I actually don't like hot shot because he was very annoying. I especially hate it when he became the leader. How can you make a novice (at least compared to red alert) and a braggart & hard headed, a leader?
Bumble bee was actually likeable because he doesn't act something that he isn't, he's cute, not going against Optimus Prime just like in the movie. I'm glad they chose the G1 bumble bee character in the movie rather than hot shot.

With that said, my favorite characters in the TF animated series are G1 Hot Rod (not Hot SHOT) and G1 Grimlock. (Me, Grimlock, lol)

Incorrect. The Japanese versions of Hot Shot for A/E/C were as follows. Hot Rod in Micron legend (Armada), Hot Shot in Superlink (Energon), and Excillion in Galaxy Force (Cybertron). Hot Shot, like Cheetor before him, was a combination of Bumble Bee and Hot Rod. He has personality traits and looks in common with both.

I always liked the Deceptocons but some how I just lean toward the Auto Bots or the under dogs.

I don't have just one, i can't find myself rooting for one bot, theirs so many and i just enjoy heaps so my list lol is:

Dinobot/Cheetor from Beast Wars
Jazz/Prowl/Bumblebee(sometimes) from G1
Smokescreen/Hoist from Transformers Armadaand no favorites from the Energon or Cybertron, they were horrible, well not horrible but ugly and badly animated.

Hound was great in the G1 pilot but seemed to get sidelined a bit after that, although I always had a soft spot for him.
Loved Thundercracker and Skywarp, probably more than Starscream. I liked the way they didn't give him any respect even though he saw them as beneath him.

I really like Tigatron and TigerHawk from Beast Wars. The character was brave and polite. And badass. Also helps that the TigerHawk toy is awesome.

BTW, Im a teenager and I grew up in the Beast Wars generation.

The credits start rolling right after Primes speach at the end of the film but inbtween the credits they would show little sections of dialoge and action.Those that I mention took place in that part of the credits

I loved the third season. Maybe it was because I used to hire them on video wen I was a kid. Season 3 episodes were the only ones my local video store had. I love the movie so much that I think I gravitated towards those characters (Hot Rod, etc.).

Im saying on a 'personal note' i loved all the series until it finished for me with the rebirth part 3. Loved all the new characters found rodimus to be a good leader and enjoyed the story lines and loved all the toys i had.

I would say that the answer to this question is no.There were a few episodes in season 3 where animation was just as good as the movie [and in one case better] but for the most part the animation wasnt all that better then season 2.

I and many others say it wasnt the same after the movie for 2 reason's.

First is that there was no Optimus Prime.Those of us that engoyed the first 2 season looked twards Optimus Prime as the main Hero of the show and Rodimus just didnt cut it as the new hero

Second one of the main draws for kids was lost after the movie as well.Besides being coll and playable one of the reasons that kids liked the Transformers toyline so much was because almost anything car or truck you saw when you were walking down the streat could be a TF, and plane you saw in the sky or any boat in the water could be a TF.....at least when useing your imagination.

That aspect to the toyline and the toon were lost after the movie because all the alt models were futuristic.

Thats my opinion and the opinion of many others.As a matter of fact if you look up the history of the TF toyline on google you'll get some links to reports and analysis [spelling?] that blame the down fall of the franchise on the designs of the movie figures.Actually, that's incorrect.

The Gestalt teams were also huge sellers. Anyone looking to buy TFs now will find the first and second series fairly easy to come by, it's the third series that is so sought after and expensive.

"Easy to come by" is a over statement.In the long run there are quite a few series 1 and 2 figures that are close to impossible to get 100% complete.

If I'm right series 3 had the largest number of "NEW" figures released up to that point and it was the first run to feature city formers and Autobot Gestalts and triple changers, toped with better prices because of less dicast in them it's no real shock that it out sold the 2 series before it.

As for the Pretenders line [or the 88 line] being pointed to as the down fall of the franchise.....thats just an other opinion which is no less valid then mine.

But I find it a cop out to blame the 88 line up as the fault because the toon never made it to feature any of those figures.And the toon was a big lure to the toyline.The most popular TF toys of the time were the figures that got featured in the toon.

As a matter of fact the toon was canceled in most markets right after "The return of Optimus Prime".If it wasnt for Hasbro pushing for one more try we would never have seen "The rebirth".

Most dont know this but "The rebirth" was not intended to be the start of season 4 but was a polit for a new show that was to take place mostly on Nebulose and trew out space.

The way I see it the 88 toyline cant really be blamed for the down fall of the franchise when it had already lost its core fan's and it's advertiseing platform back in 86 and 87.

I agree about the animation.The stories havent been so bad so far but the art is starting to make me lose interest.
