't fit in with one race," she says.

In person, Alba looks even younger than she does on-screen — finely and delicately proportioned, almost tiny. Button nose, doll lips. Her eyelashes, however, are the stuff of hyperbole. They're long enough to propel her into flight; a couple of rapid blinks and she'd be gone.

She tells me she misses her boyfriend, Cash Warren, coproducer of an upcoming documentary on gang warfare, who's back in L.A. watching football with her dad. "I'm away too much," Alba laments. "It's not healthy." And yet she knows her problems can't begin to compare with those of the girls from low-income, high-density neighborhoods like the one we're driving through now — girls who sometimes have babies to cure their loneliness. "They aren't ready to be mothers," Alba says. "There's no more 'you' after having a kid, but they're too young to understand that. They see the world in their 10-minute reality. They don't see the big picture because you can't have that kind of perspective when you're that young."

Spoken like a woman who's earned "that kind of perspective." A week from now, Alba will announce her own pregnancy. Soon after, she and Warren will get engaged.

The school, on 106th Street, called the Young Women's Leadership School, is all gray slab and black glass. Eleven New York-area seventh- and eighth-graders wait inside. None of them knows that Alba is coming.

When she walks into the gym, the girls, who are standing on a stage, shriek loudly. Then they hold their breath in case they aren't supposed to scream. Then nobody yells at them for screaming, so they scream again. "Oh, my God!" "Oh, my God!" "I've seen Honey 10 times," one says. Alba bows her head: "Thank you." In most of the world, Honey, the coming-of-age tale of an urban dancer, is uniformly panned. Not so here in Harlem, where the story is set. "I learned to dance for that movie," says Alba, looking at the girl. "I learned to dance from that movie," says the girl, looking at the floor. Others compliment her work in both Fantastic Four flicks — "I like you as a superhero" — and also her role in a recent thriller called Awake. They were probably too young for Alba's breakthrough eight years ago, on the television sci-fi drama Dark Angel. Thankfully, not a single one comments on her stripper work in 2005's Sin City.

Introductions go fast: "Muriel." "Imani." "Norma." "Arena." "Samantha." "Aziza." "Mala." "Diamond." "Aleesha." "Geetanjali." "Destiny." Alba says they have excellent names, and wonders aloud why her mom, Cathy, who is sitting in the back, gave her such an ordinary one. Then Alba sits among them in a circle.

The girls seem awed by her, but Alba knows how to keep it real. "Nobody believed I could make it," she tells them, "and the industry still doesn't." Later, when a girl asks what she likes least about her job, Alba, cross-legged on the checkerboard linoleum, pauses, gathers, and releases: "There's a lot of pressure on women to fulfill certain fantasies. They expect you to be a little bit of a tart, to flirt with all the men. A lot of women do it. But I'm not doing that. I talk with these guys about their wives and kids right away. When they say inappropriate things, I let them, because boys will be boys, but I'm not looking to participate in their conversations."

The girls are locked on Alba, sitting as close to her as possible without sitting on her. They look weathered in a way Alba never will, unless it's for a role. Her hair glints in the light. It possesses an haute caramel confectionery brilliance. But something happens when she sits in their circles, participating in various trust-building exercises. She seems to spread her luster. Each girl's face brightens considerably as the day moves on, and Alba starts to blend in.

On being a role model: “When I was a little girl, I always wanted someone to look up to. I think identity was a big deal to me because I didn’t fit in with one certain race. I always wanted someone who looked like me, who was a positive role model.”

On being bullied at school: “I had a lot of haters. They’d unzip my backpack so my books would fall out. They’d tie my shoes together. They’d ‘accidentally’ spill lunches on me.”

On Hollywood’s perception of women: “There’s a lot of pressure on women to fulfill certain fantasies. They expect you to be a little bit of a tart, to flirt with all the men. A lot of women do it. But I’m not doing that. I talk with these guys about their wives and kids right away. When they say inappropriate things, I let them, because boys will be boys, but I’m not looking to participate in their conversations.”

"Jessica Alba is a cool little actress. I don't think she's given enough credit - too much emphasis on her body." Veteran sex symbol RAQUEL WELCH sympathises with JESSICA ALBA's predicament for being best known as an object of desire. (contactmusic.com)
